I got one, too. It came with an Edgar Bergen instruction record. My twin got Howdy Doody, which I co-opted. I learned how to throw my voice better than any ventriloquist that's famous. Shortly after getting them, a new kid moved to my elementary school, who had Mortimer Snerd and Danny O'Day. We wrote bawdy skits and got to perform for the school occasionally. After watching the Talking Tina Twilight Zone episode and the movie Dead of Night, I started getting creeped out by the dolls. I also bought a Lester doll, which was a black character.

In the mid 80's was a cartoon and a toy line called Inhumanoids, it was about 3 giant monsters trying to take over the world. The worst was D'Compose a giant rotting monster with a skull head and exposed ribcage and the lead monster was Metlar which looked like a giant armored satan. The toys were just as creepy, Metlar looked even worse than in the cartoon and D'Compose's ribcage could be opened to trap the good guys it even had rubbery guts inside.

I agree ☝️ with ya. Quite a few of these toys 🧸 seem to reflect 🆙on “Ghost Stories Of Christmas 🎅 Past”, especially for children 👦. It even seems more so, when a toy 🧸 starts talking during the night, or their eyes 👀 appear to follow them across the room. Tip, to avoid this feeling, just drape a washcloth 🧼, or similar item over the toy’s 🧸 eyes 👀. Also, remove the batteries 🔋 from any talking toys 🧸. This will insure that your children 👦 won’t be terrified by a random toy 🧸, talking during the night. Sounds pretty 😍 scary 😦. Your friend, Jeff.
