Hey that's great ! I haven't sawed this year . The cable system is a bit rough on my system , I have to hold trigger at times to make it just right for the cutting speed . cable needs replacement. Post a video so we can see your operation ! good luck !
Hi Nice! I have homemade chainsawmill with a Jonsered 2171WH. The first month i had a cut of change 1,6 mm and it was pretty tuff when you sawing oak. Sens last week i have a new bar and a ripping change ;-) its 1,3mm its a dream to saw with! /Magnus Swed homesteading
I've seen so many videos where people have completely WRONG chains ,, how difficult can it be to find out what clever chain you should have !!! unbelievable!!! OBOY!!!!
I'm not sawing this month but I'll video the saw mounting process for you.It is a little difficult engaging the slots and tightening the two Nuts, takes a little fiddling around with the nuts placement on the stud and sliding the whole saw 1or 2" into place. I found you can adjust saw chain tension with saw mounted in carriage by loosening bar nuts with a long Allen driver on a ratchet and a thin open end wrench.
Hey Randolph thanks for subscribing to my channel . What kind of chain did you run ? I could only find wood lands pro chain at first that stretched it was laborious to run, it was really low quality then I ran some Pres stretched low profile stihl that was really expensive but cut real smooth but it was 45.00 a loop !!!!! This spring I will run some Oregon rip chain that I located but haven't tried yet. The saw is a beast ! Do you still have your mill ?
Ok after looking at sceammatics on the saw rig up I was able to easly fabricate the bolt mounts, just wish I could get the cable to work on my stheel chain saws, holding the saw trigger by.hand troughs the cut adjustments off a liitle if im not carefull, but it still does a nice job, ounce I got the adjustments tight it sped up the cut.
If you're looking for information on assembly of the Johnson read saw unit you can go to the website for lennartfors which is the manufacturer go to products then go to support and you can download an assembly guide for parts list that shows the configuration of the parts for the horizont mill in a Adobe download good luck

***** Good to hear that you took care of him and I'm sad for your loss. We tend to attach us so close to our pets, but in many cases we forget to protect them in these environments, I'm happy to hear that you did! All the best from Bangkok!

what size saw is this? I have a jonesred 16 in 45cc. curious if that would be sufficient for a chainsaw mill.
trethehunter no... chainaw need to be 80 cc and more... if not you will burn it in really fast...
A 72 CC chainsaw or larger is suggested for milling .This saw is 93 cubic inches about 7 horsepower.
