Love the car! You did well preserving it too! Most of the vehicles here in the Great White North have the fuel pump inside the tank which is a real pain to replace especially when the pumps fail way more often than they should. Can't wait to see the newly renovated shop!
Looks like I'm going to since I'm not selling it as it turns out. So yeah, I will vacuum, polish, nourish, wash and do other things to it to make it last. :D
Man, this is a fine piece! I wouldn't sell this, if I was you. I have 190E, automatic from 1985. With carburetor. Your's is a newer one I guess, from 90, or later? Especially, I can see "the new" steering wheel, not the original one, I mean the first one... Mine is not even close to this, but I bought it for 400 EURos hahah.
Change brake fluids, even change Power steering fluid and the filter in the bottom of the pump reservoir. May need to change brake hoses, they get smaller inside over time and you can loose effectiveness or even have a calliper mysteriously seize up.
Una belleza se ve, si te da problemas al encender después de que caliente, también es bueno cambiar el acumulador de presión de combustible..me paso con mi 230e
Good job for someone who "knows noting about cars." Good luck with your efforts. You have a crapload more viewers than I thought you had. Channel is growing!
I looked stuff up prior doing this repair. By knowing nothing I meant like knowing from experience without previous research. The user manual that comes with the car was useless on that matter. :D Chucked it into the glove box right away.
W126 W201 and W124............. All great cars. The W201 is one of the few cars that you can drive today and it doesn't look totally outdated that's in general maybe it's personal. try to picture an E30 next to it that says it all. It really did purr when it ran on all 4. Assuming it did just under 200.000 it will probably be loyal to you for another 100.000. Nice vid!
190, W124, W123, W126 should start with out many problems after sittin for years. I have w115 from 1972 with 240 3.0 disel motor, merc was sittin for 5 years outside on rain, snow, dirt, mud.. After 5 years I've decided to restore it. Just changed the battery and that Princes started at first. I have clip aswell. Feel free to contact me if you wanna see it. Peace
It has had the same gasoline, pump and filter in it from the year 2008. I think the old gasoline was the thing that killed both the pump and the filter. Otherwise the car works like a clockwork. ;)
I really want to get the one rotting in our garage to work. It has only 120000km, so it would be a shame if we had to scrap it. No rust 100% original parts, except for wear parts.
Every 2 years? Should be every 2 weeks you start it up and drive it around, even if it's driving straight and reverse several times. Fuel separates and leaves moisture in tank as well. Air conditioner and also heater should be run during these times as well for 5 minutes or so.
The old pump looked extremely similar to the MaxGear pump. Maybe it was also the same brand and that's why it deteriorated itself? Well, if anything, I'm sure as hell gonna find out how good of a product MaxGear really is. :D
Few years ago i bought a Mercedes-Benz W210 300TDT. When time has come for change filter, oils etc, I found that diesel fuel filter is corroded inside and bottom on the bottom part! Oh my ... Anyway - good luck and take care of Baby Benz :) P.S. I would always prefer diesel engines (my first car was '87 W124 250D Barolo Red), but with gasoline power unit it is tough car as well :)
I drove a '94 C280, back in 2013. Based on these older 190E cars. Mercedes, back in the day, was the bomb, man!
Love the car! You did well preserving it too! Most of the vehicles here in the Great White North have the fuel pump inside the tank which is a real pain to replace especially when the pumps fail way more often than they should. Can't wait to see the newly renovated shop!
Cheers. I can't wait to see the newly renovated shop either. :D Thanks for watching!
Its so clean and the body is so straight. Well done
You can do about anything you set your mind to Donn ! Really enjoy your videos! Be safe and God bless you!!
It's like the quote from "Back To The Future": "If you put your mind to it you can accomplish anything." I like it!
That's a beautiful 190E
I agree. Can't part ways with it.
I understand, and not only is the 190E such a nice looking car from all angles but your car's colour is very nice as well. I'd keep it too.
Woou! That nice classic in good condition 👌👍🙌💪
Hahaa! You have a limitless access to the emojis as it seems. :D
Special for this video comment.
Love your videos Donn and your sense of humour too.
Cheers. I'm glad you like'em. ;)
Congrats on getting it running!
Thanks a bunch, it's a relief!
2 years is nothing for that beauty :)
i got an an mercedes 190e too. Ive always wondered where the fuelpump and fuelfilter are located, but now i know. Thanks man
You're welcome! ;)
i love your vehicle old Mercedes is gold
This Mercedes is awesome, indeed.
I have the same car soon i will try and start it
What a beauty! Please take good care of her :)
Looks like I'm going to since I'm not selling it as it turns out. So yeah, I will vacuum, polish, nourish, wash and do other things to it to make it last. :D
This means some nice videos with cleaning the car. Can't wait. Also renewing the shop will be great to watch. Keep up the good work! :)
That model was the most beautiful from all of Mercedeses.
No way, gull wing all the way!
I'd go with the SL, but for every day car, this one looked and looks great too.
300 slr uhlenhaut coupe?, 540k special roadster?
The 300 SL from the fifties of course! Most beautiful car ever:

I prefer 300 sl roadster, because of the headligh design, but 300 slr uhlenhaut coupe is one step above 300 sl gullwing imo.
She is a beauty. With 18" BBS and Cossworth package it will be the greatest.
Nice car. U still using it?
love these kind of videos!
I love those shade tree mechanic jack stands.
Nice small 190
Yup.
Beautiful mercedes Donn ;)
Thanks man! The body of the car is impeccable, no rust whatsoever. It's a miracle in the conditions we have here in Estonia.
My W123 230E had the same problem. Have the spare parts but didnt know how to change. Thanks for the rough idea on how to do so.
Damm... I was going into bed to have some night sleep and then this video came! ;) I'm still awake!
I'm sorry. :D
Congrats great piece you've got :)
Had a high spec '91 2.0
Still regret selling it!!!

I just love that color. What type of color is it?
Man you are good nice car by the way
Thanks man. It is. And it's extremely soft and quiet. Driving it makes me feel like a gentlemen. :)

Bester Benz aller Zeiten
ich sag nur: /8
I just bought the same exact car it's been sitting for 4 years same exact problem
6:43 i tought he was going to crash into the house ...
Wow, I love that double tip exhaust! Where did you get it?!
It is only the rear muffler. It was on the car when I got it.
Is this the M111 engine?
I just put a new fuel pump in my 1.8 - it sounds really loud - is yours loud ? Top video !!
Nope. But I haven't driven it so much. There are still things to do on it before it is street worthy.
Is it for sale? ;)
Hey Donn i saw your licensce plate and look at that you are from Estonia... Is that right??
Kermo-Raiki Väli Yep. I live in the southern part of it. ;)
Oo cool i live also in the souther part near Kanepi
Donn DIY you know the RC car from AU video i own the same car and i race with it
It's a cool car. My friend left it to Australia though.
Let me add to my previous comment, the video of this poor Merc backing out of that garage shows a great example of explaining “Plate Techtonics”!!!
Nice
Fresh oil and coolant?
Yup.
The big E stands for EINSCHPRITSUNG which means fuel injection that fact is for all that wonderd what the big E stand for
its written Einspritzung
Einspritzung ;)
Thanks
Thanks for this.
Actually it stands for Ethanol. Thats why the Gas Version is called 190E and the Diesel is called 190D.
and i thught my garage floor was bad...
It's like that due to the manure channels. I can always pour a new floor over it. I was just bitchin' too much. :D

Hahaa! Good suggestion!
You live in Estonia? Are you familiar with elbe engineering? They are based in Estonia
Yes, I do live in Estonia but I'm hearing about elbe engineering for the first time. :/ I'm not a car guy though. :D
Est number plate? Is it from estonia?
Eesti number jah, In Estonia. :D
be good to change all the fluids and filters, brake fluid, oil, coolant, air filter etc.
amigo grigo loco mas videos con ese mercedes hacele un carro
my 190e is still sitting i think a year and a half
Get a new voltage regulator it'll make things much much better
About the cloth to the panel Board ethenylene I realized what the secret)
It purred like any good German automobile should.
Neic mercedes
Cheers!
Why not just bump starting? It's easier. And weld the diff, I want to see mad skids
It has automatic transmission, and it had a bad fuel pump. It's a street car, welded diff would be inconvenient. :P
Donn DIY Car guys daily car even with welded :P Also it will help on wet grass or mud

You should definitely do it. This 190E is one hell of a nice car!
What is aluminum?
"Aluminum - the chemical element of atomic number 13, a light silvery-gray metal."
You are wrong, it is "Aluminium". :)

6;35 496551 this is good!!!
200k km in 30years.. my fathers ML270 has 300k its 2005

MaxGear is a poor quality product, unfortunately.
Nice car though.
