Hi, I have 2 of these mice & the keyboards, etc. I would like to do this upgrade. I'm a ham radio operator so am capable. My mice are different they have a red connect button underneath. My wheels & left-click button were faulty & I saw a replacement mouse on eBay but when it arrived there was no connect button. So I took the 2 wheels off & the left click button & installed them into my connect button version as I could not use the new non connect button mouse with Linux. Thanks for the info I will do this upgrade myself & was wondering about the middle wire (yellow) a 10 K resistor to ground to fool the circuit, Thanks for the info.
At 3:17 he is testing the negative and sensor connector from the battery to check the resistance, later he explains it is needed for the charger to work, otherwise it would deplete the battery and won't charge again. All lithium ion battery have the same voltage ranges, the difference is in physical sizes and capacity. So any other lithium battery would work too, the problem is to find one which fits inside the mouse.
HELP!! PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GET THE DRIVERS! I bought this around 2004. It got rid of all my RSI pains because there were 8 buttons to choose for the functions I used most. Then it was discontinued. I managed to buy TEN of the MX 1000 MICE online only to be told there are no drivers!! I was about to chuck them! HOW DO YOU GUYS USE IT?
This mouse using Bluetooth to connect to your computer it's not using Logitech driver u can buy any USB Bluetooth even cheap one and the mouse will work perfectly.
Nice mod, I would like to have see what the Logitech software said for battery life left once you put that big boy in!
Also, it would be interesting to see how you opened those laptop batteries. These casings are hard to get into!

And more info on the machine you use to check the batteries and charge them.
Interesting, but too bad you're not explaining why you go for a 10K resistor, and how you know that you have found a correct battery...
