I love watching talented artists ink. Things just look so crisp and nice. You can watch a picture just pop to life. I can only hope that one day I'll be able to do the same! Great vid!
Terrific brush pen. I use it with Rotring ink; flows a bit better than the supplied cartridges. I've stocked up on loads of the No.8 DP150-8B (which is the same thing just less fancy) and have filled them with various grey tones. When I win the lottery I'll try out the sable version.
I just bought the Kuretake #8 brush pen last week and am very pleased with it so far. Just wonder how long will the brush last. I plan to refill the ink with a syringe later on.
You can also put the sable brush tip on it ( those on the 40-50 ) I did the exact reverse , I have kuratake 50 ( sable brush ) but the tip dried out and is now replaced with a synthetic tip But to be honoust , the inkflow is far from ideal , I'ts almost always a half dry brush effect
Awesome videos! I haven't used the 13, but I do have a 50, which I'm pretty sure is identical overall but has sable hair and a different finish on the body. I agree with your assessment. Body feels a bit thin, but the flow and quality of the brush is fantastic. Also, when I tried to do markers over the ink it bled pretty badly. So I do not like the default Kuretake ink and I always use my own ink in a converter. From what I can tell, in terms of actual brush and line quality, these and the Pentel are on nearly equal footing with the difference mainly being the heavier, nicer feel of the Kuretake metal body. I like it, it's thin sure. I have 2. Don't forget the Japanese actually write with these pens on a daily basis. Business men probably asked for the thinness, shirt pockets being what they are. Their traditional writing instrument we just happen to find great for art.
sir teach us what we need to practice to draw like comic artist??how can we create our own comics, how to get reference draw ,how to practice to master this influence
@@davidpentecost that's great. I might buy this pen in future. I've been using a pental pocket brush pen for a while and I got some issues. It's bristles split too often and it's hard to control. Hatching is almost impossible with spilited bristles. Not to mention the refills are crazy expensive (I've watched your refill method and would try it soon, also please recommend me the ink I should use for refilling. I prefer waterproof inks) . Is there a fix to those bristles? I've recently started using a real brush for inkjng and damn.. it's literally the best inking tool ever

Some people just want to draw and have fun without going broke on items they don't really need ... 'ya know. Probably why companies make differing brush types at various costs.

What brush pens will give a dry brush effect?
I find that using quick strokes can create a dry brush effect. As well as letting the ink run low
