this one is way more up my alley then genshin, luved it but got bored quick. This being focused on ur own created character, more focus on mmo/coop aspects make me gel with it more then genshin's style.

@@Iamconnorlee i tried to really like it, but the very bad coop stuff, the one arena dungeons, and combat designed around just popping ults and swapping to the next character really pushed me away. got way too boring.
Well sadly, due to the genre, you'll hit that wall of "what now" eventually here as well. You can't approach these games like they are forever games, because they aren't.

I really hope they give emphasis to the story. Maybe not at the beginning, but a good story later, with good characters, would give it a huge boost as a game. Especially because when it comes to anime, there isn't much competition when it comes to good plots (even more so if they are videogames-related).

This looks interesting, but I'll hold my excitement for the full release. I quit Genshin on multiple occasions because I ran out of stuff to do outside of logging in, spending my resin, then logging off because there was nothing else worth doing. We'll see if the same thing happens here.
There are quite more modes here though cause is more focused on co op. You have PvP, battle royale mode, eternal spiral abyss with leader board and guilds. Doesn't mean you won't get bored but they have an big emphasis on end game and seems like they are trying hard to solidify that aspect in the recent builds of the game
It's always so weird when people complain about there being nothing to do anymore. Like yeah dude, once you played hundreds of hours of course there is not much to do anymore. What do you expect? The developers to work every day non stop and put out new content every day? And of course the same will happen here as well. It's unavoidable :D

I really hope they fully commit to the movement. Genshin has a problem that all the new content kinda feels the same to do, but if this movement is as satisfying as it looks then that kinda gameplay can get very creative and stay engaging. We will indeed see, though!
It's literally a genshin rip-off on a laggy engine. It's shit.
For mobile i feel like this game is really great, its really pushing the boundaries between pc and mobile just like Genshin. On the other hand though i personally feel like the game itself feels a little wonky at times. Sometimes enemies get stuck in awkward places or cutscenes/voice acting cuts off at weird moments. Besides that i feel like you get thrown right into the story making it hard to follow at the start. On the positive side though the game does run pretty well and the weapon swapping is a nice touch. The combat feels fun and the difficulty seems fine.
They improved alot since the CBT. Good. I can see that i'll be playing this game soon.

I was part of a beta test for it.
It's a really lite mmo rpg but fun. Getting to "end game" doesn't take too much grind. So you can experience all types of content it offers off the get go, and then you're free the explore the parts of the game that appeal to you. Some content is time gated and does have gacha mechanics so it's not really balanced but eh, gacha games ;-;.
Gacha isn't that important for weapons because you will probably get all of them. Getting multiple copies of them to level up though will probably require money. The real gacha is in the augments you can install onto weapons. They make or break weapons, but also make it so even your starting weapons can do amazing things. It really rewards building your weapons how you want to play, so like a regular rpg.
On top of that the movement is fun although limiting at times, just feels stiff depending on what you do.
My favourite thing are the bosses. Either open world bosses or bosses exclusive to some dungeons. Using all your movement options, weapons, and relying on your party makes them so fun. They aren't just sit on a spot, dps, avoid the red, repeat.
It's basically an mmo rpg for people who don't have time for mmo rpgs, 7/10
There are some people out there that believes this is not an MMO 🤦. And yea the game is great, the combat is fluid and the PvP is balanced, everyone has the same weapon level

@@incog0956 yea if they are comparing with Everquest or Ultima online, those were real MMOs then yea sure ToF is way too far from that, but that's what mmos are becoming now actually, multiple channels/line/instance to split the players and keep performance. And yea the game is really casual friendly, you lvl up quite easily and you dont have to be killing the same mobs over and over to get exp 😂. Also the golden orbs were quite common for a good amount of hours, so we can get some SSR units with not a much problem

Bruh I don't mind you selling out, but selling out the pros and cons at the end is too much, that shit was your brand, the thing that made it real. You could have done it like last game where you didn't do pros and cons, but don't try to convince us you are doing a "real first impression" if you are not doing one.
Again I'm okay with the scripted content, scripted jokes, and showing actual gacha content in which you don't get an SSR (I was sure you were gonna get at least 2 or 3 as these companies tend to fix the chance to make it seem like you have more than 1-3% chance), but wth is that "not for the gacha haters" piece of shit? we all know gacha content is just a money vortex technique made to suck addicts' money away, and making it sound like gacha hating is an opinion is not correct.
I'm not even hating the game, and I'll probably give it a try if I'm bored and have no other games, as its probably genshin impact with more steps, is easy to start, easy to follow, and easy till a specific point where it gets stupid hard requiring specific SSR's of different elements to make you spend $$$ (or grind 8 hrs a day), but fun till you get to that point. What I dislike is you faking it.
Yeah, I agree... I was really confused by how he refused to comment any actual flaw of the game ( I played the same beta version as him, and there were some missing voice lines that he could've at least mentioned)
And while I was playing I actually managed to get lots of SSRs (not sure if the odds were rigged for it being CBT) and I'm surprised he didn't get any.
The game's gameplay isn't bad, but isn't nearly as awesome as he's making it out to be (I know that's subjective but Genshin feels more polished)
What's going to make it or break it is how diverse and enjoyable the actual endgame is (couldn't advance that further in the CBT period) and how they deal with the release of new content.
Now the only actual critique I have regarding your comment, what do you mean by grinding 8 hours a day? Since you mentioned Genshin as comparison I was wondering if you were referring to it. Funny thing is it's literally impossible to grind Genshin for that much due to it's resin limitation, which yes, you can spend money to grind more but is something which only the biggest whales used to do in the beginning of the game that is now a complete waste of money. Current Genshin grind is logging in the game and spending 15 minutes between doing dailies and spending resin.

I know about genshin limitation and its has its pros and cons, getting resin time-gated was kind of crappy but it prevented getting burned out from grinding (didn't work for me tho I stopped playing)

I see air combos and I see lock-on, so I am already sold. Its what Genshin lacked and why the combat in that sucked for me.
Of course, I also like the waifus and futuristic world. Heres hoping they really dont fuck this up cuz I wanna play it for a long time.
Lock-on already makes it better than genshin for me. Feels like shit playing supposedly ranged bow normal attacks when you're effectively melee most of the time because targeting system is garbage.
I've been playing Genshin 1,5 year now, and it honestly blows my mind why the hell a simple function like lock-on isnt even in the game. Targetting with a catalyst character is just infuriating at this point. Even more important things, like for example Venti's burst, cant be targetted.
Quality of life improvements is something Hoyoverse has never heard of, or they are swimming in their money that they simply dont care.
Lock on and the Time Fracture for dodging. Say what you want, being able to slow down time looks cool and makes you feel badass.
Genshin characters only have one combo and spamming the same button over and over gets boring and seeing the same attacks and animations gets old fast
Lock on is especially important in bursts because everytime I burst, it only targets that one enemy in the corner instead of the crowd because it's the closest.

If this game breaks my expectations and better than Genshin, then why not giving it a chance. Love the fast pace attacks. my only hope for this game to achieve is the story telling. I will just try the game to find out.
genshin still has the better story telling line, plus this one will be a play all in 1 server, and it will be crowded with players, crowded with player gameplay kills the storytelling part!

Genshin Impact on Steroids*, I feel like I would like this more. Not a fan of having to have 4 characters to switch between to trigger effects etc. with the environment.

The game looks really good. Seems very fluid, with beautiful graphics and world. I am a little bit always worried about gacha games though. I wish to have a really good-looking anime game with some decent monetization. Looks interesting, regardless.
I sure hope the vertical sensitivity isn't locked to a ratio of 20% of the horizontal sensitivity.
Its the typical fare. Its entirley unfair at a certain point and will require you either play 24 hours a day or pay up. Its always the case, lets not be coy

Everytime i see a comment about blue protocol, a part of me dies inside, knowing how far off it is still from being finished.
i've just started playing this game today and i have to say i'm really surprised. It looks really good, runs perfectly, gameplay is fun, story is pretty well done. The only bad is that cutscenes are not perfectly sync with the voices but it's nothing really.
Gives me big Mihoyo vibes (kind of gameplay-wise a cross between the world of Genshin Impact and the combat of Honkai Impact), with a little bit of Borderlands aesthetic with the damage splats and some of the townscapes.
Definitely looks worth checking out, thanks for the showcase!
It's genshin, same menu style, same font, same icons, same mechanics, same combat etc. It's ripoff but high quality one. Will be popular untill next mihoyo release so they need to release it fast...

Looks a bit like genshin, which is a good thing from the gameplay-wise mechanics + now it's mmorpg which makes it even better! More of good things combined will create something great. All in all, really excited to jump into this since I don't much to do in genshin nowadays~

Finally a high quality quality anime-style RPG, looks super good and fun, i think i'll give it a shot when its coming out! Only thing stinging about this is the "mobile" crossplay.

i play genshin since day one and i can tell u tower of fantasy looks so much better . genshin has a big problem with end game where its basically event after event with no real motivation for you . Until they fixed that i cant really recommend this to any one
@samu just from peons video you can see combat is way more fast paced and engaging instead of revolving around poppin ults and switching characters, Multiplayer/MMO aspects are way better here then genshins joke of coop, your created character is the focus ( and you have the option to choose the appearance of the gatcha weapon/character u got if u want) lots of stuff here already for people to like better then genshin for coop/mmo fans.

I'm going to pick this game up once it's released, but what I won't do is 'drop' Genshin. I know Genshin gets stale especially once you finish new released content, but I do love Genshin just enough to not drop it completely.

@@mysticalbeing8943 No, it is not the same as an MMO. After playing real MMOs and MMORPGs since 1997, i can safely say that this is simply not an MMO/MMORPG. It is, as stated even by the developer, a shared open world RPG.
You play solo for the majority of time and if you do run into other players, the most you can run into at any given time is whatever the cap is on the server you're connected to, and in shared open world games, those caps are pretty low. Destiny 1/2 are perfect examples of a shared open world game.
They're not MMOs or MMORPGs simply because a lot of people play the game at the same time, no no no..
What makes an MMO/MMORPG an MMO/MMORPG is the ability to play on the same server, and interact with thousands of players at any given time without a 'lobby' that connects you.
Having a chat doesn't make any game an MMO/MMORPG. Having a tiny social hub doesn't make any game an MMO/MMORPG. Social hub games are more like MMO super-lite, simply because of how tiny the social hubs are and how very few players are actually able to be there at any given time. Lobby based online games can't, and should never be classed as MMOs/MMORPGs. Diablo 3 has a social chat feature but it is not an MMO/MMORPG. Those lobby based games are just online multiplayer games. Nothing 'massively' about them whatsoever in terms of players in the same open world etc.
If this doesn't sink in then i'll leave you to your ignorance.

I feel like nobody mentioned this, but there is this upcoming game by Ex developer that left Mihoyo cause of stuff(rumourly), start their own company named kurogames, they do an amazing job at making actual great action rpg nier automata X devil may cry type game called Punishing gray raven, it has a great depth in combat, and i feel like its very underrated i hope some of you guys that read this comment will try that game, and it has an amazing music called Narwhal if you dont believe how great they are,and wuthering waves its their newest game that seem to be open world but with much more depth combat mechanic.

@@pp0120 the new project they worked on called "Wuthering waves" BUT, before you check that you need to definitely need to know their previous work so you can have your trust on their heart, There is one boss battle Lucia alpha vs rosseta from "punishing gray raven" you need to see that fight because that is just one of the many boss battle in this game created by kurogames you not gonna regret it ;) the optimization they made for this game is absolutely godlike, also goodluck if you want to try the games Have funn too if you have any questions i welcome;3

also for those saying this is just like genshin impact, first and foremost genshin is single player with some co op mechanics where as tower of fantasy is an MMORPG where you can meet other players and make friends and do raids and quests and bosses omg hyped for this!

"Combat is good for a mobile game" makes me worried as an old-school PC gamer who's disappointed by most game mechanics and balance nowadays. The combat may feel good in terms of abusing dopamine response, but is there any mechanical depth or is it just spamming bells and whistles? I feel like games have really low skill ceiling once you reach, the game becomes dumb grindfest.
Definitely like the look of this over Genshin Impact. This might be really good.

Little confused about the simulacrum system. Are they attached to weapons or something? Why make your own character if they just get you to use heros (simulacrum)? Basically the gacha system works as in when you pull the weapon, you get the character attached to it too. The character is an extra skin/costume you can put on whenever you want, but you don't have to. You can just use the weapon with your created character.

Pretty hard to know you want to know about the lore behind it if that’s all you have to say. To answer your question though, there’s a TH-cam search function at the top of the site. There’s also google. You’ll get more information that way much faster. Better than waiting ten days for someone to respond to your non question with lore.

I can no longer take lazypeon's word for any game. There is zero chance he wasn't sponsored as this game is the most garbage "mmorpg" I've ever played and in my desperation of finding a decent mmorpg, I've burned through a lot. You gave this game no cons, other than "not for haters".
-Best cross-platform combat ... ? The combat is garbage. Spam all buttons at the same time = combat
-Top Tier Movement (this is when I knew you were insane) They had to add jet packs cause the climbing was so garbage.
-Character Custimization : You have to pre-select gender before starting into the server and the 2 times I did this it still spawned me as a chick and then run through 20m of quick time bs and listen to blonde chick talk your ear off.
-Fully voice acted cutscenes : This is the whole game. You don't play or experience the world, you listen to chicks talk for hours.
It's trash. Nothing else to be said.

Something you didn't notice is that you can have it where your custom character can be wielding those gacha weapons.
As these games seem to be quite popular, there will eventually be a studio that tries to fill the niche of a game like this without gocha mechanics. Sure it won't make as much money, but it will pick up players like me that will never touch a gocha game
Sadly theres no money in that because no offense, people like you don't even want to pay a subscription fee nowadays. Hence why it's so difficult to create a payment model nowadays that isnt predatory.

WoW and FFXIV are soaking the subscription boomers like me and you, but it's too risky otherwise to make a subscription gatcha game, when inherently the pay model thrives on the few that will pay a lot to enjoy that gambling gameplay.

Genshin never had appeal to me as I don't care at all about having hundreds of different characters, I like identifying with the one char that I create in an online game... This sounds refreshing as the gacha system is mainly around weapons and chars are optional/treated as skins! Plus the game looks fun so I will definitely try it.

This is exactly what Mihoyo needs to put pressure on them to correct their predatory tactics and lazy efforts. They've had no competition so they have had no reason to listen to their fans/playerbase, assuming this game is not going to be as vicious as Genshin is with it's gatcha system, character progression, relic grinding, and all-around content/time gating of every system in their game.

Looks good. However mmo and gacha don't work so well. Gacha means more power for paying players. Genshin evades this by not having competitive pvpve content. Hope devs can make it work somehow because game looks cool.
Well, there is competitive pve and pvp content. But currently only on pvp - arena with equalized levels and stats. And i guess pve p2w is not a bad thing, since even if you dont spend, there is a lot of co-op pve content where you will be carried by whales, if some willing to spend for solely pve purposes. That's my thoughts

ToF- Customizable character. You want to look like Hu Tao? No problem.
Weapons
Genshin- Sword only.
ToF- Any 3 weapons of guns, bows, swords, greatswords, spear
Gacha
Genshin- Waifu/Husbado and Weapon sold seperately
ToF- 2 in 1, gets weapon and waifu/husbando.
Boss
Genshin- 1 healthbar
ToF- 3x healthbar
Exploration device
Genshin- Gliders to fly from top places, boats to get around the sea
ToF- Jetpack to fly, surfboards, also vehicles
Combat
Genshin- Melee or ranged, uses skill based on which characters used, has ultimate as burst. Dash to dodge,
ToF- Melee or ranged based on which weapon, mid air attack, ZA WARUDO to dodge.
I like the customization and focus on co-op play. But imo the mecha aesthetic is not for me, wasn’t super into Honkai impact like games either…

Im a genshin player since day 1, its nice to see how all these post-genshin games are getting better and better, I'll play them too of course, but as of now, the storyline in genshin (along w the dark lore & mysteries) is unbeatable , i hope ToF storylines amazed me that much.
