My Mom and I played this on Halloween for a long time, she's not with us anymore, but I will definitely play this. She did the best decorations for Halloween 🎃👻🍬
When I was a small boy I asked grandma to buy this for me on an outing. She did and we played it in the van afterwards. I would always request grandma and grandpa to play this when we would go on out because we never listened to it the whole way through. Eventually the tape was lost to time. So thank you for posting this. For me atleast, you've recovered a lost relic of my youth.
This cd reminds me of fall and Halloween. I bought this cd in the late 80's and 90's for my kids. Now they are adults and we still say these phrases today. It has been so nice to hear this. HaHaHa! Good times. Thank you
The memories that are resurrected by hearing this are nearly endless. I remember buying the casset from a local supermarket back in the early 90s. It was one of those stores that really went all out on Halloween. They devoted an entire isle to decorations, costumes, masks, make-up, props and so on. The whole length of the isle was covered with black sheeting plastic to look like a cave. They even hung spider webs and bats from the pvc supports. Needless to say I'd spend hours in that part of the store and my parents or grandparents would literally have to drag me away, usually by bribing me with some creepy thing I'd discovered. Good times indeed...but back to the tape, I recall listening to it so much that my Mom was seriously concerned I was going to become possessed or some hyper-paranoid Catholic bullshit like that. Knowing her tactics all to well I was quick to stash the tape before it was confiscated and thrown into the flames. Wonderful memories though, especially the story narration on the A Side.

So thankful to have rediscovered this! I played our original so much the tape deck spat it out with the black spaghetti of death and wrapped the spools, destroyed cassette. Today marks 25 years since last I heard this tape, and I still love it!
I remember this tape since I was young. This album was from 1993 on Holly Music label. It's has Halloween stories and sound effects that put you in the festive mood. Side 1 has stories, and side 2 has sound effects to create your own stories. It has loads of sound effects on side 2, a bunch of them are from the sound effects library, except for the "Fighting Cats" track at 34:16, it was the same cat sound effects was stolen from the Disneyland album called "Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House". I don't know why they give permission to use the cat fighting sounds for this one. They took the track from a Disney album "Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House" and then re-edited twice, and they give Holly Music credit for putting the cat fighting sounds on this album, because of Disney's permission to use it. And don't forget the last sound effect for this album at 1:01:16 called "When World's Collide" named after the 1951 end of the world movie of the same name, and the sound you hear is a nuclear bomb blast all over the place to end the album on a scary note.

It’s said that when the witches of Salem escaped their persecutors, they found refuge in these dark walls. Here they freely practiced their demonic rites. There’s a foulness in the air. Pungent smoke, ominous echoes. It’s the witching hour, and this is the witches’ cauldron. A place you wouldn’t want to be caught dead, and especially not alive. The Vampire's Castle Welcome to Graystone Mansion. No one ever comes to this house on the hill anymore. At least, not mortal souls. It is a gloomy place, in terrible disrepair. What once were magnificent windows are boarded shut. Or stare out like vacant eyes. What once was a garden is overrun by weeds and scattered white trunks of decayed trees. Better reign the horses tight and shackle the dogs, for they have a certain sense of entrapping terror. Cobwebs hang from the walls and furniture. There’s an ominous power of darkness in such a desolate house. But, you don’t believe in ghosts, now do you? How curious - the fireplace burns in the dining room, and the table has been set. What’s this? A wooden coffin! Dracula - “Come to me, blood of my blood, flesh of my flesh. Come to me. Come, come. (Come, come.....). Good evening. I’ve been expecting you.” He casts no shadow; shows no blood in his face. His hands are hairy, his teeth sharp, his eyes, daggers of fire. Dracula - “You seem restless, my friend.” Doors everywhere, all bolted. Dracula - “I am the darkness and the night. A shadow in your dreams. Do you hear them? The creatures of the night. My children of darkness. They sing a requiem for the dead - and undead. I shall return. Until then, eat - please. I trust you like salad with a balsamic vinegar. I find a steak (stake) so, so bad for the heart. Tonight I take a bride. Blood of my blood, flesh of my flesh. There’s a foulness in the air. Pungent smoke, ominous echoes. It’s the witching hour, and this is the witches’ cauldron. A place you wouldn’t want to be caught dead, and
especially not alive.
The Vampire's Castle
Welcome to Graystone Mansion. No one ever comes to this house on the hill anymore. At least, not mortal souls. It is a gloomy place, in terrible disrepair. What once were
magnificent windows are boarded shut. Or stare out like vacant eyes. What once was a garden is overrun by weeds and scattered white trunks of decayed trees. Better reign the horses tight and shackle the dogs, for they have a certain sense of entrapping terror.
Cobwebs hang from the walls and furniture. There’s an ominous power of darkness in such a desolate house. But, you don’t believe in ghosts, now do you?
How curious - the fireplace burns in the dining room, and the table has been set. What’s this? A wooden coffin!
Dracula - “Come to me, blood of my blood, flesh of my flesh. Come to me. Come, come. (Come, come.....). Good evening. I’ve been expecting you.”
He casts no shadow; shows no blood in his face. His hands are hairy, his teeth sharp, his eyes, daggers of fire.
Dracula - “You seem restless, my friend.”
Doors everywhere, all bolted.
Dracula - “I am the darkness and the night. A shadow in your dreams. Do you hear them? The creatures of the night. My children of darkness. They sing a requiem for the dead - and
undead. I shall return. Until then, eat - please. I trust you like salad with a balsamic vinegar. I find a steak (stake) so, so bad for the heart. Tonight I take a bride. Blood of my blood, flesh of my flesh. Come with me into the darkness, and you shall know eternal life!”
The Mad Organist

parlor. It was in this room that Dr. Charles Fourier took the maid as his mistress. And it was here that he savagely murdered his wife, Sarah, and buried her under the organ’s pipes and the reeds.
Soon the doctor and maid were married. People say that on their wedding night, the
organ began to play. Softly at first; sadly. Then increasingly louder and more maddening. Dr. Fourier tried hacking it to pieces - still it played on. The next morning, the doctor and his maid were found hanging from two nooses directly over the organ. The ‘official’ report says guilt drove them insane! But I never believe ‘official’ reports.”

Dracula - “I’m afraid you swooned, so we placed you on this table. Please, don’t fight the straps. Just look toward the ceiling of your prison. Do you see the painted picture of time, rather than the traditional scythe, is holding a huge pendulum.
Yes, the pendulum is in motion. Notice how its arc and velocity increase with every swing. Notice how it lowers inch by inch. A crescent of sharpened, glittering steel, about a foot in length from horn to horn. The under-edge as keen as a razor.
The pendulum is designed to crush the region of your heart. First it splits your clothing. Then it returns and repeats the operation. Feel the sharp cool steel upon your skin. Just a tickle at first, then a trickle...of blood. Then...”

Dracula - “Ahh, the laboratory, where frightful experiments are conducted.”
Siren's Song
Ancient mariners spoke of the songs of the Sirens. Too seductive to ignore, too deadly to hear. Upon the jagged rocks sit these temptresses of the sea, weaving notes that draw ships ever closer, until finally the crews are driven mad in their hunger for more. The blind fury, the ships find only uncharted rocks and cliffs...and death.
