Sukuna was holding back because he was following his game plan w the 10 shadows.
1. Inside the domains if he wasn’t trying to get maho to adapt he would’ve had his CT tools and true body n would’ve easily beat gojo
2. Sukuna also stated that he couldn’t use CTS aside from one given to his domain due to this
3 using DA to defend himself without a CT IS A NERF, and the CT he's using is in the shadows waiting to fully adapt.
Only reason he got nervous cos he thot his plan would back fire but it didn’t

I disagree, I don’t think his original body would have made a difference since their power was stated to be equal after he consumed the mummy. Furthermore he practically NEEDED to use domain amplification because if he didn’t and Gojo held out the barrier for 3 minutes he would just keep trashing him inside the domain, and all this because he was relying on 10 shadows, not his Heian era stuff that we haven’t seen yet.
Too many people think that he would’ve been better off without the 10 shadows and it’s just not true. Him using enchain to steal Megumi’s body was a 10000 IQ play because he realized that the 10 shadows were an easy win con. Not saying he couldn’t have done it without, but there’s a reason why Sukuna made his whole plan around the 10 shadows in the first place, which he again admits to when he said that he wanted Mahoraga to serve as a blueprint.
