  • In this video i show how to install the IKEA Behjalplig sliding hinge on an integrated dishwasher. If you have a kitchen with large furniture doors, then this video can help to put a door on your dishwasher with the step by step instructions.
If you are looking for the Behjalplig, then you should be able to find one here: amzn.to/3dLJNvL

Thank you, without your video I probably would never know about this system. Saved me from a lot of problems. Update : I had 145 mm distance from the bottom for a Bosch dishwasher and that is not mentioned in the manual. I used the 135 mm holes and everything is fine.

I came here to find out exactly what you wrote about the distance being more than 135mm. Thank you, sir!

@DIY Helper thank you for this post. I bought the Ikea system and i saw i had 145mm and i started to think what now should i put it higher or what and saw you comment.
So you also had 145mm and did the A hole’s for 135mm and everything was great? I am planing today to do it and was realy woried…

@@brankosimeunovic3481 yes you can use the 135. You can adjust the front after that with the 2 wheels that grip on the telescopic bar.

    Sensational video!
Tip for those who like me have a taller than A point on the little metal measuring thing (ABC..), just make sure your dishwasher is as flush as possible with the countertop and use the highest possible option ("A" in this case), even if your measurement is higher.
Worked for me with a Beko dishwasher that was +22mm higher.

    • @Thyldor

Can also confirm that it works on a 148mm offset dishwasher (Ariston / Hotpoint LTF 11M132C). I had to grind the stop blocks on the aluminum railings so it wouldn't catch, but other than that, works great!

Awesome video, gives you so much more confidence than the printed instructions. I just installed this with a Bosch series 4 replacing the Ikea dishwasher that died in our Ikea kitchen. Extra tips would be to emphasize that you need to install the dishwasher 1-2cm deeper when using this as it is a extra layer between the panel and the dishwasher, and also clearer directions on the last step with the two white clips to prevent the door from popping out of the clips on the installed bar at the bottom. Total lifesaver video. Thanks so much!

The staff at my ikea didn't know it existed. Even though they had 140 in stock.
Recommended an alternative of €110 from another reseller.
During the kitchen planning nobody mentioned anything about this problem. They only put 'old dishwasher at consumers own risk' in the order confirmation.
After I searched the Internet I found out about the sliding hinge.
After seeing your video I found the behalpjig hinge at the ikea.
Had to Google it because I couldn't find it on the ikea site.
Thanks a lot for saving me €60 and making it easy to install.

Hi, personal experience - they don't have it in stock, ie. you can't find it on-line but, to my surprise, they just put it on the inventory list when I was buying a "cabinet" for alternative dishwasher. Just told them I got mine (dishwasher) so they asked if I needed 'the kit', I said 'absolutely' and they just added this to to the order. Got this with all other items I ordered. Part number is 604.923.49 and current version has slightly different parts that go on the dishwasher (seems like cutting costs as they removed good chunks of unnecessary material). Got it all within last 2-3 weeks. Btw, it was IKEA in Poland.

I've only got a max of 9mm to move it back further. I could cope with a 1mm protrusion but much more than that and it will look wrong! I can't see the thickness it needs on the Ikea website either, so really hoping you can help! Cheers

    @mateuszpankowski853 ปีที่แล้ว +5

For future users of IKEA Behjalplig sliding hinge :)
The way he installed those plastic sliders with rotating wheels is wrong (11:55). They should be installed opposite than he did. The height-adjusting wheel should be at the bottom of panel. With this way of mounting (as the original IKEA instruction says - it is with mistake) the front panel will be sliding down everytime because of weight and you won't be able to adjust it properly.

At the end of the video you mentioned after fitting in the system and the door, the whole thing wasn't in line with the other cabinets but that we can push it back until it sits flushed with the rest of them. When you push it back did you also had to move the horizontal bar that you installed at the beginning? What steps would you recommend in order to avoid mistakes and installing it correctly from the beginning? Thanks!

Bought this about a month ago, even though I wasn't quite ready to go ahead with the installation of the door (and I'm still not), but I just found out that the product is no longer available in the Czech Republic and Germany. So lucky me!

@@charliebrown6461 In the meantime, I have installed it. Worked well, but it was very fiddly and there's so little space behind the dishwasher, that pushing it in far enough was the most difficult part - together with getting the door onto the rail. But I'm glad I got this

Hi, thanks for this video its extremely helpful. May I please ask, as you mentioned at the end of the video the door can stick out because of the sliding hinge mechanism, however I have no more space behind the dishwasher to push it further back so is there any other way around the door sticking out? I want the door to be flush or in line with the other cabinets. Thank you :)

Have just spent an hour sat on the floor in front of the dishwasher getting very frustrated trying to put my IKEA door on and getting no answers online.
So glad I found this, by far the most clear and concise tutorial I’ve watched 😅 now feeling relieved and away to order this product. Thank you!!

Thank you for your video. So am I right in thinking that the left and right black strips that you fit to the 7:13 are only held on by one screw on each side?
