- Haofa, an indigenous breed of dogs from the land of Tangkhuls known for its hunting skills and faithfulness, is on the verge of extinction and there is an urgent need to preserve the breed.
The numbers of the breed are decreasing day by day, and it is getting harder to find pure breeds these days. Some individuals and communities have started breeding Haofa to revive their dwindling numbers; and Haofa breeders take strong pride in maintaining their genetic pool. For them the name ‘Haofa’ is almost synonymous with their roots.

Some of them almost have a bear like appearance to them, and that alone is incredibly unique to this breed. I hope we can continue breeding them and for them to gain recognition from FCI, AKC, etc.
We should support and try our Best to preserve The Haofa breed from getting extinct. like for the video 👍 #dog lover
Please develope this breed, increase their numbers then if there is risk of them being killed please allow the breed to be exported out of Manipur so that rest of us Indians can also rear this beautiful breed and develop it in other states too .

arre i realllllly love this dog... i am searching for this breed but I don't know how to bring it to andhra... if this breed would have been available in Kolkata, I could have bought it... but manipur jake leke aana, it will a pain for that puppy... if someone knows if it is available in Kolkata, please let me know... is breed ko pichle 5 saalon se dhund raha hun yaha, but kisine naam tak nahi suna... its heartbreaking to see that we don't value and recognize our own native breed dog... this dog was tammed by manipur tribals which means it will be a hell of a guard dog I can guarantee that...

Actually the law banning tail docking & ear cropping exists in India but still people are doing it; whether Haifa or Doberman. Quite sad

I contacted some of the persons found in Facebook to buy a Haofa, but they say the Haofa cannot be given outside Manipur. I am from Kerala
Contact other people it's a pretty cool dog. Does well with children really energetic and ours was a hunter dog. Lost him last year was about to turn 12 this year. Extremely loyal and playful. But be careful not to take it near other animals

I dn't know its origin but Many villages in nagaland also have this dog since 300-400 ago. They sell them for just 1-2k these days
