Vintage Freddy Couples is what I’m here for. Pure tempo since way back!

Dude, Fred was a beast! That 212 yard 7-iron into 18 was crazy considering the lofts of the clubs and balls they used back then.

i just dont get how that is possible. and the fact that he didnt even look like he nuked the swing, it just seemed as if he was hitting a normal shot. insane. i just dont get it

Yep. These guys were way longer than people give them credit for.

He actually hit it about 195, the 212 was to the hole. Obviously it was still a hell of a strike with a wound golf ball and the loft of an 8 iron now.

i remember watching this, fred made the sweater vest and polo shirt popular and guys were still wearing flared polyester slacks. tom watson, seve and trevino hamming it up for the camera, i still have a texmex hat. plenty of good players back then, i remember all of them.

Wonderful video, many thanks! It is a pleasure to see the old guys again and that birdie machine Couples was sometimes.
Does anybody know the title of the opening music? I have been looking for it for ages!

Wow....left on 12 used to be no bargain pre-reno. They really softened a lot of parts of this course over the years....
