    Hi subbies and friends,
    I am answering a question from a viewer who asked about deep-conditioning and Apple Cider Vinegar rinses.

    How To Deep-Condition Your Hair?
    Always start with clean hair. It is important to know whether your hair is in need of a deep moisture treatment or in need of a deep protein treatment.
    Once you select the conditioner, a regular conditioner can work just fine, apply it throughout your entire hair. Finally cover your hair with a plastic cap.
    Next, sit under the hooded hair dryer for 15 to 20 minutes. Or, wrap a towel around your hair for 45 minutes. Once done, head back to the sink or shower to rinse the conditioner out with cool water.

    Why Is Deep-Conditioning Your Hair Important?
    Deep-conditioning is a effective way to make sure that the best ingredients within your conditioner are penetrating the cuticles of your hair.
    Deep-conditioning will leave your hair softer because the warm heat will open the cuticle and allow the water to go inside.
    Once the hair cuticle is closed--after rinsing your natural hair with cool water and/or diluted apple cider vinegar--your hair will be soft, shiny and strong for a longer period of time.
    If you have porous hair, deep-conditioning is a great way to mend a damage hair strand with protein treatments.

    Which Conditioner Should Your Use To Deep-Condition?
    Selecting the right conditioner for your curly natural hair will result from trail and error. Use your rinse out conditioners and see which ones leave your hair looking and feeling the best.
    I like Jason, Giovanni, SheaMoisture, conditioner lines.

    Should You Wear A Plastic Cap Under Hooded Hair Dryer?
    Yes. Wearing a plastic cap while sitting under the hooded hair dryer is a simple way to protect your natural hair while it is conditioning. Also, it is less messy to wear a plastic cap.

    Why Rinse Your Hair With Apple Cider Vinegar?
    Apple Cider Vinegar has countless benefits on the body. Apple cider vinegar works great for the inside and outside of your body. Most people use acv on their hair to cleanse the scalp and hair strands. Diluted ACV works great to help close the cuticle of the hair strand. A closed hair cuticle is stronger, softer and will reflex light better (the hair will have more shine).
    Does PH Balance Really Matter For Black Hair?
    Using hair products with the wrong pH, such as 7 (like plain water) can make moisturizing your natural hair much more difficult than it needs to be. For example, if I were to use faucet water to moisturize my hair daily, I would literally be opening my hair cuticle and allowing it to easily lose the moisture that I added. My hair would become dry within a short time.

    I like this series!! Looking forward to more Q&A. I haven't tried ACV as a rinse but I use it in my food all the time. Will have to try it. Thanks! :)

      Hey naturalNstylish, I am glad that you like the series. I have tried ACV in my water bottle and I noticed that it made me feel really up. What type of foods do you add it to? Thanks for commenting (:

      I love ACV mixed with olive oil as my salad dressing. I also use it on greens (kale, spinach, collards, etc). I've even added a little to baked beans and chili to wake things up a bit! :)

    Good tips:) how often can we use acv as conditioner ??????

    • @OneLadyTee

      Hi Kiren, use diluted ACV rinses as often as you want. Some people use it every time they wash their hair to help bring the pH of their hair down to the correct range between 4.0-6.0. Thanks for your question (:

    How long do you leave on apple cider vinegar on you hair before you wash it out?

    • @OneLadyTee
      @OneLadyTee  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Juanita Richardson Hello, ACV penetrates the hair really fast; so you do not have to leave it on long at all. Simply rinse your hair with it once or twice and it should be all set (:

    If your closing cuticles after the apple cider rinse, why put a leave in conditioner or oils in your hair after? Doesn't the products just sit on top of your hair? My hair is very dry and I'm trying to gain as much knowledge as possible.Even though my hair is growing I have a HUGH problem with my crown where I have the most breakage.

      @OneLadyTee  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey sistersweare2002, great question. Most hair products do just sit on the hair strand and that is why deep conditioning is important. After the ACV rinse closes the hair cuticle, the hair products that you add will coat the hair and block moisture from leaving the hair strand, especially on porous hair. The extra hair products that we add are simply another line of defense against moisture loss. A lot of people experience hair breakage at the crown of their hair. This is a good topic to look into. Thanks for commenting (:

    Do you wash out the acv after you've rinsed your hair with it?

    • @OneLadyTee
      @OneLadyTee  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rume Jessa, no do not rinse out the ACV rinse--it is the final rinse. It will help to bring your hair back to the correct pH (4.5-6.0) after being subdued in water, which has a pH (7.0) that is too high for hair. Thanks for your question (:

    Hey after rising with acv can i blow dry my hair coz its sooo damaged as in breaking alot

    • @OneLadyTee
      @OneLadyTee  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** If your hair is damaged; then you should let it air dry. And maybe add a protein-rich leave-in conditioner or moisturizer to your hair while it's damp. Heat on damaged hair only makes it worse...maybe deep conditioning (with a plastic cap) under a hooded hair dryer would be best. Thanks for commenting (:

      +Uwera Christy Also, if it's breaking, it may be time for a trim.
