Hi Sam another lesson in detailing using your magic thumb and index finger mate, they can blend different colours of paint, spread pva, prod foliage into place, shape stone walls, and all in one video. Great job, love it.

Looking good. I like the idea of adding some static grass to the clump foliage around the buffer. Certainly adds some different texture to the bushes. Something I hadn't thought of and certainly something that I will try in the future.

I think cream then , hints of yellows and browns might work before a wash ? But I didn’t fancy that !

What attention to detail! Tomorrow I'm going to have a bash at dry-stone walls on my own layout and suspect it won't be anywhere near as easy as you make it look!
No it really is there is a sweet spot between too thick and too thin
Keep your finger tips clean is key

Nice work Sam as a surgesstion you could use sculptamold to makethe stone walls and mix the rocks in with it as well and that should look good the signs by the station look great love your work and have an awesome weekend.

A great video, you are very good at doing scenery details. I could have done with a little more commentary, particularly when you were doing the walls which looked like you were using weathering powders rather than the paint demonstrated earlier. Thanks, Mel

There was one area only I used powders this is where I added some tufts to the wall, the rest of the walls were done as per demonstration

Nice video Sam, I do have to ask a question, the Signalbox at the end of the viaduct, when the Bobby needs to go to the toilet where does he go? And when its cold outside how does he heat the box?
Most Midland/LMS Boxes had an outside toilet and a small walled structure in which was kept the Box Coal supplies. Do you think that Justin could be persuaded to make a kit of an outside toilet?
On most layouts I have seen which has a Signalbox on the layout there is no provision for a comfort break or heating supplies.
Ah interesting , I havnt started that area yet, so things will be added I can put it to Justin The box by the viaduct has been moved I’m doing a signal box video soon
Good morning Sam, I have noticed that while static grassing you don't always attach the ground lead to the ground. My question is, is it not necessary to do this as in every othere video I've watched the lead is always grounded.great layout I love watching it evolve.

You did ask so here goes🤣
So just like powder coat painting the grass gets charged with a negative charge from the hopper , the clip is charged with positive . It dosnt matter where the clip is the fibres want to get to the clip. It’s dosnt need grounding or an earth! If you put the clip below the hopper but to one side you can see the fibres shoot out the hopper side ways
The grass and the clip act like magnets. This is how you are able to lay static grass on a nearly vertical embankment by using the clip to direct the grass to a degree of course fighting gravity but it works

Sam, you seem to hoover up immediately after doing static grass. Does that help make it stand up? I have difficulty especially with the longer grasses so this could be what I’m missing. Great video as ever.
The glue holds almost immediately and yes you can manipulate it too

Ah you mean the bushes by the dry stone wall? Yes some 1mm will be added once the pva is off
Some really exceptional modelling here. Not sure the professional dry-stone wallers among your audience would like to see the crumbling and neglected nature of your walls though!

Hi Sam looking good,a question:After a couple of years some of the grasses etc look a bit tired I have noticed this on many layouts.What would you recommend doing to give it some life again.
That’s an easy fix using a layering spray you can spruce it up over the top of the existing grass using 1-2mm or you could start from a scratch scraping it back if you didn’t want to gain any more height

Nope that’s not time lapse straight after with some care glue really grips the grass

Did you find that as it dried it split
No I didn’t I’d say that too much filler against the granules
I also found that it stuck more to my hand than anything else
what is your mix i.e 1 cup of cat litter to ect
