  • Do you want to learn how to use off camera flash for your wedding photography? In this video, I break it all down: the gear that I use, how I set it up, my exposure/flash power settings, and my thought process and approach. From there, I take you behind the scenes so you can see how I photograph an indoor wedding reception using the Fujifilm X-T3 and off camera flash from start to finish.

    A rookie watches this video and says "oh, yeah I can do this!" and thus a new wedding photographer is born:-) I really like your content. Found it looking for ways to shoot rings, etc using LED's (that video inspired me). But from inspiration to experience with light and what light does to photography is a huge leap.

    This off-camera flash tutorial is so good that I keep on watching it. I have a question Reggie. Instead of the two Godox AD200, would the Godox V860ii have enough power? You're only using them as rim lighting so you don't really need that much power, right?

    Great video and gave me lots of inspiration. Can I ask about the flash settings when you dragged the shutter. You had the camera set to 1/5th sec f/6.4 and ISO 160 but what is the zoom on the flash and the power/distance from the subject for this technique to work please?

    • @Reggiebphoto
      @Reggiebphoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Zoom all the way in. Power depends on the subject and exposure. Best to iterate

  • @kathleenhoare819

    Thanks Reggie, another great video. Do you ever have any issues at venues with wedding planners or brides complaining about allllllll the flashing??

    • @Reggiebphoto
      @Reggiebphoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve only had one complaint in 6 years. And it was a venue with a low ceiling and very cramped table layout. I ended up moving the flash to another location in order to accommodate the guest.
      But other than that, I haven’t. The flash is pointed at the couple and it’s only in heavy use when everyone else is looking at the couple too.

    Nobody has made this video before! Nice job! I am a fellow Fuji Wedding shooter as well. Currently using two XT2's (same lenses). Is the auto focus a game changer with the XT3? I tend to use zone focus when shooting the formal introductions and open dance because the auto focus would drive me nuts! Cheers!

    • @Reggiebphoto
      @Reggiebphoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nicholaus Mueller the autofocus is definitely better. But I think it still has a ways to go before it’s on Sony or dslr level

If you get a chance please do video on Camera settings for the night photography for weddings, events etc..

    • @Reggiebphoto
      @Reggiebphoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I use af-s single point for speeches and cake cutting. For the dancing it was af-c single point. The face tracking is not fast enough for weddings from my experience

    Great job bro. I feel you when you said it’s too difficult to move flashes around to cover everything. I found having one flash on a cheetah auto stand helps out a lot when it come to being able to move flashes quickly around the room especially in between tables.
