Nice... I can see a lot of these locations based on my early videos, although many are just random locations it seems! It's great that Brian @ PS4Trophies was the first to find all 79 relics (i.e. 4F = F4 quadrant) which led to the secret door! xD.
Nomad, you're awesome. All your videos are so intriguing and amazing! All of your content is so detailed and epic. I love Shadow of the Colossus. It's been my favorite game since 2005! Of all time! And you go in to so much detail with the game, I love it! All your videos are so interesting and entertaining :)
Going through the game trying to collect all these again. This guide has been really helpful. Though I'm definitely gonna mark down the relics that require their respective Colossus' to be active so that I don't waste a lot of time running around like an idiot. 10:10 - Requires Dirge to be active 12:14 - Requires Quadratus to have been activated. Can still be collected after their death. 17:17 - 18:12 - Requires Argus to be active. 21:28 - Requires Avion to be active. 38:41 - 38:59 - 39:27 - 40:31 - 41:25 - 41:51 - Requires Malus to be the final active target
Watching you find this sword live last night was absolutely incredible! I had chills when you opened that door, I was practically bouncing with excitement! Great work and mad props to Nomad Colossus and the Bluepoint team!
I've always loved the ruins in this game's landscape. Makes me wonder what kind of civilization lived there and how such an expanse of land became forbidden.
It became forbidden because of dorman the people who lived there worshipped him but they realized he was evil so they sealed him and the left the land making it forbidden
You heavily underestimate Wander's ability to survive falls. He can easily survive a fall of over 40 meters. All colossi except the last one are much smaller than that. You can even jump off the 13th Colossus when he's flying over the desert and survive. You really don't have to use the parachute to save yourself.
My record is a little over 43.83 meters; the mechanics of falling damage in this game are weird. As you gain health from killing colossi and eating fruit, you'd think that you could survive falls from higher places. But that doesn't seem to be the case: either a fall does relatively little damage, or it kills you instantly, with nothing in-between.
@@totaldoraemono There are several coins that require the Cloth of Desperation: one just to the east of the big bridge on the big mesa, two near Argus' colosseum in the ruined city, etc. Some coins can be collected without it, but the parachute makes many of those much easier, as well.
@@TheZetaKai thanks, i just got it for the first time this evening, never thought i have it in me to beat the time attack in hard and i made it! time to toss a coin to your colossus oh valley of plentyyy
Lorena Cruz Correia This really should have been a comment that he made at the beginning of the video. Just spent two hours getting the first 38 only to find out I have to play nearly the entire game over again to get 39. Not worth it.
Anthony Benfante yeah I ended up doing it anyways and I think it only took 2 hours or so to get back to Argus. Turns out I was just being whiney. I still would have liked a warning, though.
A quick tip - To be able to hear the chime sound better go into audio options and set the Controller speaker thing to BOTH, so that it comes out of the controller AND the TV.
Best video of the Internet in 2018 hands down. Did anyone ever think that completing the 79 Paths to Enlightenment quest only opens "one" secret area which is where Dormin's Sword is located? There are other similar looking doors lined up on that side of the tower and perhaps completing another quest or mystery (goat?) will open the next door for another secret item reveal? And so forth and so on?
Just gunna add a tip here, i completed the game twice and climbed the towere. If you collected the parachute from time trials, there is a small wall you can jump over to the right around a third of the climb up the first wall. Rest here until your stamina is full, then jump around the side of the wall, and once you've gone about three quarters around the wall, activate the parachute and float towards the wall again. You will have lost about a meter of climb, but you will just have enough stamina to finish the climb.
I second this. I tried it last night and it works. Now if only some of these locations you can parachute to on the side of the tower contains the 5th goat painting!
Just to clarify in case anyone is confused or uncertain, you get the parachute after defeating 12 collosi in Hard Time Attack, not Normal Time Attack. Bluepoint went out of their way to make sure that only the most dedicated players have a chance at getting Dormin's Sword as you need to do multiple playthroughs to increase your stamina enough to get to the top and be able to beat most of the hard time attack challenges.....those are some heavy restrictions. I can do this as no doubt can most of the dedicated fans but most of the people playing this game won't be able to.
buddy that's how its been since the original and I'm pretty sure it took up until the 14th colossi beaten on Hard time attack. the parachute is a valuable item. and time attack on the ps4 version is much easier
Man I remember ps2 version, way back. Playing and beating this game multiple times, now here I am 30 years old and man I AM TRUDGING ALONG THRU MY QUEST YET AGAIN
Thanks for the guide! Just obtained my Sword of Dormin. While collecting the coins I ran into two glitches. First, I noticed Agro was knee deep in water when I was trying to reach her in the cave with the small island in it. She had a funny white hue and when I got close enough, she vanished. When I got out of the cave, I whistled for her and it took about 5 minutes for her to reach me. The second glitch was merely me clipping through one of the rocks trying to reach a relic, causing me to fall through the level and dying.
Same as the one who got this first but he manage to get this due to community effort. It's really great that everyone try to solve this quickly. Back in the days, it will takes months or years to resolve a secret!
To anyone struggling with missing just one relic, make sure that you go in the right hole for 77. I put so many hours into double checking the locations and all it was was a different hole. I went in the other one and thought I found 77 on my own earlier. Thanks so much Brian!!! You’re amazing!
I thought I would never have the patience to do this but thanks to this video I was able to do it in around 6 hours. 43 minute video but I must have watched it for around 7 or 8 hours overall. The amount of work you must have put into this is remarkable. Thanks so much for the guide, I have this sword because of you
I did it! I f’n did it! Got to 78, went relic by relic on double checking, and I had mixed up 63 with being on an unclimbable mountain, which is why the stone ring looked out of place to me on the 2nd go around. Thank you for everything you and your team do, Sir.
Just got the platinum, and will be doing this tomorrow, thanks for the great guides and help. #40 was my first, I hadn't had these spoiled for me yet so finding a mysterious object while just climbing for fun was absolutely amazing.
Aurum Arma Same, I found two by chance and felt like the most special sumbitch to ever live, then I found out that 1) the mistery had already been solved 2) I ain't got the patience to run in circles to get 79 of these shiny fuckers I guess that's life for you
I personally dont think this is the end Brian. The history of the game is that lord emon defated dormin and prisoned him in the shrine and seperated him into 16 colossus, and now as we saw by your stream that now we have the sword of dormin, so when you kill a colossus the black stuff that comes from the colossus when death should the sword absorb right? So when you kill them all, it might reveal dormin him self. And the second thing i noticed is when you killed the first colossus with the sword the sound is different, it was more like a scream sound, dormin hurting him self, thats why the eye of the sword turns red when you get close to the colossus, now i dont know if this is true, but you should give it a try.. nice job btw And the third thing, we all know how dormin looks. At the end of the game we play as dormin him self, trying to kill lord emon and his men, but maybe this time we would be able to fight dormin, as we play wander, but differently. In my head this seems right, but if it is, i dont know? But just a sword? I cant live with that we need more! Dont do it for me i really dont care but if you guys could like this comment so brian could see it, so maybe he will make a stream agian, and thank you very much.
I had to go back and see what you meant, and you're correct, the final blow sound is much different. Instead of the sword simply piercing through, it's like a death scream of sorts, which could mean that the sword finishing off all 16 could lead to something else. Maybe. Hopefully he'll test the theory out.
Hello, Just wanted to tell you that I haven't (personally) seen this much dedication with a game in a very long time and I salute you sir. I'm 41yrs old so I came from the golden age of video games and if you're old enough to remember, back then, dedication and determination was a religion; A religion that garnered attention and bragging rights among every one of your friends and peers in school haha. I know this isn't a lost past-time activity and it's been done as long as games have existed, but this was very fun and satisfying to watch. In closing, I'd like to say that this is the first video of yours I've seen and will definitely be punching that "subscribe button" right after I post this very comment. Godspeed and good luck.
I wish they had a marker for the Coins you've already got, I'm missing one and can't seen to find it, I didn't know these where supposed to be collected and didn't mark them until I've got already some of them.
Important detail : you cannot get the last G1 relic (at 18:11) in time attack nor in reminiscence mode because the game will consider that you left the boss arena and will ask you to either retry or quit the fight and then respawn you in the arena. So you have to get it during a regular playthrough while fighting colossus 15 (unless there is a way to reach the spot without his help).
Ikr, It’s unbelievable, I had my game set with only the 16th colossus left, as I thought this would be the best way to be prepared to reach all the points on the map with ease. Only to find out halfway through that I should also leave the 15th colossus alone. Any game that has something locked behind a barrier is usually a poor game, so it’s REALLY surprising that they did something like this. Nothing should be unattainable, and a player should not be forced to do something again or know something that isn’t natural/told to us by the game itself.
The 79 steps to enlightenment are based videos uploaded by Nomad Colossus, and community/fan attempts to find the 17th Colossus (The Last Secret searched for by The Secret Seekers). These are intentionally incredibly hard to find and for only the most dedicated lovers and diehard fans of SotC. My guess is that's also why there's no achievement for getting enlightened.
They honestly should've added a 17th colossus. This is already an amazing gift to lay all the Secret Seekers' efforts to rest, an easter egg to end everything, but just having one more, ONE more piece of lore that can keep the spark of curiosity going for just a bit longer would be hands-down the most legendary reward for one of the most famous games in the 21st century. I have never played this game, but seeing all the videos, the theories, the searching of every square inch of the world from the PS2 to PS4 era just leaves me restless. It's not Bluepoint's job to add significantly new content that adds to the world in a whole new way, but come on. It's like a decade-long novel series with an appropriate but underwhelming ending. Maybe they should've consulted Ueda on a design for a new Colossus, discussions on giving an answer in-game to some of the most popular theories, add some final cryptic dialogue/cutscene for this 17th colossus. What I, an observer, am asking for is not an answer to everything, but a proper ending to this whole journey. Maybe the secret room and sword has an event connected to it revealing...I don't know, a HINT of the origins of the Colossi? Are they natural beings? Gods? Or are they borne from a singular creator? Or creaTORS? One more piece of lore, I think, involving a 17th colossus, would be the most fitting farewell for all the extra and frankly unnecessary work done to tear this game to its bones because THAT'S how fascinating this world Ueda and his team have visualized is. The diehard fans should've deserved that much. Hell, if that 17th Colossus was made in the PS4 remake, maybe use TH-cam's copyright algorithm to strike people that try to spread it, letting players find it themselves (that's a bit extreme, I know). There were no proven literary connections apparent in the game, but man, if someone wrote a novel with this kind of cryptic world, I'd want them to have literary clues in it. Codes hidden between the lines, witch hunts to track down every single scrap of information.....There won't ever be a piece of work quite like SOTC.... Finding mysteries where they may be none, pushed forward completely by faith...
@@richardbigham4138 you should be able to collect two at any point, and the one in the tunnel must be during the main battle, not time attack or reminiscence mode.
I followed your video, despite having alrady found some, just to make sure I found every single coin, and when I got to the end of the bridge to collect the last one I noticed that it counted 77... I've heard there's people who've had a similar situation, and I imagine that one of them could be the one that dissapears in D7 or E8. So I guess I'll have to start over to find which one didn't register. By the way; this is a great effort, mate, thanks for taking the time to share this.
lol this was me earlier today. I used this(excellent) guide to polish off the 30-something coins I had left, but ended up missing a single one at the end. Luckily for me though, I found the one I needed relatively quickly- it was the one underwater at the shore. When I was using this guide I figured I had already grabbed it since it didn't seem to be around. Turns out I just didn't give that area a thorough enough sweep. Hope you find that last straggler without too much more frustration. The Dormin Sword is badass.
I defiintely LOVE the addition of these gold relics- I would spend hours just exploring in the PS2 and PS3 HD remake for really no reason - just to enjoy the scenery. But trying to find the gold relics gives me more of a purpose to explore the game. Not sure what made exploring this game so fun with nothing to find on the older versions, I just like messing with the terrain and trying to jump places you shouldn't be able to go in the game lol. I like glitchy things.
Same here. And this PS4 remake is loaded with many places you can go that wasn't possible before. In most cases, you'll have to die or restart once you've jumped or glided to a "forbidden area" & explored. But it's worth it just to discover all these places that some collision detection allowing you to safely land & walk around a little or take some rare pics.
Aha. Yes. Thank you, sir, for this contribution to the fandom and congratulations on this accomplishment. Although you are only a new fan, this will go in the history books alongside everything Nomad has done.
First I want to thank you, that you summarized these in a fairly short amount of time. It took my almost one day to get all the coins (minus the 18 or so, that I collected during normal game play). I don't want to imagine how long you guys needed to actually find every single one, since most only spawn when you're near them and their sound area is also pretty small for most. However, in the beginning you actually really follow a circle way starting from the center to the northwest and then west but then actually you jump to the very opposite northeast of the map, which didn't make it easier or quicker to collect all items. I really much would have preferred if you have kept going south west, south (skipping Malus) , south east and then go back up north passing by all the colossi areas until you reach Argus, since it is the last one, before you go to Malus and you'll be brought back to the temple automatically. Doing it like that in a consequent counter-clockwise way would have saved me and probably many other people a lot of time so since you guys already invested so much time to help others save some of that time, re-editing the video, so that you keep your initial statement of the circle way of picking up the items, may be something you want to do for your audience. Anyway, thank you a lot for your efforts and keep up the good work.
I remember playing this game as a kid, beat on normal once, 16 times on hard just because I loved the game. Maxing out your health and stamina was a challenge in itself. Getting all the swords and cloaks, fruit and lizard stones. Amazing story, amazing fights, I only found a handful of those coins until this video stream, congrats man on finding them all. It's one of the best games in my opinion.
Thank you so much for this video! It helped me get all 79 coins plus your other videos helped me get platinum. Thank you so much for making this video, it’s amazing!
Thank you very much for your work and thanks to the community. I finally found the last one I was missing, it was number six and I could really swear I picked that up the first time I went for it so I think the game kinda glitched and didn’t count it idk. Anyway after going through all locations 2 frocking times I could give nothing for granted and had to check places I knew for sure I already checked and got the coin, like the number six. Anyway I finally did it, you can do it too just check every spot when you are missing one, even if you’re sure you already got that one.
Congratulations on finding all the relics. Loved the streams, couldn't have been easy streaming all those hours to find a few coins. I really got into it even though I don't even own the game but I think you've convinced me to buy it now! (have you got the relic across the waterfall?)
This is a phenomenally helpful video, thank you. I was so curious what these were when I stumbled on my first one. For reference I got #19 first as I had made a habit of climbing every shrine I came across once I learned they give you those gorgeous panoramic views.
In my first search I not only climbed every prayer shrine but I climbed every climbable tree too. I was actually very surprised that no tree had a gold coin hidden on it's branches. The first gold coin I found was in the forest cave. In the preview for the game I noticed a tree had fallen over in the forest. I knew that wasn't there in the original, so the first thing I did was go to the forest to see if you could actually walk on that log. I then found the cave & my first gold coin.
Excellent video guide, I couldn’t have got them all without this! IGN’s guide with snapshots was helpful, but it was often hard to find just the right spot to climb that matched the static image. Also, you showing that you need to fluff the Cloth of Desperation, rather than just gliding, to reach the relic from Avion, colossus #5, was the reason why I kept failing. Thanks so much! I don’t know how you found all these on your own, truly amazing!
This is REALY cool. And to be honest: the first secret weapon I had bad feelings about getting it. Nothing about this weapon makes it look Like I should use this, especialy the laughter when getting it.
I'm new to you're channel. I'm not a hard core trophy hunter. But I do try to get platinum for my fav games I love playing like this one. Thank you bro and looking forward to you're future uploads.🤙🏾
You don't have to collect this for trophy but I bet you will do this since as you said this is your fav game :) and the sword of dormin looks sick haha
there's even another mystery! There are goat painting through out the map. In the discord 3 are found so far. That adds to another mystery lol. We still don't know what's that for
Well, I followed the guide (I thought) and I have 78 of 79. Great. On another note, thank you for this video man, it's such a great guide and awesome for some motivational exploration of this beautiful game. Thank you.
Hi Bryan. Record these words from Dormin and go the other way !!! In the first game and in the remake of pS3 the speeches of the dormin were Japanese speaking Japanese, but turned upside down. In this Remake are Japanese speaking English, with a lot of accent, turned upside down. It seems to me that the dormin speaks soon when one enters "light" and when one is near the sword "pray", giving to you clues. I think the sword is broken and you have to take it somewhere. The goats form an arrow and the arrow is not pointing to a quadrant, but to one of the colossi on the side of the map (added things are related, like the door that opens and reveals the sword of dormin) I can not identify which colossus is pointing, but there must be something in his arena. Possibly pointing the sword somewhere in that arena the dormin will speak the next clue. The nomad said that the sword is only the beginning of the secret and I think this is the way to solve everything.
I bought it cause I want to speedrun this game (Private for me) and now I got all trophys in one week and this is a Extra so I get it as well. I dont watched guides from you, but I watch this one so Thank you very much. I just wanted to leave a nice comment her for you. Good Job :D Greetings from Germany also.
Unfortunately, I caught the flu that's been going around the day the remake was released here in the US, so while I played over the last few days I couldn't even finish the game once because I felt so crappy. Thank you for your dedication in this! And thank you everyone for working together! This was truly an incredible moment in gaming history.
Holy crap! Like 2 solid days of work and wound up with 78. Started back from the beginning with a checklist. I have almost all of them memorized. But I realized it as soon as I saw it. #54. So simple and so close, yet I never went into that area, and that part was so short that I totally missed it. Got em all!
Thank you. I used this to complete the game 120% max competition a goal I have had since the game was announced. Finally I will be able to reach the "last secret"
Sometimes is hard to determine where exactly is the palce located on the video, but because the lighting of the game is static, it helps as a good point of reference in certain areas. Good guide though. Already on the mid 50s.
I was thinking about a combination of elements like the wander skin with horns + dormin sword + adorned agro + something else. Maybe if you beat like that.....
HOLY FRISKYS! Thank you for having this guide exist. This would never have been completed without yours and the communities help. I do have to say though; I am a bit frustrated that the only way to get that one relic/gold coin in the broken grate and drain at Colossus 15 is to do WHEN you fight it the main time. You can't do it on Time Trial because they strip you of your special items (the parachute) and you were right about not being able to do it in Reminiscence mode since if you get too far away from the colossus it acts as a out of bounds moment and game over's you. Wish the developers had thought of a better way to get that last one WITHOUT being the only one YOU HAVE TO GET BEFORE BEATING THE COLOSSUS THE FIRST TIME.
Wow, thanks for this! I thought I was being thorough during my recent playthrough, but I only managed to locate 42. They really did an amazing job hiding these!
Has anyone tried using the fruit to lower their health and then the sword to see if they can die during the dormin fight? because the sword has lower health regen
ive been thinking of this for years but if you have enough stamina to get to the garden, chances are the fruit won't be enough to make you die. so i haven't tried it yet
Hey everybody. Just wanted to let you know some important stuff about #39. In the video, you mention that you can't reach it in reminiscence mode (which is true. For some reason you get a "Game Over" screen before you can get to it.) You also said you didn't know if you could get it in Time Attack Mode. I tried it and the answer is NO YOU CAN NOT. In Time Attack Mode all the items you have earned are taken away from you, this includes the parachute which I'm pretty sure you have to have to get to this item. This ended up being pretty annoying for me because I had already defeated Colossus 15 before I tried to get this item so I actually had to start a new game just to get this one. So for some unknown reason, YOU CAN ONLY GET #39 IN THE NORMAL GAME MODE. (Someone already mentioned this but I thought I'd warn people since I had to start a new game just for this one item)
I just want to say thank you. I had a map and I would mark off all of the relics that I got. But just like everything else I do I somehow managed to mess up. So when I thought I knew where the last relic was it turned out I had already grabbed it. So I was left clueless as to where the last relic was located. I have a pretty good memory so I distinctly remember picking up each relic. Turns out the one that I was missing was relic #50 (26:05). For some reason I didn’t remember picking it up so I went to look and sure enough it was there. THANK YOU 🤣🤣🤣
OMG! Thank you buddy, I had used the guide of IGN twice and I noticed that they didn’t add the gold coin #50 and thank to you I obtained the Sword of Dormin! 😎
For those who have trouble getting #61, it's because of how the camera is. It like thinks the camera is the player and so you're too far away. Jam the camera up against the rocks and it should spawn, but make sure you keep the camera there otherwise you won't be able to grab it.
Thanks for the video, and taking the time to make it. Nice job on how you collected the coins/relics in order. Also, thanx for not having so much ads in your video. :)
The colossi you must engage in battle with (in order) Avion- 21:30 Durge (sandworm)- 10:10 Argus- 17:22 and 18:14 Malus- 38:59 39:29 40:32 41:27 41:50 Some of the Malus ones don’t really need you to engage with but you can’t enter this area unless it’s time to battle him
I just finished collecting all the fragments, I will take Dormin Sword and then eat the fruit of the secret garden, unlocking the platinum trophy. THANK YOU so much for helping me in this amazing videogame 😊
I can remember when i found my first coin and I was wondering what that is because I could not remember anything like that from the ps2 version. Now I found all of them and this video made it possible. Just want to thank you and all the people that helped to make this possible👍🏻
The 79 relics are a reference to a series of threads about the origional Ps2 game, a group of people including Arcadia and Nomad Colossus, 2 players who used an emulator to exploit the game and tore the thread wide open. The relics are locations dedicated to those threads and secrets and the "final secret" the sword of dormim which was added in the PS4 remake as a tribute to that series of threads
Great video bro, great job helping the community. I'm sure this took a lot of hard work and dedication. Now the community can help and find the other secrets (if there are any) hoping there really is
I thought I was following this video piece by piece, but I'm missing one single coin! I guess the only thing I can do is search every single spot again... Thank you so much for this guide.
Dunno if you'll see my comment considering this is an old video and you probably get hundreds a day at this point, but I wanted to thank you for this video. I don't think I'd find all relics on my own, and this really helped (even if I technically made a big mistake and skipped one somehow without realizing it).
A little late to comment but i managed to scale the shrine of worship after only beating it once, you just have to kind of use some trickery and regain stamina, but it did take me like 7 times lol
I followed the guide and somehow still missed 1, went back checking all the spots one by one and it was 20 B4 somehow lol not sure what happened. Now I’ve got platinum, every item/skin, and every relic too. Thanks for the awesome guides, they’re still great help all these years later :)
2006 I remember playing this game so many times I could easily just use this video as a reference. Now it’s 2024, I am almost 30 but now going through this game again, I am back at my great aunts house, and now I have the joy of actually having a reward for going and finding these out of the way places. I am going to get all these relics, I have to. For the younger me lol
Nice... I can see a lot of these locations based on my early videos, although many are just random locations it seems! It's great that Brian @ PS4Trophies was the first to find all 79 relics (i.e. 4F = F4 quadrant) which led to the secret door! xD.

Going through the game trying to collect all these again. This guide has been really helpful. Though I'm definitely gonna mark down the relics that require their respective Colossus' to be active so that I don't waste a lot of time running around like an idiot.
10:10 - Requires Dirge to be active
12:14 - Requires Quadratus to have been activated. Can still be collected after their death.
17:17 - 18:12 - Requires Argus to be active.
21:28 - Requires Avion to be active.
38:41 - 38:59 - 39:27 - 40:31 - 41:25 - 41:51 - Requires Malus to be the final active target
Thank you so much mate

Finding them is fun until you have one left and you don’t know where it is and so you have to check all the spots again....
I just ran into that same situation today. :/
I can't find the last one... F@$#

GUYS DONT END THE GAME BEFORE GETING THE RELICS BECAUSE YOU NEED 15th COLOSSUS TO BE ALIVE TO GET RELIC 39
Lorena Cruz Correia This really should have been a comment that he made at the beginning of the video. Just spent two hours getting the first 38 only to find out I have to play nearly the entire game over again to get 39. Not worth it.
It doesn't take that long to power through the colossi. If you're going for a platinum you need to beat the game multiple tinmes anway.
Anthony Benfante yeah I ended up doing it anyways and I think it only took 2 hours or so to get back to Argus. Turns out I was just being whiney. I still would have liked a warning, though.
I've been finding coins in Colossi arenas during Time Attack.
If I finish the game, do my current relics go into the new mode as long as there in the same file?
A quick tip - To be able to hear the chime sound better go into audio options and set the Controller speaker thing to BOTH, so that it comes out of the controller AND the TV.
Best video of the Internet in 2018 hands down.
Did anyone ever think that completing the 79 Paths to Enlightenment quest only opens "one" secret area which is where Dormin's Sword is located?
There are other similar looking doors lined up on that side of the tower and perhaps completing another quest or mystery (goat?) will open the next door for another secret item reveal? And so forth and so on?
For number 38 you'll have to be in reminiscent mode. In time attack you can't use the cloth of desperation
Once idk how but I used Agro and glitched onto the rocks by the gate opening and climbed the tower.
Cheater
Just to clarify in case anyone is confused or uncertain, you get the parachute after defeating 12 collosi in Hard Time Attack, not Normal Time Attack. Bluepoint went out of their way to make sure that only the most dedicated players have a chance at getting Dormin's Sword as you need to do multiple playthroughs to increase your stamina enough to get to the top and be able to beat most of the hard time attack challenges.....those are some heavy restrictions. I can do this as no doubt can most of the dedicated fans but most of the people playing this game won't be able to.
buddy that's how its been since the original and I'm pretty sure it took up until the 14th colossi beaten on Hard time attack. the parachute is a valuable item. and time attack on the ps4 version is much easier
you really tried to brag here bruh
No shit sherlock, there's no need to brag about something stupid as you being able to do it too
Anybody can do it
Man I remember ps2 version, way back.
Was the rock you clipped through the one at C4? Because that happened to me too! I got some screenshots from that moment lmao
Both those things happened to me that's crazy
I would never have the patience for this
Matt M same here 😂
Same as the one who got this first but he manage to get this due to community effort. It's really great that everyone try to solve this quickly. Back in the days, it will takes months or years to resolve a secret!
Timur Kral what
Timur Kral Urm fuck off?
Timur Kral You’re such a weird person
To anyone struggling with missing just one relic, make sure that you go in the right hole for 77. I put so many hours into double checking the locations and all it was was a different hole. I went in the other one and thought I found 77 on my own earlier. Thanks so much Brian!!! You’re amazing!
Yo, I know This comment is 5 years old, but huge thanks, you saved me double checking every location!
@@dumbjack228 so happy to have helped!! This is my favorite game, but I’ve needed a long break from it after getting the platinum lol

Aurum Arma Same, I found two by chance and felt like the most special sumbitch to ever live, then I found out that 1) the mistery had already been solved 2) I ain't got the patience to run in circles to get 79 of these shiny fuckers

79 coins
7+9=16
There are 16 colossi
woah Illuminati confirmed!
O SHIT
holy shit
Why you gota do that to my head?
Illuminati?
I personally dont think this is the end Brian. The history of the game is that lord emon defated dormin and prisoned him in the shrine and seperated him into 16 colossus, and now as we saw by your stream that now we have the sword of dormin, so when you kill a colossus the black stuff that comes from the colossus when death should the sword absorb right? So when you kill them all, it might reveal dormin him self.
And the second thing i noticed is when you killed the first colossus with the sword the sound is different, it was more like a scream sound, dormin hurting him self, thats why the eye of the sword turns red when you get close to the colossus, now i dont know if this is true, but you should give it a try.. nice job btw
And the third thing, we all know how dormin looks. At the end of the game we play as dormin him self, trying to kill lord emon and his men, but maybe this time we would be able to fight dormin, as we play wander, but differently. In my head this seems right, but if it is, i dont know? But just a sword? I cant live with that we need more!
Dont do it for me i really dont care but if you guys could like this comment so brian could see it, so maybe he will make a stream agian, and thank you very much.
salahuddin 98 I totally believe in your theory
I had to go back and see what you meant, and you're correct, the final blow sound is much different. Instead of the sword simply piercing through, it's like a death scream of sorts, which could mean that the sword finishing off all 16 could lead to something else. Maybe. Hopefully he'll test the theory out.
Jordan Bejines hopefully he will.
Dernier Évolo thanks, it couldnt sound more right, a sword? There must be more
Note: I believe the relic on the lower bridge level was based on this video:

Subscribed ;)
That moment when you finish playing alongside the video and your relic count is 78.

I wish they had a marker for the Coins you've already got, I'm missing one and can't seen to find it, I didn't know these where supposed to be collected and didn't mark them until I've got already some of them.
This took so much dedication and the community thanks you so much for it!
Thanks a lot! Is the #38 relic has this problem also?
The 79 steps to enlightenment are based videos uploaded by Nomad Colossus, and community/fan attempts to find the 17th Colossus (The Last Secret searched for by The Secret Seekers). These are intentionally incredibly hard to find and for only the most dedicated lovers and diehard fans of SotC. My guess is that's also why there's no achievement for getting enlightened.
Thanks for the heads up! Also, you can't use the parachute in Time Attack anyways, so the previous one isn't possible in Time Attack either
You sir… are the real MVP.
Absolute GOAT. Aside from Nomad of course. xD lol but pert near!
When you miss 1 of the relic and you don't know what one it is💀💀
is there still no way to tell where you found each one cuz I'm missing one i really would hate to go back to every spot and check again
Aw man... really? x( that sucks.
Same situation. Could swear I've gone thru all locations shown in the video. 😢
Same here 😭
The Argus relic you're supposed to get after you've defeated him is bugged and won't appear for me
@@richardbigham4138 you should be able to collect two at any point, and the one in the tunnel must be during the main battle, not time attack or reminiscence mode.
Finally, all our work has paid off.
You've done a magnificent job with this game Brian I applaud you for your dedication on this masterpiece your success is well deserved
I’m literally missing one and I’m going to lose my mind
lol this was me earlier today.
The Dormin Sword is badass.
me too
Damn man, this must've taken some time. I really appreciate all the work you put into this stuff!
+- seven lives . +40 h
So glad to find this. Ty for making this. Been a fan since the first release on ps2 and Im so happy there is still stuff for me to do.
Yes this absolutely will
Dante #MafiaDMC history books? Wtf
Has he helped initiate world peace?!
GTD: GAMING TILL DEATH it's a figure of speech ya big literal larry
6:47 "sometimes they have clouds in it sometimes they don't" they disappear from the area after you beat a colossus
And when you're inside that colossus' arena if you haven't beaten it yet.
cool you share this with the guys makes it very easy to find the relics
Seriously incredible that they did this. Such a glorious game. It definitely deserved all the more detail.
19:26, I put this just to remember where I stoped, thanks very helpful.
Sand snake colossus,
2nd colossus,
15th colossus 2 coins,
This is REALY cool.
And to be honest: the first secret weapon I had bad feelings about getting it. Nothing about this weapon makes it look Like I should use this, especialy the laughter when getting it.
That laughter is creepy & I'm sure it makes a lot of us feel that the sword holds a secret that has yet to be discovered.
I'm new to you're channel. I'm not a hard core trophy hunter. But I do try to get platinum for my fav games I love playing like this one. Thank you bro and looking forward to you're future uploads.🤙🏾
if you want to play this game and get the Platinum trophy you don't have to collect all 79 of this Gold coins to get the Platinum
You don't have to collect this for trophy but I bet you will do this since as you said this is your fav game :) and the sword of dormin looks sick haha
Ghost656 Metal True but I'm going just do it to explore everywhere
roy orellano Hahaha you are totally right just to go everywhere in the world. And yeah the Sword of Dormin does look badass
there's even another mystery!
#45 G4 can be reached without parachute if you jump a last moment.
This guide is proving VERY useful. Thanks for taking the time to produce it :)
That moment when you realize you've marked off one of them incorrectly and now have to go back and look for all of them again...... fml
I bought it cause I want to speedrun this game (Private for me) and now I got all trophys in one week and this is a Extra so I get it as well.
I dont watched guides from you, but I watch this one so Thank you very much. I just wanted to leave a nice comment her for you.
Good Job :D
Greetings from Germany also.
*Have you tried to kill all the colossus with this sword to see what happens, Brian?*
It killed Valus in one hit.
I was thinking about a combination of elements like the wander skin with horns + dormin sword + adorned agro + something else. Maybe if you beat like that.....
carai amazing bilingue
+Vinicius Teixeira é fi, tem q ser
+Euchre FGC I know, but I'm talking about all the colossus, not only the 1st
Do the coins you collect carry over into your new game plus runs? Or do you have to find all of them in one run?
They stay with you
I hope so
They stay
Douglas Gelain thank god. I have to restart to do Colossus 15
You managed to find 42 without a guide? Damn bro, I mean I wasn’t out right searching for them, but I found like, I think 4-5😂
So it's not just the platinum I have to grind for, I have to grind for this sword. Challenge accepted.
We will be in the year 2093 and this game will still surprise us and bring secrets. Simply the best game out there.
Yeah. It's literally my favorite game of all time ever
This will definitely help me out with finding the coins in order to get the Sword of Dormin. Thanks!
Has anyone tried using the fruit to lower their health and then the sword to see if they can die during the dormin fight?
because the sword has lower health regen
You think that's worth the trouble?...I got the bloody useless sword
ive been thinking of this for years but if you have enough stamina to get to the garden, chances are the fruit won't be enough to make you die. so i haven't tried it yet
@@dramamine755 You can actually reach the shrine after beating 11 Colossi and eating two shining Lizard tails :)

Just got Platinum yesterday and just got this today cause your help, thank you so much
Hey everybody. Just wanted to let you know some important stuff about #39.
In the video, you mention that you can't reach it in reminiscence mode (which is true. For some reason you get a "Game Over" screen before you can get to it.)
You also said you didn't know if you could get it in Time Attack Mode.
Up until I saw this video, I had no idea what the golden sparkles were. Thanks, man!

This is by far, one of the most necessary guide in gaming history.
Thanks for the video, and taking the time to make it. Nice job on how you collected the coins/relics in order. Also, thanx for not having so much ads in your video. :)
Leaving this to remind myself how far I am in the guide.
Rechecking them all after all this time to see which I had missed. Have rechecked first 10.
The colossi you must engage in battle with (in order)
Avion- 21:30
Durge (sandworm)- 10:10
Argus- 17:22 and 18:14
Malus- 38:59
39:29
40:32
41:27
41:50
Some of the Malus ones don’t really need you to engage with but you can’t enter this area unless it’s time to battle him
I just finished collecting all the fragments, I will take Dormin Sword and then eat the fruit of the secret garden, unlocking the platinum trophy.
Now the community can help and find the other secrets (if there are any) hoping there really is
I took forever to do this, thank you for this guide
Hey, just wanted to say thank you to you and your community that helped you, watched your time attack’s and this to get all the collectibles.
Great man!
I did all in one day thanks to you 💪🏻
GOAT THEORY
There was one goat on Dirge's cave and today we discovered another. The discord chat is still working on it to figure out if it means anything.
Jaewon Lee they have found 3 small paintings of a goat in different sections of the game, so far nobody knows what they are for
Goateverywhere bro
anyone tried R2+square on those goats yet?
Can you give me the name of the discord server
6:46 well, the clouds disappear as you defeat colossi
Thank you for making this guide!! I just managed to grab my last gold coin and the item is amazing and totally worth all the effort! Thanks again :D
Thanks for grinding.
Just followed this from start to finish. Got to hand it to you. This video must have taken a long while to edit. Thanks for the guide 👍🏻
A little late to comment but i managed to scale the shrine of worship after only beating it once, you just have to kind of use some trickery and regain stamina, but it did take me like 7 times lol
Diagonal Jump Glitch?
I followed the guide and somehow still missed 1, went back checking all the spots one by one and it was 20 B4 somehow lol not sure what happened. Now I’ve got platinum, every item/skin, and every relic too. Thanks for the awesome guides, they’re still great help all these years later :)
man your devotion & work ethic to this game in unreal
Knowing the history behind the creation of this sword makes this freaking beautiful, dude.
