"There should be a good balance between detail and simplicity to a drawing that is both accurate and aesthetically pleasing." She said that really well.
I think that's one of the most difficult things to learn. It's hard to make something look detailed in a realistic way, but it's way harder to balance detail and simplicity.
mad respect for Proko for hosting Miss Jisu and other artists I've only known about through this channel. You teach us art and help us explore it through other artists; this is why yours is my favorite art channel.
Miss Jisu is really good, she works with Kim Jung Gi who is that guy who can draw from memory. She's become one of my favs. still have no idea how Proko gets them into his studio. he must a lifetime supply of the worlds best cookies or something
seconded. I learned figure drawing and anatomy mainly from Proko and his exposure to awesome artists like the Super Ani crew is really great for everyone interested in the top folks in illustration and concept art right now.
Korean's artist have a very distinct drawing style and you can find resemblance in one artist to another artist. The simplicity of their lines and the emphasize on shape is something that I'll always adore and enjoy watching.
Miss Jisu and Jung Gi both have very calming demeanors. It makes learning or even just listening to them while they draw, very satisfying. Thank you for this video. Amazing control and skill from Miss Jisu, I am such a fan.
@@adroitws1367 That is true but for a start I think it's good to draw maybe 3 hands and then something you're confident with for motivation. I wouldn't draw the 100 hands in a row, then I'd lose interest. And even after three studies of hands the drawing skills will improve, little by little.
I think it's important to note is that she tries it out first and then if it goes very wrong then she corrects it by obscuring it. Sketching is there to experiment and screw up. As for hands I've found its better off thinking of them as mittens for a while and just ignore the individuality of the fingers. The thumb is important to distinguish though.
i dont think ive ever been captured that much by an artist drawing.. wow this is some next level skills. every line is soo perfectly placed.. Miss Jisu have now become my fav artist. thanks for making us discover such an amazing artist.
I can watch superani artists draw all day long. She's so skilled at her craft it's incredible. The diluted ink wash and black ink to create values in her work is so nice. I'm kinda sad I've only recently heard about her.
Hello Proko, thank you for featuring different artists with different nationalities on your channel! I was particularly happy to see a female artist this time. Maybe it is also possible in the future to use a voice actor again for the translation, then it is easier to focus entirely on the drawing without reading the subtitles. Anyway, keep up the great content! I imagine it takes a lot of effort to interview and feature so many artists and your videos are always very enjoyable.
Lol, there were people saying the opposite thing when Proko's Kim Jung Gi videos was dubbed over. I guess people do have preference on how transo are done. I personally prefer to hear artist's own voice and read subtitles.
Remember kids, leave those cool eyepatches for pirates and instead try to draw both eyes at once. Oh, and one more thing, never stop comparing things. Have a good day.
It was too hard for me to both read & watch at the same time, so I watched the drawing the first time I played this and read the 2nd time...glad I did. I'm mostly a fashion illustrator & portrait kind of artist so I really enjoyed her work.
A tip for when you are pressing too hard on your graphics tablet, is to wrap masking tape around it to make it thicker, the added bulk will help you relax. I wish theyd make those things less flimsy, looking at you wacom.
the thickness of my graphic tablet pens have been thick enough (granted, i have only owned 3 graphics tablets so far). What has helped me, is to customize the pressure curve on my tablet drivers. Its not like i need the full range of my tablets pressure sensitivity, if it means i have to press super hard to reach 100%. In my case, my tablet has 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity out of the box (im still using Wacom Intuos 3). But i have capped the max pressure at around 80% of that (im guessing its 80% of maximum. The pressure curve in my tablet drivers doesnt have numbers.)
>simpler forms, like faces Ah yes, I too am forced to use pencils when the drawing gets difficult, like having to represent the 5th dymension or capturing the face of Cthullu
'I occasionally use pencil too, but that's for difficult forms, not simpler forms like faces' Isnt the face is the most difficult thing of all to draw?
So beautiful and impressive, very special and precious. Thanks so much for sharing. The type of pen and ink were mentioned, but not the paper, I believe? Does anyone have any recommendations for brush pens and markers?
"There are some stains here but let's not worry about those and just move on" something "digital artists" should think about before the 100th ctrl z attempted line throw trying to get that same single line. Probably the best take away from this video for everyone. Loosen up don't stress it and move right along.
Part 2 and Miss Jisu’s interview will be next, so be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it.
cool
Noice... looking forward to that.
miss jisu finally getting more recognition LETS GO!
Yasss!!!
YEs!! Finally I have been waiting for this for almost months

a quote with detail and simplicity

the bowl of rice example was great too
I would've said it better
That's a quote I will keep with me for the rest of my life from now on.

so, manga?
@@EmiTheLoomistar no, manga style is made by Japanese afaik. Korean artists from observing make art that is more realistic proportion wise.
@AMIR NAJMI BIN AMIR HAMZAH Moe exactly, which is why op's comment here is false.

The thing I love about proko is that I get to see artists I typically wouldn't have come across on my own
Didn´t knew that she was a Kim Jun Gi pupil, this explains alot.
really does
She wasn't. She was a student with him, not under him. Taking classes with as in together.
Miss Jisu and Jung Gi both have very calming demeanors. It makes learning or even just listening to them while they draw, very satisfying. Thank you for this video. Amazing control and skill from Miss Jisu, I am such a fan.
Man I really love her style. Been following her on Insta for a long time but seeing her work in realtime is really something else
her
"if i dont like her forehead i put bangs"
"dont like this eye? put eyepatch"
me: draws hands in pocket for years. ..yep still cant draw hands.
Practice makes perfect :) I'm sure if you draw the hands a couple of times you will become much better at it.
@@halloooo1duuuuu lmao 'a couple'. dont be weakling and draw those 100 hands!!!

Can't draw hands? Amputate it or give it prostetic hand or just draw a stick.

23 seconds in and I’m already impressed
I am a simple person I see Proko (I click)
the way she explains makes me feel like a little child all awe and wonder
Wow she's amazing! Her art style is so soothing and flowy 💜
I would've missed this great artist in my life 😭😭 Thank u! She's my new inspiration
Thank you for hosting Miss Jisu, finally! She doesn't get enough attention for her work
Miss Jisu 작가님 멋지십니다.
Proko 작가 작업을 통해 좋은 시간 갖는데 여기에서 가끔씩 한국인 작가님들을 뵙게되니 감격입니다.
Proko작가님과 지수작가님,
앞으로도 관심 갖고 보겠습니다.
늘 행운이 가득하세요~~^^
Dude her work looks awesome! Minimalist and beautiful luv it 👍
Mesmerizing to watch and her way of explaining art is relatable
Her drawings have a feeling about them as if they’ve come from a book.
Kind of earthy, dunno feels like I’m reading a book when I look at her work.
Like her images are acting and emoting, rather than 'I've sat here for a portrait'?
They're like the illustrations from scary stories to tell in the dark, but much more pleasant
i've done the eyepatch trick a few time. many pirates with their hands out of frame in my sketchbook

@Proko I wonder if Miss Jisu visualizes the face in her mind/on the page, or if she just has the proportions locked in and works it out on the page?
