Mercy! I stumbled on this little video and what a treat! I worked on a geophysical survey boat in 1971 off the NW coast of Ireland. On many occasions we sheltered in Killybegs or Sligo when the weather was too rough to work. Always had a great time as the locals treated us with great hospitality. If my memory serves me right the pubs rotated their opening/closing hours so as to comply with licensing laws but also ensure a pub would be open whenever any of the fishing boats came in!!
