Interesting fact about the band Queen: their drummer(Roger Taylor) had the same vocal range as Freddie Mercury. A lot of the harmonies that were done by Taylor people thought it was just Mercury.

Epic Lloyd's overall performance seems to resemble Don Rickles more than it did Frank Sinatra. While they were admittedly close friends and regularly seen together, its hard to imagine ERB would confuse the two. It would've been Rickles that would go after Mercury's disheveled appearance and sexual preferences. Sinatra would mock Freddie's lack of class, disloyalty to the band (Freddie's failed solo act), failed marriage, numerous affairs and whatnot--not necessarily his sexual orientation.

Claude Francois was the first person to write “My Way” although the lyrics are completely different (and in French) but the tune and melody are exactly the same. (Like note for note and beat for beat it’s insane). Then Paul Anka heard the song Comme D’habitude (the popular French song mentioned before) and replaced the French lyrics with his own English lyrics. Then, finally, Mr. Sinatra took that song, sang it, and magically it became his.
Edit: if you haven’t listened to Comme d’habitude I highly recommend it. It’s a beautiful song

8:36 "I'm more powerful than you when I'm wearing women's pants" Freddie Mercury and Brian May early in Queen's career wanted flashier costumes for stage performances. Their favorite designer was a little known woman who, before meeting Mercury and May, had only ever made women's fashions. She made custom versions of women's silk blouses, pants, and jackets for them. She's now one of the biggest names in the UK fashion industry because of this.
9:17 Probably also a Live Aid flex. The concert was in England at Wembley Stadium but the entire world was watching and entranced by Freddie's stage presence, together. Making one of the most legendary moments in music history.

This is in fact my favorite ERB of all of them. You make the point that Frank was progressive for his time, in fact most people in show business were quite progressive because of the homosexuals and other types of people that were in it. However, due to the time, they couldn't speak out about it, and that's what I think they're playing on. And also the bigoted mafia stereotype. Homosexuality is, even today, not allowed in La Cosa Nostra. I appreciate that you caught the thing about Frank being a draft dodger, I didn't know that. I also have no idea what the South America line means either. You did miss a couple little things, butthole roulette is a reference to Las Vegas, where the Rat Pack called home. Guinea and dago are "epithets" would have been a good opportunity to show that word. But, I as an Italian American, isn't bothered by most slurs. And most of the people I know and relatives get a kick out of it. Mostly because we're so proud of being Italian that we just don't care.
Your issue with this is that Frank wasn't racist or homophobic, so this was unrealistic. If he were in this for real, he probably would have made the jabs about Freddys sexuality simply because it's "low hanging fruit", it's easy to diss that. I particularly love the line about the "coloreds and the queers" because the antiquated terms are slurs today. And I didn't know that about Sammy Davis, I just thought he was a bit effiminate and that was the joke. "Wait in line" is a joke about Freddie's multiple partners. Anyway, this is still my favorite, I wish you liked it as much as me. They do a lot of research on these and I've only found one glaring error. Skrillex doesn't use Cubase, he's quite known to use Ableton, and Ableton would have fit the verse anyway. Thanks for what you do.

Interesting tidbit about 'My Way'; 'My Way' was originally a French song that a music studio, I'm only going off memory, wanted to be translated to English & David Bowie at the time had a job where he would translate foreign songs & record them in English.
He translated the song & named it 'Even a Fool Can Love', he sent in his work & waited til he got word back from the studio.
One day Bowie hears the song on the radio, but it's not _his_ song, the lyrics & vocals were different, they reason why was b/c it was Frank Sinatra singing the song, but it wasn't 'Even a Fool Can Love', it was 'My Way.'
So Bowie called up & asked, 'So um, what is this now?', 'Oh, well your lyrics sucked, so we got Sinatra to do it', 'oh OK, I get it.'
Then 'Life on Mars?' was born, a song made to get back at Sinatra.
Of course I'm merely going offa memory so maybe a detail or two are wrong, so here's a video going into more detail; th-cam.com/video/dd-b8GbOPKg/w-d-xo.html
Also, the 'Champion of The World' verse, might be a reference to the Queen Song, 'We Are The Champions.'

I don't think Sinatra's portrayal in the first verse contradicted the second. I think it's meant that he didn't appreciate Mercury's flamboyant behavior. As you mention about the BH roulette, Sinatra is fine with "queers", but there's a line to be drawn between having a preference and having a "lifestyle".

It’s an insightful comment about the how Sinatra’s progressiveness for the era is at odds with the nature of the burns he’s delivering-- yeah, I know, it’s a rap battle... I can’t see many of the participants actually saying the things they do (Mother Teresa, for instance...)... that being said, ERB isn’t the first to portray him in a weird duality that way; I’m reminded of how Joe Piscopo used to play him on SNL; in particular, that duet with Stevie Wonder (Eddie Murphy.)

Of course you can be racist against an Italian. The true nature of racism is discrimination, which Is based on the making and underlining of differences. Racism is not just white against black. It can be any sort of somewhat enclosed cultural and ethnic group against any other such group. Yes you can be racist to Italians 😂😁

I grew up on Sinatra since my parents were born in the 40s (I didn’t know how Bowie, Jagger, or Mercury were until I was like 12). I like him, but I kind of agree with my gran - she didn’t like him because he always sounded flat to her, and I can kind of hear it as well. And my mom was never much impressed with his acting. But he’s still cool.
    Still with Freddie though.

If you don't get why this is so lop-sided, you don't understand their politics. Nice Peter is extreme left, and Lloyd is pretty close to it, too. Also, Nice Peter has a huge man crush on Freddy - like he even said something in the behind the scenes or something about Freddy was his favorite musician.
Evidence to the political bent - the video where there talked about coming back after 2 years. Peter went on about how badly hurt they were Hillary lost, and his disappointment in the US because of it.

At 7:08 and I'm still wondering where your proof that a man from the 50s and 60s would not be so cruel to another human being that was different than society's norms, regardless of their own affiliations. People were throwing each other under the bus calling each other commies.
Where is the proof that contradicts history?
The second verse sounded more like a tokenism, than appreciation or acceptance to me. 1 member, and I don't recall any marches, speeches or anything public, that couldn't also be linked to his mob connections, like which clubs to play at.

Sinatra wasn't dissing Freddie for being gay. He was dissing him for being irresponsibly oversexual, pointing at the cause of his death being his sex with another male. The problem? In order to make it come off as a diss, since it is a rap battle, it simply sounds homophobic - clarification of meaning is a complicated thing to do.
Or at least that's my take on it, considering ERB is known for being pretty in-depth with their character portrayal.
    Either way? Freddy wins.

Oof.. If you think this was tilted towards one side, you should not watch the Banners one. Or the Jefferson vs Douglas one. ERB is being very PC in their favorites. But that's up to them, ofcourse - and they are still pretty damn funny to watch, especially the latter one.

You can very much be racist against Italians - racism and nationalism grew up next to each other; a lot of what we consider "racist" is is pretty much just taking nationalist stereotypes and trying to get a genetic component out of them. It's pretty common to look at 18th and 19th (and early 20th) century texts and ads, and see them talking about "the Irish race" or "the French race".
Racism grew out of ethnocentricism -> the belief that your "extended tribe" (ie, your city-state or country) was inherently superior. That's the whole "500 years ago people weren't racist" idea. It's true, but that's because they were ethnocentric instead. Folks back then weren't racist in the modern sense, because modern racism requires that people create social categories that include individuals living thousands of miles away form each other, on different continents. (ie, black people in Austraila are somehow the same as those living in West Africa.) Society as a whole just didn't have that sort of cultural self-awareness to make that sort of thing work.
The intermediary step between Ethnocentricism and modern racism is a form of "lesser racism", I suppose (in terms of the category size), where what we would consider "white" people being fully racist against each other: the Irish in particular if you were English, but yeah - also the Italians.
