    Awesome ideas! I heard something the other day about how much to charge. A person isn't paying for the time it took you to take the picture, their paying for the years it took you to learn how to take that picture. Great video!

      Thanks!
      I’ve heard that story “a lady saw Picasso at a restaurant and she’d him to draw something on a napkin, he did and said it be $10k, and she said wtf! 🤬 it took you 2 minutes! He said it took me 30 years to be able to do it in 2 minutes…
      And I totally agree, doing something and doing it well doesn’t necessarily mean expensive gear or an expensive set up

    some photos of my cellphone were approved by Shutterstock using a magic box, I call it that.. 😁 The used cardboard was punched and covered with white paper to let sunlight in.. even though it hasn't sold yet but I'm already happy... while continuing to learn from your videos and other peoples... You are awesome! Presented to you by my Peninsula College professor, who is one of the most incredible fantasy and portrait photographers (and digital artists) I have ever seen. She is my guiding light, a truly stellar mentor, so when she sent me here, I trusted her and was not disappointed in your advice and videos.
    Thanks so much for sharing this information with all of us newbies; it really means everything. New sub for sure!
    Cheers, Cat-

      Thank you, as photographers sometimes we have to do the jobs we don’t necessarily want to do, to afford the jobs we want to do… I thought this was a pretty good way to make some extra income.

    setup and equipment is the easy part. actually getting people to give you $$ to do it is another story. making a fiverr and people won't just start pouring in.

    • @wollertz
      @wollertz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed, Fiverr is a start, there’s still work to do, marketing and finding clients, but this is a start 🤷‍♂️

    • @drderrp
      @drderrp ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I suggest getting a few things out there on some stock sites as well. Gives a client some peace of mind that you can actually do what you're offering.

    Thank you. Good ideas about how to earn with this. I would love more for what I sell on etsy and product photography.. I have a light cube with led lights that I use for that about 18' each side.

    • @wollertz
      @wollertz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Perfect! Any cube will help, what I failed to mention in the video is that the smaller the cube the harsher the light, more distance from the light source (the cube panels) will soften the light, in your case with led lights it shouldn’t matter! I’ll have to get me one of those and test it! Cheers!

      Budget friendly, once the money starts coming in, I recommend upgrading to speed lights, or studio lights with different light modifiers. But this is a good way to start 🤷‍♂️

    Hi, question, I have a canon rebel T6 is this ok for shooting photography for Fiverr? Thanks

    • @wollertz
      @wollertz  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s fine, but I would upgrade as soon as you can, I just filmed a video on cameras I recommend (hopefully out in a week or two) the rebel lineup didn’t make the cut, but more than the camera a good lens makes a big difference

  • @johnpollock6996
    @johnpollock6996 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Really like this kind of content Charles. I have a question about the cube, you said the cube is 50", you appear to be sitting inside the cube during filming, on the Amazon linked page the cube is described three times as 50", but elsewhere on the same Amazon page, the dimensions of 20" x 20" x 12" is listed. Can you clear up that discrepancy? Thank you.

    • @wollertz
      @wollertz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ok, sorry about that, It was discontinued, I replaced the link with another 60" option. amzn.to/3EHR37V
      Mine I bought 12 years ago 😅, and it was easier to find the large cubes, now it's a little harder but there are still options. the price changed to $71 and not $60 but I believe it is still under $150 for everything!
      Thanks for pointing this out as I did not realize it when I searched for the links!

    Great , helpful unpretentious video- a rare thing these days. I've been a photographer for around 17 years and am looking at other ways of income , was considering trying stock but this looks appealing also. Could only find smaller pop up booths(am in uk) would these still be useable? or am i better trying to get the larger on like yours?

    • @wollertz
      @wollertz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi and thank you!
      Stock Photography is great but slow, a lot of time and effort for a couple of years before being results, but once you see the results they don't seem to stop.
      Product photography is what I do for extra income, I have a few steady clients that keep me busy.
      As far as the cube I did notice the lack of large cubes online, small cubes work just fine, keep in mind you might have to shoot indoors or double diffuse if you shoot outside, the closer the source is to the subject the stronger the light is, in the case of the large cube, the light source being the sun is diffused by the side of the cube making that the "source" and by placing the subjection the middle on the 50" cube the light will be softer than in the middle of a 24" cube.
      Hope this helps!

    How well will this work with a phone camera? They make them pretty good but idk I have z fold 4 and feel like my camera kind of sucks, or maybe it's the lighting idk. I tried doing a diy photobox and the pics come out super yellow no matter what light bulb I get...and even with lights all over the product, the lighting looks awful in the pics for some reason it's like super dark colors.

    • @wollertz
      @wollertz  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Phone cameras are a NO, they are good but not good enough, remember you are competing with people like me 🤷‍♂️. As far as the colors, try finding a way to control the white balance

    • @wollertz
      @wollertz  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      more than a cámara I would say a good lens, a 50mm or a telephoto like a 70-200mm, but again just like in every other business, the best you can afford. you can even buy used if you are on a tight budget, places like mpb.com have great gear, good prices and warranty @@waynefilkins8394
