Katarina's experience with MEP Michal Wiezik

On 14 February 2024, Katarina Slovakova, Platform of Volunteer Centres and Organisations (SK) volunteer, spent the day at the European Parliament with MEP Michal Wiezik implementing a beautiful work of interaction and mutual learning between the volunteer and the MEP.
Katarina attended the Petitions Committee and the ENVI Committee.
This activity is part of the #VERA2024 Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme funded project, where MEPs get closer to the volunteering field by job shadowing a volunteer during a normal day of activities and vice-versa does the volunteer. By wearing the shoes of volunteers, MEPs involved will be better suited to support, advocate, and value #volunteering in their daily work at the European Parliament.
