Hey, thanks for the very thorough comparison, great job!! My only caveat about the Bose, actually two, are these. First, Bose uses the older, Bluetooth 4.2, basically meaning less distance between the source and speaker. Secondly, the Bose app doesn't have an equalizer, to play around with the speaker settings. At least with the Sony XE 200, you have an app that allows you to adjust the sound more to one's liking. Two things to think about...

I'm also looking at Sony because my Bose speaker has the most unnervingly loud sounds. A super loud beep when it turns on, pairs etc. It also turns on whenever your bluetooth is turned on with any device. It's so annoying. So much that I have to look elsewhere.
I disagree on the loudness, the xb33 is actually pretty good for playing loud. It doesnt seem super loud at first glance, but it plays pretty clean and nice even at max volume, while most other speakers get distored and/or shrill sounding.
With the xb33 you can even push it a little more in the EQ and it still sounds good.
So if you like to play loud, e.g for outdoor meetings, the xb33 is better than both bose flex and sony xe200
I like they included a mute call button they should also make it easier to hang up a call and hang up and the eq. In my opinion.
Speaker is insanely good and only $100. Your going to want to adjust the settings with the software. It even supports LDAC😮
the best sony bt speakers imo were the original srs x series releasedakout 10 years ago.. that were rectangular with piano black panels.. it was simple and had amazing audio hi-res speakers.. all the bass crap killed the series as shown with each new model

New XE Series is a huge downgrade and has no bass and muffled highs.
Sony XB line worlds ahead.
And Bose SoundLink Flex walks all over the XE lineup.
Wow just bought one of these, can't believe how lacking bass and the sound is muddy, really one of the crappiest things I've purchased fro a long time.

Good review. You would think Sony would improve the sound quality of their product, but the only improvement seems to be the loudness. I’ll take the Bose, per your recommendation. I’m on an iPhone, so I’ll have to take your word on the sound quality.
The sound quality of the Bose Soundlink Flex is unmatched in its category right now.
You cant go wrong with the Flex. I have it and blindly recommend it to anyone, coming from Marshal emberton which in the price categeory is also great!

Bose are so average
Have to go with that Bose. It clearly had better crispy highs that made the bass deep and tighter. Do they come with equalizer control
I have the 200....its not the best when ut comes to the bass but for some reason i still like it....i think its because of the clarity...sometimes too much bass can knock out other sounds....i think sony focuses more on clarity...jbl more on bass and anker tries to do both....if you like bass i wont suggest this speaker....but the sound is very clear and relaxing
Yeah my brother has a nice job and he said my Sony sounds much more clear and crisp
too many people equate bass with sound quality unfortunately.. but sony is partly to blame for pandering to the bass heads..
Sony 200 base is to much
I have to disagree on this. First of all, if you don’t like bass, you can always turn on stamina mode on any other older XB models of SONY speakers. Secondly, the size of the XE200 is too big for such sound performance. The bass of this thing can only go as low as 160Hz. It’s all “fake” bass under 160Hz and that is the worst bass response in any speakers of this size. What made people think that the bass of XE200 is good is because of the 160Hz punch, it might sound good at first, but the more detail you try to capture in the music/song the more you find out how bad the sound of this speaker is. They made the EQ very extreme to the 200Hz frequency and it made the sound muffle as heck. The “line shaped diffuser” is the worst thing you want on a portable Bluetooth speaker. Firstly it increased the size of the speaker by a lot without improving the sound at all. Secondly it created a room for the sound that came out from the drivers to keep reflecting and bouncing around, which made a ridiculously high amount of harmonic distortion.
Obviously Xe200 is not Extra Bass series. Also it has different name than Xb33.

You have to go to the XE 300 much better and the XG 300 great the BOSE IS INCREDIBLE AND THE XB33 is great especially paired to another one and love the lights too great video your due for a new Bluetooth video Soundcore has some great speakers coming out.
So what speaker would you pick out of these three? The Bose?
What’s the ‘VPT surround sound’ in the app settings? Is it something to only use when listening to movies/music that is made for surround sound?
Which one has the best microphone?
Very lackluster performing speaker but if Sony fine tuned Party Connect the speaker would have it's place.

The speaker xe200/300 sound like a blanket is thrown over them the XG300 is nice the XB 33 paired up in stereo is awesome and the Bose flex is stereo 40 watts of power super nice the new Sonys are disappointing

hello! I have xb33 from 3 yrs and i use on the ship and now in Switzerland..still of full power bass i catch 6-7 h ! Briliant speaker..i dont like the shape of xe200..

I've got a broken xb33.. The radiator on one of the sides makes a plastic clap like noise.. Now unusable. Haven't found receipt yet... Thinking the xe the way to go after this review.
You buy anything yet if not the xg300 is 199 and it's awesome I also have a XB33 it's definitely a solid speaker but doesn't compare to the XG
@@KParks ..I ended up getting an xb 13 .. It's ideal to hang off my harness at work.. Doesn't get very loud tho..I pulled apart my xb33 and stuffed foam around both sides of broken radiator.. It works ok now.. But not very portable.. And I got some tower speakers for home last week
I actually miss not having the AUX flexibility but Me personally, I can live w/o. It's my friends that keep asking.
What's the best mix of XB32 performance and AUX jack on the used market or new.
Do any of these portable offer a standalone stereo?

I have all but the Sonos. All 3 are great but I’m always reaching for he Bose. The Soundlink flex is the best sounding speaker in its class in my opinion
I bought a UA boom 3 from my verizon account and I think it sucks ass and distorts bass at max volume.. theyre letting me exchange and i can pick this speaker, the XB23, or I can get a JBL flip 5 eco or flip 6, or whatever else is $99... Im not sure which one to choose.. Any of these hand the bass reallly well? If my music sounds like crap. Im currently considering one of the 2 sony's but can't test the waters on them. Any tips or opinions because Idk what im even looking for in these anymore

I had the XE300 and 200 and returned both after about 5 minutes of listening. Horrible muffled sound with no bass or anything.

I bought one for $30 basically new. It sounds terrible. I have every speaker know to man and this is one of the worst. The JBL Flip 6 is light years ahead
The sony xb13 I bought 3 days ago for like 35 Euros... Wasted money thats all I can say !
