Madonna is an icon. When you realize this woman catalog of songs contains so many hits. Those of us who grew up during the Michael/prince /Whitney era know Madonna was making us dance and feel all kinds of ways. People need to put some respect on her name.

@@Readyteddygo Well, she have sang all of her 40+ years career. Shes over 60 years, this is brilliant for being that age! I think she sounds great and I dont even like Madonna that much. However, I think most people bash her for her age and for being outspoken, but they know that sounds stupid so they have to pick on the smallest things possible. Its quite sad, because this woman is history, a legend and a living icon.
She does almost all of her biggest songs in every tour she does lol. The Rebel Heart tour he mentioned had an entire segment of 80s.
Like a Prayer is also a great, older song of hers. And I love that original video with the statue. 👍

PDC1987 well yes, sort of, but she needs such a tour where she performs more classics such as Borderline. Sadly Madame X Tour consists of 75% of tracks from new album with her mic heavily autotuned in line with the album’s vocals, a shame really, especially as her tours usually give us 50:50 old to new tracks at least :( a catalogue as big as hers and she only manages to slot in 5 “classic” tracks and some snippets of others here and there - its almost like she’s teasing us to be cruel. Hopefully her next release is a second Something to Remember style ballads greatest hits album, or something similar, and she tours that around theatres as soon as possible.

She is one of the last living pop legends from the 80's still around. It's sad and reminds me how fast time flies because it feels like just yesterday, I was dancing in the living room with my sister to this song as a kid. I am thankful however, that I had a chance to live through and enjoy all the greats like Michael, Prince, Whitney, David Bowie and others while they were in their prime. Great artist are fading away, but their music lives on. Cheers!
Seriously, I could have written the same post that you did. I too am proud to have been around when the TRULY great and iconic music superstars - Madge, MJ, Prince, Whitney, Whitney, Janet, George Michael and Mariah - ruled the charts and pop culture.
Perfectly said, I too am a child of that era, actually, older, from the 70s, but I remember going to the record store to buy her albums. I still have them, protective sleeves and all.
I am a few years younger then Madonna and have listened to her most of my life. She keeps evolving creatively and keeping it fresh!

For an artist who’s primarily famous for dance/pop and controversies, this woman truly has an incredible catalog of ballads, that even artists who are primarily famous for their ballads would be envious of. 💙

What an unexpected treat! Though her voice has changed considerably over the years, hearing such a living icon performing one of her earliest hits is nothing short of stunning. Waves of nostalgia.
To me, it's more that she's actually fully live, and with a live band. No lipsynched backing tracks for her vocals, or the music... something that she hasn't done for a long long time on her tours.
AND performing one of her best ever songs in almost the same way it was recorded originally, rather than trying to make it 'current and destroying it's essence'... just superb for so many reasons.

I think it's more that she's lost her stamina and vocal strength with age and lack of practice to be honest. It's a shame really but she's still a great artist, just not sure about all this madame x stuff

This is one of my favourite Madonna songs and wow what an incredibly beautiful, intimate version this is. A true icon of pop and still going strong!
She is a legend. She has had a huge impact on music, culture and fashion. Her music has stood the test of time. I believe she is a very hard working artist. There aren’t that many female singers today that can match to her talent.
This song gave me the courage to come out in an all-boys catholic college prep high school. I performed it at my senior prom with my boyfriend watching me and crying, as everybody was booing me and throwing things on the stage. I knew it was 100% worth it, though, because of THIS song, and that boyfriend (now husband)

Girl idc what people say, i love her voice, she has a unique color and emotion. She may not be able to hit very high notes as vocalists do, but she has something better for me, her voice can fit every genre she tries and her discography proves it, that's more rare!

Man i tell you,when i was 20 years of age i had the biggest crush on her, she was and still is beatiful im 60 years of age now and when i listen to her early music it brings tears of nostalgia to my eyes,i remember my youth and how much fun i had growing up and going to most of the clubs in L.A . I miss all my friends and all i had at the time,had a good paying job ,had a nice car,nice clothes and was very lucky with pretty women, thats all ,i just wanted to share that . Adios.

There's just no one like Madonna. She simply exudes something larger than life . . . call it Star Power or whatever, but you just can't take your eyes off her. Mariah, Britney and Jennifer are all fine and good, but Madonna possesses an intelligence that they don't. Others may be better vocalists but they certainly aren't better dancers.
