I have watched a number of these UTube "producers" talk about how they make money. Reality check. Non of them seem to make money from there supposed expertise of making beats. They make money from us watching them do infotainment. Not from actually being a working Musician/producer. One guy even admitted that's it really hard to make money as strictly a producer. You have to be really really good not average but good professional good. The industry has a interest in promoting the "anyone even you" can become a professional music producer making big money etc. Not the reality. Example they sell millions of say guitars, right. How many people around the world learn to play well enough to actually make a living from playing the guitar. Like very very very few right? Same way with modem music production very few people will be able to actually become good enough to make a living full time from music. 90 plus percent never will never. It takes years of work contacts etc to make it. You have to be very very good very good. And focused,for years.You have to know something about music theory. Production. Business. Try to find the few people who are on UTube who actually make money from there music not just from UTube. How many working musician have a big UTube channel? Not many.They don't have time cause there working. I am not knocking these guys glad to see them making money doing something they enjoy and are good at,making UTube content. But that's not what I want to be. I've been a working musician bands etc. Now switching to Electronic music production. It's going to take years of learning and working to get back to that. I accept that. Hopefully I'll get good enough to pay my bills. And a little more. But you young guys understand there are no short cuts none. Lucky yeah sometimes you get that. But mostly it's work and time. The music business is who knows you do what you do. And you have to be extremely good at it. Cause there's always someone else coming up who's really done the work. And can do more then just make a good 1 or 2 beat/ productions out every 50 he makes. Do the work, study music. Learn to mix. Learn as much as you can about everything. That will help you the most be realistic with yourself too. You may never be a pro but music is fun to do. Keeps you off the streets. Lol
