Wolves also have a high sense of self-preservation, they usually try to avoid any prey that could inflict serious injury. A larger pack allows them to take that risk with larger animals. When it comes to dogs, self-preservation varies as they generally don’t have to contend with the same variables that wolves do. Some breeds have no self-preservation at all; these same breeds also tend to fight to the death with every encounter which would not bode well in the wild as natural selection typically doesn’t favor hyper-aggression

This comment section is either full with: Wolves smart, wolves strongest. Their teamwork makes them unbeatable. No dogs can ever win against a wolf
Or with: Ovcharka would rip them all to shreds they're like bears and shit
Honestly. Caucasian Ovcharka and the Turkish Kangal are the ones who can In 1v1 if bred for it, most often actually win against wolves or even kill them but no wolf can survive a pack of those shepherds just like no shepherd will survive a wolf pack.
Remember, just because you read reports of wolves devouring shepherd dogs like them. It does not mean one is better
Such dogs are bred for murdering wolves and barking them away. The better question is, how would a group of ovcharkas or kangal handle a group of wolves?

Most people do not have understanding about the purpose LSG dogs. They are not there to kill the wolf, they are there to detere it, or keep it busy long enough for the. Herder to get his gun. If it fought every predator, the owner would pay high vet bills, or it would be dead quickly. Which is costly since these dogs aren't cheap. All of this talk about the dog killing a wolf is just people living out their insecurities through their dogs.

@0f392k49fg91h7fg893j it is a livestock guardian dog. It has been over 2,000 years. It also like many other breeds have been trained for other purposes. Decended from the Tibetan Mastiff which would explain their aggression. There are different representations of the breed though. The Russians wouldn't have to do anything to make them more aggressive than they already are. The people who bred those dogs also purposely bred their dogs with the wolf to make it stronger, and a more effective fighter, and also to help it adapt to the harsh environment. They had to breed the dog periodically to the wolf or over time it would lose those advanages over the generations.

In the wild, the canines, wolves in this case are "just the right sized" they really can be too big, or too small. Too small and they can't make the kills they need to make. Too large and like ALL predators that failed, they will be too bulky and need too much food. No, they are the size evolution has made them, breeding a dog to be bigger--proves nothing really, except the obvious, that it is bigger. Out in the wild, it could never keep up, as it would tired too easily. Look at the "Liger" on the Feline side, Way bigger than a Lion, or a Tiger, yet in the wild today, it would not be quick enough to catch the animals that exist today. Impressive sure, but nature long ago weeded it out. Same thing here and that is of course, nothing against this large, beautiful dog.

yeah im pretty sure the caucasion would destroy that wolve. you can also tell by their body language who is superior at least in their eyes. the wolve never made eye contact with the caucasion, always looked away. Acctually saddens one to see this beautiful wild and strong animal be intimidated by that dog, anyway, But the caucasion is no regular dog. Im fairly certain that wolves will be able to dominate most other dog breeds, even the ones bigger than themselves, but again apart from the caucasion, since the caucasion just has a different mentality than most other dog breeds it is bred to charge and kill other predators, you dont fuck with them unless youre at least just as big.

As he should be man we dont really understand how intimidating a wolf is these are not high breed wolf's these are full blooded wolf's will give any dog breed a problem you have some dogs that will put up a better fight than others put over all the wolf will kill them with ease.
