Glad you reacted to this song by Dan Vasc again. Such an outstanding rendition of this classic hymn. His operatic songs are amazing. He does The Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera, and the classic aria Nessun Dorma. Also, Angels We Have Heard on High is incredible. He sings this one is 5 languages. brilliant reaction.. a young man not afraid to profess his faith.. Loud and proud. John Newton a British Poet wrote this. He was a captain of a slave ship, caught at sea in a vicious storm, he called out for their lives to be saved, He gave up being a slaver, joined the church, was a friend of Sir Robert Walpole and an influential person in the movement to stop slave trade in UK. This hymn has waited 250 years to be sung as a song of Praise and Thanks and not the funeral dirge it has always been. I am sure the Angels do not whisper their Praises ... Dan gives this new life, and has brought this into the modern age... I think even teenagers would be more drawn to this metal version than the sad sounding dirge

Dan has extensive training in both classical and contemporary singing, and uses both techniques in this extraordinary performance. I enjoyed your reaction, but I think I would have been disappointed if I had been listening to it for the first time, only to have the climax shown right at the beginning. This is a song that builds throughout, and it’s worth waiting for the payoff, I think. Still, I enjoyed your commentary very much. Thanks for reacting to Dan again!
True, the whole build up makes it so special, now we know it is coming. Luckily this isn’t my first listen to this performance of Dan
