- Line integrals with respect to dx, dy and dz (as opposed to arc length 'ds') are a nice half way house between scalar line integrals and vector line integrals and as such are well worth getting to grips with. In this video we tackle a typical line integral with respect to dx, dy and dz of a function of x, y, and z and we answer it in two ways - firstly (recommended) by parameterising with respect to 't' and solving the resultant integral in terms of 't' and secondly (not recommended but interesting) by putting x, y and z in terms of each other and then integrating the 'x', 'y' and 'z' integrals separately.
