You are a pure pure genius. I just started this today and I got it once but I am so exhilarated. You are so goooood. My ankles are bruised and I dont want to try more. Also, to everyone out there - I am one of those who goes through all the comments before going ahead to know how tough a move is and then never try it. But I will just say its just tough in our head. We can all get this. Deanne so much love ❤
I did this for the first time at our weekly spin jam! I was practicing and when I finally got it, a man came up and said I did it beautifully! I came to find out that he is a well known instructor in the area! Thanks Deanne!
Amazing! I've been hooping for 5 years and couldn't figure this out. I looked the trick up and this was the first "professional" looking tutorial I found as a hoopdance instructor myself, the way this was described and executed makes it super simple to learn!
You are such a great teacher, and you couldn't have timed this any better! This is the trick I've been having trouble with lately. Off to give this a try! Thanks.
I've been trying to learn this trick the old school way you described. I had no luck with it and that way hurt my ankles! Thanks for this video! Finally on my way to mastering this trick.
Thanks to you I got it! Its so interesting to try something over and over one way and then just have it click when its explained differently or modified.
Hey. I love all of your videos, they've helped so much! I'm still having a bit of trouble with this one though. I seem to be dragging the hoop on the floor when I try to spin it. You seem to have it lifted a bit from the first little spin, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that. Any thoughts? Thank you so much!
After 2 days of practice, I was able to do this trick.. though not as smooth as yours.. but at least! My ankles hurt, but I don't mind. ;) Thanks for this tutorial!! :)
Deanne Love Thank you - got polypro hoop for now - I think I shell master a simple hoop before even trying a circus one again. Love your videos - incredibly helpful.
I have been struggling so bad with this move. I have been trying to learn this for about 9 months and i just dont get it. My ankle starts to really hurt and i cant figure out how to kick it up in the right spot. Ive watched this video many times, and it makes sense, its just not clicking for me :(
I'm about 177cm. Not terrible tall, but it makes me clumbsy :P It takes me a long time to learn new tricks and when I finally get it, it looks very awkward.
Okay, so i can start it and kick it up, But i cant put my foot back in the hoop without screwing the flow :S hardest part. I cant get to stick the foot back in or bring the hoop up to my hips, it seems impossible
If you are a beginner and you are just learning how to body hoop and you want to do it with correct posture and timing then consider a dance hoop made of HDPE of similar. If you want something faster then polypro is a better tubing.

Yes that happens a lot in hooping sometimes it is just the little shifts that can unlock stuff! Glad you got it!
I have been trying this for months but couldn't find any videos that explained it...Thanks soo much! I will definitely use this

Are you super tall? Do you feel like that impacts on your success?

Thanks for this tutorial!! :)
Yes it can be a killer on the ankles but hopefully this way is less painful for you! Let me know!
Hi! What weight, material, and diameter of hoop is this?? Thanks :D
Very nice 👌
I am really struggling with this:( is there any suggestions that can help me get this down faster?
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Please do this in small hula hoop
Send me a video response if you like and I will help you out!
Awesome! Is that any difference with aluminium hoops? I am all bruesed up!
eelsoukov Aluminium hoops would be too hard because they have no spring or bounce to them.
Deanne Love Thank you - got polypro hoop for now - I think I shell master a simple hoop before even trying a circus one again. Love your videos - incredibly helpful.
Omg its gonna take me a while to get that, soo hard
thank you soon much
Would it be better to use my lighter hoop for this or my heavier one 🤷♀️ Dumb question 😹😅
Odd question, but how tall are you?

What are the best hula hoops to use? I know a lot of performers use the poly pro... but would a large kids hoop do the same job? xx

+MynameisJessie I'm using warmers on my ankles to not get bruised, you could try this while you dont master the move.
