Great video, thanks, really broke down the body movement. As a complete beginner at this technique, isolating each aspect of the movement is essential.

If you use complete immersion with double kick like me (kick with legs opposed to kick with arms ), I think you can swim more speed than classic dolphin kick.

Can you mention how to incorporate the breathing without having to stop the kicks

There will naturally be a very slight pause in kicking for the breath, just like there is for full stroke butterfly. When making it more specific for the butterfly stroke, the rhythmical kick pattern should be 1-2 1-2 1-2... rather than a continuous 1-2-3-4-5-6...
Try to breathe on an even numbered kick of the 1-2 pattern.
      Hope this helps

@@PropulsionSwimming Excellent, thanks for the tips; I did it and it felt very natural and I used the 1-2 for breadths. Please make more videos on butterfly stroke as I have only managed to learn this stroke since October. I need to figure out why my body cannot incorporate the 2nd kick. Some said the second kick is optional? I felt that my legs are dragging without the 2nd kick. What do you think?

Hmm, in trying to remember how to swim this stroke after 50 years of not doing it, it ain't easy. One thing I noticed with all the Olympians, both men and women is that on the breathing stroke, their heels come up out of the water slightly, but very noticeable. Best guess is that since you have to propel yourself up out of the water to inhale, and when inhaling you can't properly engage your abs, they are using greater amplitude to generate the power. Most of the energy from this kick comes from the waist down. On the rest of the kicks, the whole body is used in the wave to generate power.

You could try it wearing short swim fins. I found it easier to get started.

This wasn’t really a good video. As a beginner watching this, you did not mention anything of how you should breather while performing this
