When Mrs Gormley said 'A car driven by a SKELETON!', I burst out laughing. Then I went back and listened to it a half dozen times in a row and laughed like heck every time. Mary Jane Higby was hilarious.
I do listen to these all night long,,along with the Inner sanctum, Suspense, Lights out, the shadow, etc. But I have to say, CBSRMT is probably my favourite.
Me too Steve. Me to- I would sneak and stay up beginning at age 8 or 9 and here I am doing it again on my iPhone.... we got clean cool memories though..... things are nutty now
I started out watching mystery science theater 3000 and wound up here. This is very entertaining. I can imagine the family sitting around the radio listening to this.
SUCH great memories with this radio series. The first one I heard was at my dad's house in 2002. The first one I heard was Shadows from the Grave. My dad used to have a carousine lamp. and he'd turn that on and we'd listen to his collection of CBSRMT
EG Marshall was one of a kind. If you like eerie stories, let me recommend "The Gables" on YT. Here's the link: th-cam.com/video/Ot1sF7fkhMw/w-d-xo.html/.

oh my god,i simply love this.these are the kind of things i look forward to and live for.i love listening to these shows late at night with the lights low.i also read and love comic books and one of my favorites is the ghost rider,so i love this picture of the ghost driver.would love to blow this picture up and frame it .
Damn!!!! All these years later, diet and excercise are STILL the only way to lose "those extra pounds!" The Special K commercial in the opener is still true!! Argghh!
This episode may contain original commercials and news, BUT, unfortunately the narration of EG Marshall has been heavily edited. It isn’t a very good editing job either. Why? Who knows. There is only one collection of shows that has EG’s full narration. Those are the master tapes held by the family of producer and creator Himan Brown. Perhaps, one day, those masters will be released. We can only hope.
@32:19 - "You. You out there, listening. What would you do?" First, I'd get as much info about the "ghost car" as I could. How big did it look? How heavy? Then I'd get something heavier - a LOT heavier, like a Class 5 delivery or better yet road maintenance truck. In other words, I'd have a rhinoceros that would swat the other vehicle like a bug. THEN I'd "go drive up and down, all night if we have to!"
omigosh I found myself humming the Shop Rite song, once 🤣🤣 never had one where I grew up but that jingle is genius! Sticks in your head🎶🎶🎙🎧 Hey ma, what's for dinner!

The 'Watergate' news broadcast at the end within itself is priceless.

This is a favorite of mine
these sure do make me feel like a young boy in the 70s again sitting on the bed with the lights off imagining the picture in my mind of these shows

I still listen to the CBSRMT the same way today.
I love that you left the news and advertisements in. It's the zeitgeist and draws you in deeper into those old days.

I believe the CBSRMT uploads on the channel titled The Edge of Night contain Mr Marshall's complete and unedited narrations.
