Tom is a pretty cool CEO and he really knows his stuff. Great video Jay, I really like what they've done with this truck.
I love that truck. I wouldn’t change a thing. Perfectly done.
You're right about keeping certain (If not all ) factory styling components. Nothing ruins the experience more than those cheap ass steering wheels. That original steering wheel, dash & interior really enhances. Suspension, and stance are spot on as well. Love that color as well, although with the lighting ,and all it has the appearance of added clear coat w/ pearl. This gives me further motivation for my '63 C10.
Holley's CEO is pretty damn cool.
My first truck was a stock gold-colored 69, C10 step-side with a 250 ci straight 6 and three on the tree. I don't miss it too much.
A v 8 could solve that
+Jimbo Cee anyday
thanks!
+TAOFLEDERMAUS I used to work at a place that had a 73 3/4 ton that I drove a lot back in the late 80's. It had a 327 with a Holly 4 barrel. Lots of fun.
People didn't think to much of these trucks back in the day, they were just a work truck. Now look at them everybody wants them.
This might be my favorite vintage restomod you have shown. The exhaust note is sublime. Best combination of old and new school in a car I’ve ever seen.
My uncle who taught me carpentry had this exact same truck right down to the color, course it had a 250 six and three on the tree but one day I dropped a 283 in it and we were in heaven. Road and drove many a mile in that pick up, oh and it never had a radio either. Thanks for sharing Mr. Leno..
A DODGE DEALER I WORKED FOR USED TO BY AT THE STATE AUCTIONS HERE IN PA. HE BROUGHT BACK ONE OF THESE TO RESELL THAT I BOUGHT IN THE 70S A PA. FOREST RANGER TRUCK IT WAS A STEP SIDE WITH A THREE SPEED SIX ,THAT SAME BABY GREEN COLOR !....////
I like all Jay's videos before I even watch them because I know I won't be disappointed.
This may not be real TV but I look forward to every new installment like a little kid .Thanks, Harry Schwarte
I rather have this Tv,
Than the Propaganda
That We All are Subjected too ....
The perfect way to do a resto-mod. Love the engine bay and the look of a 4 bbl.
Thanks Tom and Jay. :)
I own a 1972 c10 myself i would love to restore it one day with my dad
I will now, and forever more, guage Jay's satisfaction/enthusiasm for a particular vehicle by the number of "Nicely dones!" per video.
I still like my Carb, for budget race guys like myself they still get the job done.
i know this is a late comment to this video, but i love how you did an episode on an old truck like this c10. More please!
I agree with jays opinion on the tilt gm steering wheel Lose some weight , lose some weight.
Yeah, it'd be nice if there was a tilt wheel with a thinner column. It's the thickness of the column that ruins the look.
Love Jay's videos. His enthusiasm for different types of cars/bikes is fun to watch.
That guy's face after Jay blasted the quarter panels with gravel.
😂😂 he was pissed.. I would be too...but at least Jay can pay for it.. His face would be a whole lot worse if it was his high school buddy tgat still lives in mom's basement lolol
Yeah,what a IDOIT!!
Honestly Jay beats up all the cars that come on the show its kindof rough to watch with all due respect lol
69 gmc 1500 I learned to drive when I was 10 it was 3 speed on the wheel. My dad would be having a beer and teaching me to drive. Those days are long gone. I’ll never forget him or the truck. Some day I hope to get one.
I like that truck, too! It's the right year, color , nicely done. I like the white grill, but I would have to have a chrome one as well, because I'm rich, with money pouring out of my pockets, sorry, I was dreaming
Great show Jay
Very cool truck. A friend of mine had a 69 Chevy longbox truck back in high school. It was dark blue and white with slotted mag wheels and exhaust stacks. We had lots of fun cruising in it.
Jay Leno is fucking great!
I love everything about this truck, it's absolutely beautiful. The only thing I would change is not lowering it so much or at all. The front end looks so good with the white.
I had a '68 Chevy C-10 pickup with that 0l' Stink'in 307 cu. in. V-8 engine in it. I Loved the truck but, hated the engine. Very P00r gas milage! This truck brought back a lot of memories. Please, Keep these GREAT SHOWS coming for All Of US Older People from back in them day's, Jay.
So cool seeing that sign on the door. I have two sets of official Holly part drawers with that logo, in mint shape from my grandfather's garage which he ran from the late 1920's to 1975. I use them in my office.
Leno, I'm too young to have experienced you on late night. But this show you've got is the best car show on TH-cam. 👍
Thanks for sharing your passion in such a pure form.
Everything Jay comments on about folks using smaller steerings wheels and dub wheels etc, I completely agree with. There is an esthetic that the vibtage vehicle loses when those particular modern parts are used. Well done again Jay & crew.
Hello: At 13:11 it looks like Tom is holding on for dear life, Jay has all the fun. That truck sounds just right.
I'm putting a Jaguar V-12 in my '69 Chevy truck.
Surely you can't be serious. A Mercedes V12 would have been cheaper to get and easier to maintain, but hey... to each his own.
You'd be better off and much more happy to put a 572 Chevy crate motor in it. A lot more muscle and keeping it all Chevy.
Skylar Garrett
I'm going to try to swap in as much of the Lucas electrical as I can too.
torchandhammer Fool, Genius, or Troll... any way you spin it, you are a hero. *golf clap*
Such an idiotic idea your gonna put 100k in a 5000.00 truck
That is a plain and simple clean mod. I really like that C10.
the vent windows that are now a thing of the past for some reason, worked as well as an AC..they really got to bring those back in trucks and vans...running that AC is a mpg killer!
fender guitars used the same color's of GM cars on their guitars during the 50's-60's using nitrocellulose formulas before acrylic was adopted by GM .. That color is referred to as surf green . Nitro is still used to this day on guitars and is preferred over acrylic for higher end guitars. Nitro finish wears out far faster and can be made in production to appear as an old guitar called a "relic" .
I thought it looked familiar! Used to know a guy who had a Telecaster that color.
I had a 57 Strat that was Sherwood green used on 57 Mercurys. (Left in profile photo)
Love this Truck. Finally Jay started to review trucks. Very clean build with ultra-neat in detail. Next truck should be 1st Generation Ford Lightning...Thank-You Jay for bringing in trucks to you show.....
So excited for the Holley LS Fest here in Bowling Green, KY next week, hopefully I get to see this truck in person.
Man O Man, would this be a nice toy to have.
The sound from that last burn-out is epic.
Man that’s gorgeous! And you’re right Jay. We need more trucks on the channel!
Love this show, so casual and professional
I would love to see roadkill on this show.
Nice! We had a new 1971 C10 when I was a boy back on the farm. We piled the abuse on that truck and it just kept coming back for more. Beautiful job on the restoration!
the best show ever can't wait to watch more
The valve cover/sock comment was good. I don't think the co-host got it.
the guest left his sense of humour in Kentucky .
Great truck. Don't know why but i gotta watch all the way to the just to hear that old car honk. Thanks jay for showing us your and others great rides
Also, nice touch leaving the old filler cap on the cab behind the driver's door.
Used to own67 Chevy 3/4 ton,had a camper on it before I bought it, used to burn out easy, but alas the bank took it back, ,great show Jay, glad your enjoying yourself !! The best to you ,wife, crew!
Summer of Love. Year I was born. 1967😊 love this truck😊
50s and 60s 'Murican cars were a golden era. Now the entire world drives the same drab rubbish, like Priuses, Toyota SUVs, Infinitis, Lexus etc etc. Zero style and flair, unimaginative design, endless pointless options and safety gubbins, and inoffensive colour schemes.
Bring back ginormous fins, chrome, sexy pastel colours off of the 50s, and gigantic V8s in cars that were styled to look like space ships.
Very little market for those cars that we want to see.
Majority of people only want a cheap car as an appliance and that's it.
NegativeNumbers427 For shame :(
In the 50s and 60s, especially in the States, people demanded a bit more class, style, pizzazz. America had an ego the size of the moon, and that was a good thing when it came to car design.
James C. Letts don't bad talk Toyota products. They make the best made vehicles that money can buy.
Krevin Grard
I can agree to that, but they also had their part in producing hybrid cars... A market that shouldn't really exist.
NegativeNumbers427 There is nothing wrong with hybrid cars. Hybrids that use the gas engine as a generator are the best hybrids.
Jay it is your Knowledge That needs sharp dressing and we trust the Mechanic look. Love this one
My father has this year and model, and it was used for racing. For a 52 year old truck it runs great, we had to convert the brakes though as they locked up.
I've seen this truck in person at Hot Rod Power Tour. It's really cool! Love the coil covers that simulate old big block valve covers.
I think jay has only got one pair of jeans and denim shirt he spends all is money on cars and parafinalia( don't know how to spell that word) that's why he has the same clothes on lol ;-}
nicely done, not too overstated in a nice pastel colour too very suttle.
Mechanical guys have no fashion sense to speak of..🤣🤣. They also do not notice fashion, except for machines..
The last Burnout was a good one!
When Jay had a job and some money in his pocket, he used to test McLaren's and Bugatti's. Since he's lost his job and is living on welfare, all he gets are motorbikes and crappy old rust buckets. It breaks my heart to see a guy like Jay hitting the skids. :-(((
These cars are more fun and more cool/interesting than any new supercars.
MarchuxProductions I can see your point of view, but, with these cars, I can't agree. Now, if we were talking 50/60's Jags or Porsches, that an entirely different matter. ;-)))
MrKeyboardCommando The simplicity ('Murican cars from that period were made with a hammer and an axe, lol) combined with their power and the looks/sound is just as amazing as any European sports cars of the time. Even with an old 454 or 427 big block of the time, a C10 back in the day could've taken on any 911, at least in the straight line, plus it sounds better.
This, plus I find 50s/60s Eoro cars pretty generic and ugly. Especially the rear end of the E-type. It looks like a fucking bath tub.
Have you ever watched another episode? Such as the one where he drove HIS P1? All those cars you see are his, aside from the C10. His 'job' wasn't his only, or greatest, source of income. Skids indeed.
Several people fell into your sar casm.
I love that sound of the truck
im getting tired of seeing ls engines in every damn restomod, do something different
Theres nothing else. U go with a fresh old school style small/big block chevy or u go ls. Ls engines are also very good.
im not saying they suck or anything. or that the truck sucks. i like the truck. but there are other options other than corvette engines. and im not sayin those engines are bad, i know there good
like I said, there really isn't nothing else. U go with a) old school and build something from the bare block up with maybe a Muncie or turbo 400 b) u go with ls and a tremec. Now I love old school but the newer stuff is easier to live with.
like i said there are other engines other than corvette engines. you could go with a 454 which is not a corvette engine, or a 427 though they did put them in corvette's it doesnt necesarily mean its a corvette engine. or a small block 350 camaro engine. i can go all day dude
jason wise And u didn't read what I wrote, the 454 350 etc are covered in old school blocks. When u look at chevy blocks there is no Camaro/vette engines since they shared the same blocks since the beginning with the differences being the heads and cam. The ls series of engines do the same thing to this day.
Beautifully done, This is what car guys like, sure the new stuff is nice, but something you've skinned your knuckles on is even better. Thank Holley for a very nice truck, and thanks Jay for putting it online.
loved it. I have a 1970 C10 shortbed that I've had for 35 years
Love the simple styling of these trucks.
Loved this one Jay..
I specialize in the 60-66 GMC/C10 trucks and I was impressed at how the 67 looked so period correct. ..
Really enjoy your Web casts. .
"okay I was wrong , see" hay always puts a smile on my face I love this channel
I am so glad you do this show! Thanks Jay!
YES!!! About time u guys featured a classic truck on this show especially c10s. I have a 1974 c10 2wd with an LS 5.3 and 4l60e auto and I absolutely love it. A million times better than the tired old 350 that was in there when I got it. I would like to get one of the 67-72 models one day
Who could give that clean old truck a "thumbs down"? I too would have liked to have heard more about the Holly add-ons.
The scion frs jay drove a while back also has self learning capabilities up to a certain point. When adding some basic bolt ons like intake or ehaust, i reset the battery and let the car reset itself. No cel, no troubles, just fun times
thank you Jay for making these videos!!!.
I love the C10 that style
loved my C10 , manual brakes manual steering.
What a beautiful sea foam green! Love this truck!!
Absolutely beautiful!
Totally agree on the a-pillar thing. Like the truck :)
look forward to this every Monday!!! thanks jay.
My parents when I was younger had a 67-72 Chevy longbox. Stick shift. And a 1972 Mavrick Grabber straight 6 a Cali car with lift shackles. Have pictures of me playing with it when I was like 1 yr-24months.
Love the videos Jay. Keep them coming. Thank you very much.
Yeah.. way to go Jay.. first class statement
An LS3 seems highly appropriate for this '67. Nicely done, Holley!
I love the tic-tac figi green color of the truck the white grill looks spot on I love that combo would to c the wheels painted white
I miss my 67 stepside.. thanx truck theives
This is one of the few restomods I like, it keeps a lot of the OG styling. Definitely not a Foosemobile. Major thumbs up!!
Love the look, that's my favorite color on an old pickup.
Nice to see the original steering wheel was kept as well...I'm not a fan of those swoopy wingy chromey things some people stick on them. What a great truck!
Sweet looking truck. My dad had one similar to this when I was a boy. Some restomods I like more than others. I like to keep a truck as utilitarian as possible, to be able to haul stuff whenever and wherever needed. I love the steering wheel. It looks like something you see on a 1967-68 Chevy or GMC C/K full-sized truck. I also love the Hurst shifter. I'm not against automatic transmission, but manual shifting is more fun to drive. Awesome work! :)
That last burnout tho 👌🏼😎🙌🏼
That was a proper burnout. Not the stupid brake burnouts everyone does on YT.
I like Jay he wears the same clothes in and out hes worth so much yet wears same things. I admire that and its true us car guys like our worked in jeans and shirts we only want our cars to look good
My dad had a 65 C-10 back in the early 70's when I was around 6 years old. it was red with a white top. I also remember he backed over my banana seat bike with it because I left it sitting in the driveway. Boy was he pissed! Just took of the chain guard, pounded it out again, put it back on and it was good as new. They don't make bikes like that anymore!
Beautiful "green-hospital" color.
Favourite car channel.
Diamond Supply Co. green. Love that color.
Thanks for showing us a truck, and a cool one at that.
thank's Jay I needed the smile this morning
if there any thing i would like in American vehicles its the SOUND. and the looks. and not to forget the POWER.
Simply beautiful
What a beautiful truck.
Nice "shop truck", but ripping into it while on half dirt/gravel and road.... I must say I flinched and shook my head.
Very beautiful, love it!
a really personal perspective review
I always like when the guy tells you EXACTLY what motor is in it and 10 minutes later you act you've got dementia! LMAO! Love ya Jay 🐦
That color and wheels 👌
Jay could fart in a bottle and throw it at my face and he would still make me smile. Such a genuine guy.
Very nice... lets see more shows with trucks Jay.
so cal speed shop build. used to run into this truck all the time out in Montclair ca.
I had a similar truck, same color but it was a 68 and long-bed 3/4 ton. Great truck!
I miss my '65 Chevy long-bed with just a 292 straight-6 and a powerglide.
