Saw Bruce showup at Madison Square Garden and performed this song with Seger. They tore the roof off of the Garden. Great concert. Seger rules!!!!

@@josephlemko3027 it happened a number of years ago (cannot remember the specific year) when Springsteen was performing in London. Towards the end of the concert he brought McCartney on stage. However, there was a noise ordinance that after 11pm noise could only be at a certain decibel level. They were exceeding it so the power to the arena was cut by the authorities right as they were in the middle of a song.
Not sure how anyone could dislike this! A proper rock'n'roll band, with two excellent artists, playing real instruments, and using real voices! There's nothing artificial about this performance, it's as real as it gets!

This was awhile ago, but I think Bruce was stunned at the power of Bob's full throat voice. It carries to the cheap seats without amplification. It's like trying to sing along with Janice Joplin, she didn't scream, she just projected. (She was very soft spoken, almost quiet in person)

I will respectfully amend that to, "Today's music ain't got any soul."
That's because today's singers and songwriters mostly don't have the same experiences that older ones did. Compare these two or someone like Johnny Cash or Ice-T to Justin Beiber or Ariana Grande. Please note, I'm not saying that they are bad people or can't sing. But their music doesn't have the same impact since it doesn't come from personal experience.

I was lucky enough to be there this night. It was absolutely amazing. The energy was unbelievable. I've been to several Seger concerts but this one was the most memorable!

The last time I got to see him was in Nashville 2019, Kid Rock came out for the encore, it was Just like you said, Bob rocks it every time he shows up.

Bob's well deserved retirement has left a hole in the rock'n'roll word. Enjoy these great musician while we can . Time is their and our greatest enemy. Thanks Bob for the sound track for our lives.
Bob went out a champ, still had the voice.
He retired to be there for his kids while they were growing up, I'd bet that he's still writing songs.

I saw Springsteen in Detroit in 2016 on The River Tour and at the end he brought up Bob for Tenth Avenue and Shout. It was kickass

Always been a Bruce fan, and my first concert ever was Bob Seger at The Meadowlands! An enormous experience for a small (I felt!), Swedish girl, for a while grooming harness horses (while other girls were au pairs!) in the BIG USA, June (I think) 1983!

I saw Seger in 1987 (?) before heading to the West Coast. At the show he announced he was getting married. Excellent show. Long time gone.

Saw Bruce in Ann Arbor. Seger came out and they did "Thunder Road" together. They were much younger.....as was I.

alto reed has been seger's sax player since the early 70's.
He's no Clarence Clemons, that's for sure. You can hear the drag in this guy's playing that wasn't there when Clarence played.
Oh, how I just love hearing the crowd sing along! Wish he'd had just the guys singing it, and then the ladies, but this was still incredible.
If you like this song, I suggest you listen to Bobs early Stuff.. East Side Story, 2+2, Rambling Gambling Man, Lucifer etc.. he used to flat out ROCK
