@tranullius6087Pure alcohol can kill you. Drinking 21 shots of alcohol in one sitting can be life-threatening for anyone. Drinking too much too quickly can affect breathing, heart rate, body temperature and in some cases, this can lead to a coma and death.
Yes absolutely Take more power and freedom away from we the people. Don't let us decide for ourselves. In industrialised government training centres aka schools continue to fail to empower the people with critical thinking and information about the difference between law and legislation, for example. How can the people choose for themselves whether alcohol is right for them when we have been so dumbed down by the system. What would we do without you wise ones attempting to decide for us?
@@rachelb8863 Thank you for saying this. Authoritarianism is not the answer to anything, and yet more and more we are being conditioned to believe that it is.
I started Dry January 01/01/2020 with initial intention of just that month. But about halfway in, I decided to quit for good. One of my best choices and recommend it to anyone, everyone. Congratulations on your commitment to change 🎉
Stopped drinking back in February as it’d got out of control. Lost weight, look/feel better and the anxiety has decreased. Had a good 30 year session so no rush to get back into it!
congrats on giving it up , i feel this video was based though , there is literally millions of people who have a few drinks on the weekdn and are fine , acting like its straight uranium is silly too , everything in moderation
I thought at first you were saying you’re 17. Sadly even staying sober as a teen is unusual it seems. I waited until 21 and learned in college that most everyone drank in high school even the scholars. I basically lived under a rock through high school and had no social life so I was never subjected to that stuff. Tried it at 21 and all my friends were so shocked to hear it was my first time. They were giving me drinks all night and I hated them all (the drinks) lol. Drank a few more times before graduating and never liked it. It tastes like I imagine car gasoline tastes lol. Lost a brother to drunk driving recently and thankfully he only really hurt himself with his mistakes. Have another brother and brother in law I really wish would quit and I guess I’m lucky I never struggled with an addiction. Seems bizarre to me that drinking isn’t looked at in the same negative way as overeating or smoking.
I quit drinking 3 weeks ago and it was easier then I thought it would be. Quit smoking cigarettes 2 years ago and quit vaping 6 months back. Most importantly I quit sugar and went keto last year and now ketovore lifestyle is how I live. I picked up dumbbells a few months back. I'm down 52 pounds and got 6 more to go before I can say my weight loss journey is over, now comes maintaining. I did this on my own, I'm determined. Thanks for reading!
That is great, I first quit drinking and any substance abuse 5 years ago, year later I quit smoking and just this past year cut out drinking pop all together to lower sugar intake. Seems like you are on a good path, stay the course and hope you are rewarded for your efforts.
I quit drinking 1.5 yrs ago and also found it easy except I still get so much social pressure to drink at social events. Caffeine is my next project, although I’m realizing that addiction is a lot worse for me.
My tragectory was quite alcohol 12 yrs ago, smoking 9 yrs ago, keto- ketovore 4+ yrs ago, lost 95 lbs in ketosis and never hungry. Keep it up! Peel that onion ya'll!
That's great man good decision, for me i did feel bad only few days before, but this last time it was like over a month, we should advise others not to drink because sometimes it becomes worse if someone doesn't quit drinking.
I only made the mistake of drinking to nausea once. I recovered quickly from the hangover, but just the thought of a beer made me nauseous for 6 months. Which is the advantage of alcohol for me. My body just revolts if I drink too much. It's not the same for opiates or weed.
As someone that drinks in moderation on the weekends I’m happy for everyone in the comments talking about how much being sober has improved their lives. Don’t fall for the goofy social pressures to feel like you have to drink to fit in. Do what makes you feel best
Sex addiction food addiction and drug addiction cause shrinking of the prefrontal cortex. According to Google Bipolar people also may get brain-shrinking damage, which may cause other physical illnesses, they used to be more sexual and cheat on partners. Alcohol and smoking cause men to decrease testosterone. Sex addiction and porn addiction also causes lowering the intelligence level and losing memory. It seems that maybe addicts live in fantasy about how smart they are, yet their brain becomes dumber and dumber. The only way to maintain happiness and youth is doing meditation, and practicing empathy and gratitude is part of it too. Some say its the orgasm between brain and heart. because it activates the enzyme called Telomers, which makes people feel happier, look younger, and live longer, It increases immunity and epigenetics.
Be careful brody. All of us former alcoholics started that way. Next thing you know, you're waking up on Monday - Sunday drinking whiskey. And sneaking that drink on lunch break at work. You know whiskey is really good mixed in coffee 😉 Anyways, you can still develop Cirrhosis or Liver Disease only drinking on weekend btw. It's happened to plenty of people. If you heard all the stories about what drinking regularly can do to your body you'd want it banned too. 25 - 35 year olds are dropping dead from alcohol abuse from conditions you'd think only older drinkers suffer from. Also, it's well known that almost everyone lies about their alcohol consumption so they dont look bad and irresponsible. Especially the ones at the bar every weekend you can bet they drink at home too weekdays. My girlfriend claimed to be an "only weekend" drinker until a few months into the relationship she slipped and admitted she drinks a white claw before going to work. I'd bet money you don't drink on just weekends. Anyways alcohol was a lesson I had to learn for myself so I get it. Drink away bud.
Please don’t lose hope if you’re stuck in the cycle of alcohol addiction. I’m over 3 years sober and thought it was hopeless. If I can quit anyone can. Stay strong. I encourage people to find alternatives when first quitting.
I agree.. Oct 1 I'll have 24 years sobriety. I didn't think I would have the life I have now, and I wouldn't have if I didn't stop drinking. I never looked down on people that drink..hell I was jealous they could stop. I couldn't stop.
All I find is negativity, scare tactics, on here. It’s such bs. TH-cam is no help, I think it makes it worse, watching this crap. What’s ur advice? I’m going to say, I didn’t quit drinking, I’m see how many days I can go without a drink. If that’s forever, then great, one can hope. I’m going to take it one day at a time.
I stopped drinking February 28th this year after happening across some of your videos. After stopping, I found that by watching a video from your archives in the morning with coffee was the best way to keep my decision top of mind and reinforce my commitment. Thank you!
I’ve definitely had a drinking problem since I was a teenager. I’m 56 now. Ive quit drinking for one month. I feel great!!! I don’t even have a craving for a drink. Better late than never to quit.

Sober since 9/13/2008. I was a terrible drunk, and alcoholic from a young age. My life has been completely transformed. My all over health has been completely transformed. Thank God for sobriety. Thank God for AA.❤
I am approaching 11 months with no alcohol and I feel the best and I am in the best shape I've probably ever been in my adult years. The mental clarity is unbelievable.
Yes! And the energy! The mental focus! The ability to actually GET THINGS DONE instead of the old "Ah, I'll get to it" and never getting to it. Life is so much better!
Watching Painkiller on Netflix and was wondering why a show isn’t made about the fact alcohol is even worse. The opioid epidemic is horrible, but the alcohol epidemic is pushed under the rug and causes even more deaths. I’m thankful to be 18 days AF and I’m going to keep going!
I made a decision "not to do that when I grow up" when I was 8...🙄 I grew up around it and as one auntie said, "you can either learn from your mistakes kid or learn from other people's " I'm 63, never drank..😊
Been an alcoholic for over 20 years. Im 2 years sober now. The hardest part is learning to forgive yourself of who you were and learning who you are or are growing to be. I regret all of it. Now i just concentrate on building my relationship with god and being a better man than I was yesterday. Thats not without saying the struggle is real and it seems to be with me just as my shadow is.
Good point, I was a violent drunk as a youth, but always blamed myself, stopped drunking in my 20’s 70’s now & finding new ways to improve brain health!
Been an alcoholic for 10 years, I’ve cut down quite a bit from where I came, used to drink 750mls in a night, now I can make that last a week, still got a long ways to go, but Atleast now I feel more capable, and I have many nights and events where I can simply say no to drinking all together. Fighting back on those impulses always feels rewarding. When you really sit down, you have so many addictions in life, and when you realize and fight all of those addictions it can be so rewarding.
Yes also psilocybe is absolutely amazing for cognitive health and physical. I micro dose and it has definitely helped me!! I quit smoking 🚬 after 29 yrs and alcohol completely last 60 days. Before that I only drank maybe 1 or 2 a week for about a yr. Before that I was a functional alcoholic!!

I quit drinking 25 days ago after almost 2 decades of heavy drinking that culminated in me drinking before work, at lunch, after work, and before bed. Needless to say, things got really dark and I didn't think I would ever get out of that cycle. These have been the most rewarding 25 days of my life, and I'm truly grateful and lucky to finally be sober.
I have been drinking since 17 I’m now 34, at times I was really heavy on it but nowadays not so much but I must say during the heavier periods of drinking I was really depressed and the joke of it is that the more I drank to ‘help my depression’, the worse I would feel but at the time I couldn’t see. I do still drink in semi moderation but I am seriously looking to knock it on the head. I read a lot of comments on people stopping and it really is inspiring to us who are thinking or already half way there so thank you to you all, LIFE is all the drug we need!!! Stay focused people x
I saw one of your videos in January when I was hung over on a Sunday. I quit drinking thanks to you. Since then I started running 4 days a week. I ran my first marathon yesterday, time was 4:32. It-s never too late to turn your life around.
Just did a speech at work in front of a crowd of 300 ppl. Never would’ve happened had I not been sober for 5yrs, Iam so grateful to be living in a life of recovery.
@@extracrispypp5473 in a way I would say it gave me more confidence due to having more clarity in my mind and thoughts. In 2007 I got married and I remember when my wife and I approached the podium and had to speak in front of our guests I took a couple of shots to get rid of my jitters and when I went to speak I was fumbling names which I shouldn’t have and my mind was foggy and I couldn’t put together my phrases properly due to being nervous etc…. @@extracrispypp5473 I still get anxious but now am able to deal with it a lot easier. breathing techniques help me out a lot and when doing any type of public speaking I always have a bottle of water with me and if I need to gather my thoughts I just take a sip and get back at it.
I have been alcohol and drug free for 10+ years. Very worth it. Social situations are awkward at events but it’s worth the challenges and worth the outcome of meeting other sober people who are interested in their overall well-being also
The social component has ruined some of my closest friendships. I know how it is. Just keep doing what's right for you and the right people will follow, too. Much love,
Almost 5 years alcohol free stopped when the Lancet study came out but its easy to socialize and defend on account to the fact that the new evidence shows no safe dose. People respect that. Most of our friends found same info and quit as well.
I lost my dad to alcoholism. He ended up with alcohol induced dementia in the hospital, nearly died and then made a recovery and was starting to become himself again. Unfortunately, his alcoholic wife was encouraging him to drink again and before long he was back in the hospital and then died. Even after going through this, one of my sisters still chooses to drink quite a bit. Alcohol has been ruining lives and families for far too long!
It’s only a problem for the weak, the rest of us just enjoy it for the pleasure it is. My indulgence is fine wine, which tends be a an expensive indulgence at 600 to 4000 dollars a bottle ( there are many who can afford much finer and more expensive wines than that) but for me that price range is typically where I find I get most bang for my bucks in terms of price / quality and frankly I’m not one of those people who can afford 70000 or 100,000 dollar bottles, or more. It is however one of my great passions in the same way a wonderful black truffle is.
Everyone metabolizes differently. Alcoholics are typically fast metabolizes and so they get a buzz quick but they loose it quick so they start ‘chasing’ that buzz. Slow metabolizers can have a drink and the feeling stick with them and not desire another. People who are alcoholic typically are very deficient in vit D(more sunlight) and b vitamins, the alcohol makes them feel better short run but long run runs their body down, something to consider if you have a loved one stuck in alcoholism. My dad is a recovered alcoholic, his dad died of cirrhosis and so did his dad. My fathers kids have broken the cycle. Supposedly liquor was called spirits because as you drink, your spirit becomes weakened and if you black out, another spirit comes into your body….
@@randomcole619 Totally agree. Vitamin D and B vitamins. B for brain. And doesn’t everyone feel better with sunshiny days than day after day of rain. Vitamin D comes from sunlight. I have to supplement in this climate. Even with sunny days in winter here there is not enough skin exposure to get enough D from the sun. Too bundled up in order to keep warm outside. B vitamins benefit your entire nervous system. I firmly believe if I had known about them when I was very nutrient deficient I would not have broken out in shingles. Had a terrible case with no anti viral drug prescribed, not sure why it wasn’t given, maybe negligence. Ended up with a lot of damage done to the nerves and post herpetic pain for decades. So get all the good nutrition you should be getting, especially B and D vitamins. Then you will be happier without alcohol.
I was never a heavy drinker nor did I ever feel I was addicted. But it occurred to me that when I was a kid I didn't need alcohol to sit by a camp fire or enjoy a gathering of friends. So I decided to just stop drinking and enjoy life with a clear mind.
I always assumed alcohol is the excuse American culture makes to regress to childhood and act silly or goofy. If more of us felt comfortable being lighthearted, we wouldn’t need a chemical excuse to make it socially acceptable.
@@atari7001 sir animals in the wild have been found eating fruits that ferment into alcohol with the explicit purpouse of getting drunk. Not just one species, different kinds of animals do that. In 2006 I was admitted to hospital with acute alcoholic hepatitis. I was 31 and a chronic drinker. I was in alot of pain and my skin and eyes were bright yellow. I got injured and so I'm off work for a month and a half. I started drinking a few beers every night and today, my heart was just racing and skipping beats. I realized this had happened before and when I took a break from drinking, it went away. Today, I made a conscious decision to step away from alcohol for a bit because i think it's the most likely cause of my recent anxiety. THEN I saw this video and now I'm thinking of making this break a more permanent thing. I saw this video for a reason tonight. Thank you!
I quit alcohol more than 450 days ago and will never go back, it changed so many things in my life. My social life is way healthier (playing games, having meaningful discussions instead of just getting drunk together), i have a better job (also not turning up hungover) and a great family life. It got rid of all the toxic people i had in my life without even realizing it! I thought that by quitting i would lose my friends and not have fun anymore, but i actually made way better friends and have way more fun. Drinking alcohol disrupted my pleasure circuits, so i had really high highs, and really low lows. Now i have highs and lows as everyone does, but without feeling like shit regularly. My anxiety has lowered, i think more clearly,... if anyone is wondering what it would be like to go sober, please give it a shot you won't regret it! Thank you for this video
Just about every bad decision ive made in the last 25 years, every embarrassment or loss I've taken has involved alcohol. Yet repeatedly consumed. Pretty much couldn't enter a social setting without drinking. I absolutely hate the effects its had on my life, but absolutely love how it makes me feel. I don't currently drink
So true. There was a period when I started drinking habitually, not to the point of passing out, but I remember in that period I could trace back most stupid decisions to happening after ingesting alcohol. Anger problems, mood swings, etc. it doesn’t mean every time I drank I did something stupid, but most of the time I did something stupid was under the influence, even in small doses.
I was going through very stressful time last December and almost killed myself by drinking a lot in a few days and ended up with congestive heart failure! Lucky a friend made me go to Drs. Stopped and said I wouldn’t drink anymore. Did great for about 8 months and then people would say oh you can have a little wine or a drink or two on occasion. I noticed that I was creeping up again. I noticed I was getting more depressed!( alcohol is a depressant!). After seeing this today I have decided to stop completely! Can’t have just one! I admire the men doing this video beyond words and want to be healthy for my husband( we are both elderly). Wish me well 😂
5 years sober, in those 5 years I’ve found Christ, bought a house, work out every day, my wife and I have never been in a better place, she’s a stay at home mom now homeschooling our children because I now make enough to sustain our modest life. I’m still an alcoholic and always will be, I can never ever let my guard down and that’s a challenge I happily take on.
I wish the negative side effects were so clear for me too. But other than being fat, I have a cool and loving life. If I quit I will miss alcohol allot.
I am very proud of my mother for quitting alcohol. Also thank you dr. Andrew huberman and anyone else for throwing your knowledge out here about this drug.
A friend I've known since childhood died 6 months ago from Long-term alcohol abuse at the age of 35. Had a pacemaker installed 2 years prior to his passing when he almost died from it prior and that couldn't make him stop. Sad to see when people aren't happy with themselves and let themselves go to the point of death. Good luck to everyone trying to quit! You can do it, don't let it put yourself in an early grave!!
I remember being confused at the start of lockdowns of non essential businesses .. liquor/beer stores stayed open. Not being a habitual drinker I was baffled. “How is this essential? I can’t buy socks that I need to work but I can buy whiskey?”. Until I realized how many ppl would suffer withdrawal and end up in the already overflowing hospitals with DTs. Our government already knew this without having to test it. Did a little research of my own. Alcoholism is rampant in our society.
I’ve been avoiding alcohol at gatherings lately and getting all kinds of flack from people. While I find that the first half hour I feel socially anxious and usually alcohol takes that edge off, if I don’t drink, something cool happens, I spontaneously relax sometime between 30 and 60 minutes and feel great and enjoy everyone’s company and don’t find myself saying impulsive silly things like I would when I’m drunk. And I don’t have a hangover and no concern regarding driving either….and I’ve lost 2 inches off my waist and I’m getting a six pack again!
I’d rather not even be in social situations without drinking as I feel uneasy the entire time. I quit drinking forty years ago. When I gave up smoking my taste became more sensitive and I hated the taste of anything with alcohol. Social anxiety still haunts me but I’ll never go back to drinking. I’ll probably always be like this. I’d rather be with one or two people than a group when socializing. I feel totally overwhelmed and like a fish out of water in a big group.
I work a pretty stressful job but really only drink on the weekends but I’m at a point now where I feel it’s definitely taken a bit of a toll on me. I usually work out or go hiking which helps me recover faster and feel great again. Only to drink again that following weekend. It’s a constant cycle. Watching this and reading the comments has sparked my curiosity to try to cut out alcohol for some time and see how different it makes me feel. Thank you
Awesome video! I've gone a month without drinking after binge drinking and casual drinking for twenty year(since I was 16) and I'm so excited to actually enjoy things now that I'm not always drinking at every social function and day off from work.
11 months today. I cannot believe it’s been almost a year since I was hallucinating and hearing voices because I was so dehydrated from being so hungover that I couldn’t even keep water down. I found out that the reason I was abusing alcohol is because I actually have very severe ADHD that was going untreated. I did not get on medication for it until a couple of months ago, so I had quite a bit of sobriety under my belt, but now I realize that drinking alcohol and blacking out almost every single time was a dopaminergic seeking behavior. I’ve lost weight, tightened up my friends circle, set boundaries, and fell in love with all my old hobbies that I had as a child, that I was either ridiculed for, or had taken away for me as a punishment because I was having trouble focusing, and just getting along in school. Life is just so much better now.

Honestly death isn't what made me quit the booze, it was they idea of dieing while still being alive. Wet brain, digestive problems, dry skin, bad blood pressure bad sleep. I already have back problems and when I was drinking I still lifted weights. One day I just decided I'd rather die naturally and age at a healthy rate. So I just said you know what I’m not doing this anymore. Came home one day got rid of whatever bottles I had left in the house. I got disgusted with it in a sense.
Was never an alcoholic, but began enjoying too many drinks on a frequent basis, and haven't had a sip or a puff of herb or nicotine in almost 4 months. I smoked herb and nicotine daily for years. Being sober beats it all man. I feel so much better everyday. Our bodies experience natiral highs and lows and sometimes i literally feel like im cominf down from smoking and its just my body. Oddly enough, I had better gains when I was drinking and eating like trash. My diet is healthy now, but not as anabolic. Easier to build muscle when you eat a bunch of junk food and a bunch of fibrous plants I think.

My husband and I weren't having much fun at a party, so we drank a little more. The next morning, we both felt crummy, but also realized that drinking didn't help us to have any more fun at the party! So, we decided to stop drinking, except for a very little at celebratory occasions. We've never missed it.
Brother. I don't know what I was thinking. I quit smoking cigarettes and realize I could not drink alcohol without one so I had to quit both.... I'm a few weeks in and can already tell a huge difference. Like any toxic relationship it's only when you're out of it that you see how unhealthy it was.

The boredom goes after a while because you start to fill your life worthwhile activities which take up your time. I’ve been six years without and I’m never bored.

It's frustrating that so much of our society is built around drinking. If you want to go out and do something, be around people, be social, after 5pm (when the coffee shops close) the only option is the bar. @brantpowell5483 What you're saying in your comment makes sense. The "Stop drinking and Start living" it might not be so appropriate and useful. Good communication and encouraging someone to talk about why they drink, and offering options for help and support may motivate them to quit alcohol. Definitely you cannot force someone to stop abusing alcohol. Also we shouldn't making them feel shame or lowering their self-esteem, cause will do no good in a situation such as this. We have to remember alcoholism is a disease! Thanks for the reply and have a great day!🙌
Been drinking since 18 and it turned into a huge problem at around 23 or 24 and lasted till about 34 years old i went to rehab for 6 months and was able to actually develop an appreciation for the ability to actually enjoy things in life without the sauce. I still have a beer or 2 every now and then maybe every 3 months or so but when i have one i dint really feel the desire to keep the party going but ill admit after that drink or 2 i feel like i messed up so in the end its really not worth 30 mins to an hour of that slightly lifted mood.
Haven't had a drop in 11 years. Recently diagnosed with autism and that explained a lot of why I used to drink. I'm terrible in social situations, but the booze acted as a social lubricant and allowed me to drop the defences and have a good time. That's what I really miss about it, but happy I'm no longer poisoning myself. But as mentioned they have to keep it legal, imagine if prohibition was brought in today. And if possession was in same class as other drugs. More people in jail than on the outside.
I just stumbled upon this video, but felt compelled to say something. I appreciate videos like this. I just got my year sober on August 3rd. My life has become exponentially better and manageable. Even though things are still tough, I find I am capable of making better decisions and coping with depression in healthy ways. Thanks for sharing the vid and I sincerely hope anyone watching this that has a problem can find some solace in knowing sobriety is achievable!! Have a great day all.
Depression is just a state of mind, it comes from inside not outside. There's people in very poor countries who have it worse than you in every aspect of life, but aren't depressed. I'm not trying to insult you, in no way this is my intention. I want to help people develop immunity to depression and develop a more effective mechanism for dealing with problems. Be strong, as Christian, my parents always taught me. "God gave us each a cross to carry up the hill in life, it's our job to carry it, and because God knows your strength better than you, don't complain that this cross is too heavy"
Someone once said to me a really deep thing, "They call it spirits for a reason." That statement hit me like a hammer and made sense that it opens the doors and becomes an avenue for "the spirits" to influence and inhabit the drinker. Really a profound thought. Think about it ;)
You are 💯 correct! 🙌 Definitely opens up portals spiritually and not in a good way. Its subtle and innocent at first ...by the time one realizes whats happening they are 🪝 hooked. Good news is that there is always Hope ☺️💪🙏 One can quit with Gods help and strength also support and love from others. Most importantly is to love ❤️ ourselves to start the new life that's waiting for us. 💪☺️🙌
I suffered from alcahol abuse for a couple years. I know how scary it can be to know how damaging alcahol is to every part of your life but still be unable to stop consuming it. Luckily I found Allen Carrs book on alcohol and it opened my eyes and helped me happily quit. To anyone struggling to quit I would highly recommend, the worst that can happen is you keep drinking. Eaither way I sympathise with anyone who's struggling right now.
Love this, just had my third sober Christmas, best thing i have ever done was going to AA working the 12 steps and going to meetings, not only for me but for my family life is a million times better...
It was the Huberman Lab podcast deep dive into alcohol which convinced me to completely cut it out of my life. While I had been a very low level drinker relative to most for years, I now drink perhaps a few times a year (and even then just one) at social occasions etc. I never get anything good from it, and very happy to slowly remove it completely in the years ahead to zero.
I thank God for giving me the inner strength to Hard quit this poision 3 days ago after 13 years of it. Mild cravings but looking at my health and future seems alot brighter now even if it's only been 3 days of soberity.
How are you doing? give us an update. were pulling for you on this. A Lot of people read comments, but they dont type remarks. But theyr'e thinking on you.
I'm a victim of an alcoholic father/step father. I didn't realise that I had CPTSD until 2 years ago(59). I've learned that when you make a friend that has made alcohol their friend, their best friend will always be alcohol. When the only friend I had for more than 2 years(step father was navy) became an alcoholic(1985), I vowed to never have anything to do with activities involving alcohol. Also being an atheist has made for a lonely life.
You’re not alone ❤ it can get hard when everyone is going out, drinking etc. When church seems like the only other aspect for social interaction. There are plenty of things to meet new people and get out of the house. Join a men’s shed, get into golf or another sport, there are many ways to teeter the loneliness if you need. The internet can help too on some level but it’s also addicting and keeps you at home. You’re loved and you’re doing amazing by not giving into the societal pressure to be a drug induced citizen
You did the right thing and it's time for change to the better. You are a valuable human being and there's people out there waiting for your gift. It's time to move to new habits and be more optimistic about your future. Put yourself out there. Your already know what to do. Do it.
Haven’t had a sip of alcohol in 460 days. I wasn’t a heavy drinker, I wouldn’t make good choices and I just knew it was good for me. I was over it. I am so glad I chose me ❤
I’ve been focusing on better habits. I was using a beer at the end of the day as a reward. One beer always turns into many more. I haven’t had a drink in a week and I feel so much better. The problem for me is I can’t have just one. Now, I understand why I can’t stop at one. I’m severely anemic and I need to get my health back!
I think I understand you pretty well. My "plan " is invariably to drink a certain amount (say 4 pints ) but it somehow invariably degenerates into these massive binges where everything goes till there is nobody left to drink with or/and everything is shut. There is either no alcohol at all ,or , a very unhealthy compulsive disorder of sorts .
Your problem isn’t alcohol it’s a lack of self control and self discipline. All alcohol does is expose your weaker character traits. At the end of the day the problem isn’t the booze, it’s you.
@@supertuscans9512 for sure it lessens inhibition and I am certainly a wild child. However my organs can only sustain the wild childhood for so long. Thanks for this. I take a break from drinking for days at a time, but boredom or socialising draws me back in. Looking back, the stupid episodes booze has involved me in makes me ashamed!
When I drink I feel like a split personality version of myself, which is significantly more tired, negative, apathetic, unmotivated, depressed, dumber and less creative. There’s rarely been a time where I thought afterwards ”I’m so glad I had those drinks!” My mind usually just goes into all kinds of negative thought loops and everything in the world seems more awful.
just make a decision to stop and never look back. I went to AA 3 times a day for first year . You'll find amazing love and support there. I also took up meditation and got into self help. Life is so much better
1 year 2 months sober now. I suffered from severe alcoholism. I drank to lessen my anxiety and depression but it flared. I eventually became very ill and ended up with multi organ failure. Spend 11 days in coma. After that I carried on drinking 2 years more. 2 rehabilitation centers and AA saved my life. It's fun until it's not. And once your hooked, well it's hell getting out of it Good luck everyone!
I quit for 5 months starting in April, but recently had some drinks. I was reminded on how crappy I feel the next morning even if it’s one or two drinks. Not worth it at all. I’m back on the no drinking and plan to keep it that way forever ❤️
I’ve scoured TH-cam and watched many and many videos from different random people on this topic/subject and I must say that this video is probably the best and most informative video on the subject on the whole platform. Been in recovery for 5 years now and living clean and sober but I can never stop learning and being diligent about the path iam on. Will be watching the video time and time again.
This is the most excellent and compelling message I’ve ever watched, regarding alcohol. Thank you so much! I have shared this video link to at least 10 of my friends and family. Bravo! Charlie
I didn’t intentionally quit drinking this year. I just kind of kept choosing health but it’s been months since I’ve had a drink. I drank a ton in my 20’s. I think I’m just over it now. I value health more. It’s such an epidemic.
Used to drink beer, ipa’s especially everyday. Haven’t drank now for about 3 months. Feels like I’m kinda living another life almost. I’m free to live instead always avoiding situations because I was drunk. So far, I feel great. I’ve been educating myself as much as possible about alcohol and addiction so I can move on with my life and stay focused and happy.
For me it has only been 6 month without alcohol. I am really thankful that it has been relatively easy for me to stay sober. I drank pretty much every day, most of the time only a few beer or even just one for the last 20 years or so. I don't know anyone who doesn't drink, but that is ok. Drinking does not make any sense to me, so I just enjoy not to be under the influence of a drug at any moment. The worst thing is everyone is picking on me and joking about me beeing a non drinker now... but obviously I couldn't care less. I have to mention that I live in Germany. Most people here drink...even people that tell you they only drink occasionally drink quite a bit most likely, and just lie about that.
I was never much of a drinker, mostly a beer or wine now and then , but I gave up all alcohol last summer and don’t miss it AT ALL! I also changed my eating to the proper human diet.

I started Dry January 01/01/2020 with initial intention of just that month. But about halfway in, I decided to quit for good. One of my best choices and recommend it to anyone, everyone. Congratulations on your commitment to change 🎉
Stopped drinking back in February as it’d got out of control. Lost weight, look/feel better and the anxiety has decreased. Had a good 30 year session so no rush to get back into it!

55 years of whiskey and I still enjoy it .
It's hard to convince an old man who's smoked and drank all his life that those things will kill you.

Been sober off alcohol for 10 years, one of the best things I’ve ever done.

The last time I drank alcohol, I made myself so sick I couldn't function for 2 days. Been sober over 10 years now. Best thing I ever did
That's great man good decision, for me i did feel bad only few days before, but this last time it was like over a month, we should advise others not to drink because sometimes it becomes worse if someone doesn't quit drinking.

Be careful brody. All of us former alcoholics started that way. Next thing you know, you're waking up on Monday - Sunday drinking whiskey. And sneaking that drink on lunch break at work. You know whiskey is really good mixed in coffee 😉
Anyways, you can still develop Cirrhosis or Liver Disease only drinking on weekend btw.

Thanks for sharing bro
It's not "one of" is the best decision you will ever made
In 2006 I was admitted to hospital with acute alcoholic hepatitis. I was 31 and a chronic drinker. I was in alot of pain and my skin and eyes were bright yellow. The odds were against me but God willing I made it. This shit is legal and glamourised, it’s shocking. Today I’m so grateful that I got another chance that I won’t take it for granted. Love to all that have been through any alcohol issues and the families it destroys. 🙏🙏❤️❤️
PRAISE the LORD!
It's been over a six months I quit alcohol.
The best decision I have ever made🙏

@mariettestabel275 thank you.

@@stuartmc18 That's awesome.
I feel like that would be my easiest target.
@tr-qr7pw A drinker or an alcoholic will always find a reason to drink.
Today is 7 days without alcohol.
I drank a bottle of vodka almost every day for around 2 months
Keep going, hang tough! It will be different and more positive than you can hope for!
Damn bro that's crazy, keep going, your future self will thank you 😊
Good job!
Exercise tomorrow and make it day 8
Good for you. Keep it going. Your body will thank you.
@@han1218 yep

Wish me well 😂
How is it going, hope you're still doing well, I have decided to stop, only been a week but have to start somewhere
Where was Christ hiding?
That's awesome you made enough money in five years to buy a house, what do you do for work?
@@incremental_failure look for a talking, burning bush
I wish the negative side effects were so clear for me too. But other than being fat, I have a cool and loving life. If I quit I will miss alcohol allot.
The whole found Christ thing is pathetic. Why can't you get your act together without some mythical being.
Almost 4 years now since I quitted drinking alcohol and I could not regret more of not doing it 10 years earlier.
Don't regret it. You're doing it now
I’m guzzling jet cold Guiness right now, it’s very refreshing
I am very proud of my mother for quitting alcohol. Also thank you dr. Andrew huberman and anyone else for throwing your knowledge out here about this drug.
I stopped 7 months ago with alcohol. I feel so much better, lost alot of weight and even going to the gym now 💪🏼
A friend I've known since childhood died 6 months ago from Long-term alcohol abuse at the age of 35.
I'm blessed to be clean and sober 21 years.
I am almost 2 years sober now. Best decision of my life. Happy and healthy and succeeding in ways I never thought I could.

Been 10 years + now without a drop. Been the best 10 years of my life.
Alcohol peels off the layers of who you are until you're someone else entirely.
I haven't drank alcohol in years now, and it feels great.
7, almost 8 years sober! 😊 You can do it! Especially if I can.
I never thought I would not drink but after a night on it after many years thinking I was having fun … I decided in that moment that I would never drink alcohol again ! Over nine years later and still haven’t … By far the best thing I’ve ever done for myself ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Just curious, did you feel sickly after? I had that too, I just decided you know what why I’m doing this. But for me I’d get a headache or feel sick after a nice night out with the girls. So I just said you know what I’m not doing this anymore. Came home one day got rid of whatever bottles I had left in the house. I got disgusted with it in a sense.
Impressive. Well done.

Oddly enough, I had better gains when I was drinking and eating like trash. My diet is healthy now, but not as anabolic. Easier to build muscle when you eat a bunch of junk food and a bunch of fibrous plants I think.
Yes. I noticed it ruins my performance at work. I do intensive manual labour.
Like when farmers bulk up there cattle by feeding them shit that probably have the same shit that is added into our food like genetically modified shit. Grass feed/organic cattle take longer to grow but their meat is better so I'm guessing it's the same for us.
@@limitisillusion7 I would say it's more of an issue of being able to eat large caloric intake values of healthy food vs trash food (which is much easier), and at the end of the day more calories = more gains, albeit not always as high quality of gains as possible.

I have quit alcohol for about 3 months. Sometimes, I get bored as it was nice to get a buzz at the end of the day, but I feel so much better overall. I'd rather feel bored every day than hung over even once.
I have 30 days board got me to a few times me and my girlfriend drinking is how I relapsed after 4 years lived in sober living for 3 years covid and colitis got me down she could quit I've been struggling have even though about going back to rehab but I don't have any one to pay Bill's wile I'm in there thought about selling every thing but its 3 years of stuff
The boredom goes after a while because you start to fill your life worthwhile activities which take up your time. I’ve been six years without and I’m never bored.
I'm thinking about going dry for a couple weeks just to "try it on" and see how it feels. I love that end of the day buzz but don't want to depend on it. Plus, I don't really need the extra calories 🍷🍻🍸🍾
It's frustrating that so much of our society is built around drinking. @JIMKATSANIDIS it's not a disease it a choice you make. However it does put the body in dis-ease.
Having autism has nothing to do with it. Everybody uses it as a social lubricant. Everyone.
Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed the video 🔥

Someone once said to me a really deep thing, "They call it spirits for a reason." That statement hit me like a hammer and made sense that it opens the doors and becomes an avenue for "the spirits" to influence and inhabit the drinker. Really a profound thought. Think about it ;)

I’ve been focusing on better habits. I was using a beer at the end of the day as a reward. One beer always turns into many more. I haven’t had a drink in a week and I feel so much better.
The problem for me is I can’t have just one. Now, I understand why I can’t stop at one.

I quit 6 months ago and I had no idea how good I could feel then vs now.
Well done. Also in your experience what is a proper human diet?
Carnivore?
