I agree! Bolin, Jimi, Paul Kossoff and SRV all left us too soon. Zappa and Gary Moore both fell short of 60 but still too early. I wasn’t a big fan of Randy Rhoads but his talent was undeniable and his untimely death was tragic

I love The James Gang after Joe left, they made some great music ,love every lp. The lp,s after Joe are awesome and I strongly incourage any one checking this out to check out all the music James Gang made after Walsh because it is some fantastic music. Do not get me wrong, the music with Joe was off the charts. I love Joe but I also love the Gang after. When Joe was starting out my brother helped him with his equipment on stage back in the Kent univirsity days. When he carried his stuff in a van.

Hello. I seen these guys in the fall of 73` at Allee Gymnasium in Sioux City,Ia. I was ten years old in the 5th grade at Joy School. My older half-brother asked me if I wanted to see a Rock Band. I said yes and asked what they were called? He said they are called James Gang. I knew the name from listening to his albums. I did not know who he was at that time, but I stood about 5 feet from Tommy Bolin the whole concert!!! It was AWESOME!!! I recognized several of the songs they played and remember Tommy playing a Gibson Explorer 2. I later seen him solo at the S.C. Auditorium when I was in 8th grade. Rock On! From Sioux City,Ia.

James Gang , didn't want piano on their music , so Joe Walsh left and recorded Rocky Mountain Way, then they had Tommy Bolin and did not let him sing , yeah , I have made mistakes too , nobody's perfect.

Bolin's best work was the lead parts he did on the first Moxy album. The six post-Joe Walsh James Gang albums sold worse with each succeeding album. The last two albums do have 2 to 3 decent tunes on each. Only Jim and Dale from this band are on them.

As much as I cherish the brilliance of the late Tommy Bolin, James Gang without Joe Walsh misses the mark.
I saw the Walsh line up in 1971.... three years later I saw the line up in this video at the old Cleveland Municipal Stadium... most of the crowd seemed to brush them off.
