both reverse and forward facing pleat look good on lean - average sized guys, but speaking as a guy who have a slightly larger thigh, the forward facing pleat is actually the one that will slim you up since the hollow part of the pleat facing towards the fly, and draw the eye inward instead of outward..
You make a great point about tailoring pleated trousers. Because pleated trousers are often high rise, they often need to be sized up and wider in the hips so that the pleats remain closed when you are standing, and when they do need to be tailored, they shouldn't be taken in to much because the pleats will flare. (What's the point of having pleats if you eternally flare?). In the beginning of my "style journey," I incorrectly sized and tailored my trousers such that the pleats almost always remained open. Massive mistake. Wish I had this video then. Gentleman, take his advice. Great video.
This the great videos that I've ever seen before It talk about pleats . Most of people doesn't know about that. One single pleats look like amazing and reverse pleats is great and nice than forward pleats, and box Pleat . In my own opinion I much prefer in a reverse pleats better than one single pleats and forward pleats. My father is Pastor he loves wearing pants with reverse pleats. Each different type of pleats a with different type of look its depends on you on how you wear it with fashion.
Another great video buddy. I am a fan of the double forward facing pleat. Now the reason it works for me is because I’ve got a larger hip and seat and a fuller pleat balances my proportions better. Especially if you get a high-rise. They drape very well. I think pleated trousers, to your point, look good with a gentle taper, but you can get a full coat that drapes cleanly that doesn’t look baggy if it’s tailored properly. But too big look sloppy so I totally agree! Great video as always.
I have seen pleated pants being worn by some middle aged to older men, And basically seen some in the school's uniforms and the watchmen uniforms, all of them which I have seen are reversed, I might have seen at least one forward pleated pants. I really like them, I need to really get a bit thinner and then tailor a couple of them for me.
My grandad wore pleated trousers and so did his father. I would far rather be associated with their era and their style than the overly tight modern clothing
Everyone is, like, entitled to their opinion... but well-built dudes look better moving in forward pleats, even double forward pleats if necessary. Opinions are window dressing for facts. forward pleats looking good on built dudes moving is facts.

The reverse pleated pants is the best style over all. Great video Robert
.
I agree!
Double reverse pleats and two (2") cuffs is the absolute classic in menswear!
Agreed

Great comet man! Pleated trousers tailored toon tight is usually something we all experience first when starting off.
I prefer double forward with 2 inch cuffs.

Pastor Robert, I like the variation of colors used in this video. The olive green is on point. The reverse pleat is what i opt for.

What?
Chunky or heavy guys (like the man in the video) may want to avoid pleats. The look better on a lean and tall body. Anyone else looks sloppy
Totally wrong

Oh yeah... and pleats make pants comfortable the way they are meant to be.
