I adore your flexible (I would say, courageous!) mixing of different mediums along with your emphasis on developing details and tonal contrasts. I always learn so much. Your voice also is lovely to hear. Thank you for your gracious sharing.

Didn't realise coloured pencils would go on top of markers, thanks. Just about to try alcohol markers.

I like the idea of an undercoat for colored pencil work. Would watercolor be a suitable undercoat as well, I wonder?

When you say % of the same colour what is it you actually mean. Does it mean the pressure applied. I know this seems probably a simple question but I have only drawn in b/w. Fantastic videos you have and you are very precise and clear with your instructions. Keep up the great work. I have subscribed.

I didn’t watch the whole video but if you mean coloured pencil then i think it refers to the pigment intensity or opacity of the particular colour in question, i assume the same goes for markers. The higher the % the higher the pigment, i’m not 100% sure but i think this is the case.

    Prismacolor's quality control issues, folks!
Matt appears to have been using a pencil with a broken lead, because who hasn't had to do that with a Prismacolor pencil?
You've sharpened away half of the pencil just trying to get it to sharpen, so you've resigned to using a pencil that you can see has a broken tip, telling yourself that if you hold it and use it at the right angle the lead won't fall out.
I only buy open-stock, individual Prismacolor pencils, and I laugh at the thought of buying a box of 12, 24, 36, and so on.
And after I buy the pencils I put them on a warm, but not hot, heater for a day or so, and this takes care of almost all breakage issues.
(Off-centre leads are a total lost cause though, since they bend a little bit as you turn them in a pencil sharpener.)

ps - I have a sandwich bag with *hundreds* of tips from Prismacolor pencils, and I always bring that bag to the art store with me as a reminder to pay attention to each and every pencil that I grab. Lastly, I never grab more than two of any colour at any time to avoid a 'bad batch'. I started doing this after grabbing *five* white Prismacolors one day and *all five* had breakage issues.

I have heard this for ages and even though i’m a beginner and mostly use polychromos i have never had any breakages with prismacolor.
