Can't believe that the best ever, "When superheroes lose it", comic is not on this list: 'Irredeemable', by Mark Waid. If you're reading this, love comics and haven't read it yet, I can't recommend it highly enough. Trust me: it's a masterpiece.

The entire "Marvel Zombies" Universe would fall easily into this category. As, every time a superhero becomes infected by the zombie virus, and becomes undead, in that universe, they immediately fall victim to their appetites for FLESH! And they unappologetically start chomping down on the nearest innocent bystanders. Occasionally, they have flashes of regret, or "wait, this is wrong!" And for a moment they go back to normal. But minutes later, they're back to being flesh-eating zombies. It's only after going MONTHS without eating any flesh that their normal states of mind take back over their wits, and they go back to normal. This happens after the zombies literally kill EVERY LAST LIVING THING in the universe, with their endless bloodlust for flesh, and wind up flying through Space, back to Earth, with nothing to keep their insanity going. Once they get back to Earth, a few of the Marvel Zombie heroes come to their senses, and realize they don't need to eat flesh to stay sane. And so (much too late, mind you) they become heroes again, fighting against their own zombie kin, in order to protect the dozen or so remaining living humans, who managed to avoid getting eaten the first time around. It's actually a really good story... I highly recommend the "Marvel Zombies" storyline for a good read. The artwork is mostly... meh... but the story itself is good enough to push through that.
I'm willing to let it go. They turned zombies, they ate people... It's their world now. But I can't forgive Spider-Zombie for ruining another Spider-man's world. The image of Spider-man dying at the hands of Sandman will haunt my nightmares...
Honourable mention goes to Superman deciding to stop holding back against the Elite and murdering them all without breaking a sweat in "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice and the American Way?" After spending the whole story with the Elite bullying, mocking, and belittling him, and Supes openly wondering if he could beat them if he had to, it all comes down to a fight on Io. The Elite beat Superman with everything they have. And then, when they think they've killed him, Superman decides he's had enough, and he kills them. One at a time, in a variety of horrible ways, in the space of just a couple of pages. And they, and we, realise just why it is that Superman always holds back - and how godsdamn terrifying he could be if he stopped. It's an honourable mention because, of course, Superman reveals at the end that he hadn't killed any of them, just knocked them out and put them somewhere safe. _Which is even more impressive and scary than if he_ had _killed them._
A slightly more famous example is "Superboy Prime" losing his shit, and going full-on insane, during "Infinite Crisis." He kills like 20 or 30 members of the Teen Titans before all four Flash-heroes gang up on him, and imprison Prime in the Speedforce (only for Prime to come back later, and kill Earth 2 Superman, before the entire Green Lantern Corps, Power Girl, and the main-universe Superman, gang up to put him away for good.)
Yes because it's not like any of The Seven has the same chance of beating evil Justice League as Viktor Fries has of beating Firestorm the Nuclear Man. 😂

This is a one on one "hero losing it moment", but this list made me think of it. It was from a comic called (I think) "The True Story of the Batman". In the story, Batman is confronting a criminal who pulls a gun on him. In Crime Alley. This doesn't end well. Bats proceeds to beat the ever-loving frogsnot out crook, screaming at him all the while, until he's stopped by Robin.
My favorite part of the Endgame fight with Superman is that it ends with a whimper while Bruce narrates that in a fight between Superman and Batman, nobody would win. What is there to be gained from a knockdown, drag-out fight between two heroes that are supposed to be best friends other than fanboy satisfaction? I feel it was a great little meta-commentary, and while I'm still not totally on board with how OP Snyder makes the Joker (He got to the whole Justice League, huh?), it was a pretty good way to get Bruce's super friends out of the picture so the rest of the plot can continue without the question of "And why isn't Clark there stopping the clown by the second issue?"

There’s a tragic storyline where a kid detective, Matthew Holmes, beats the everloving shit out of an evil businessman (cliche, I know), but nothing lethal. I think the closest I’ve come is when an unofficial superhero, Empathetica (she gives herself the title of “superhero”, but she’s not part of an organisation called “The Hero Order”), goes crazy trying to kill the same businessman, who is in a depowered state. Normally, he’d just regenerate, but a metal called “cyronite” was used to remove his powers temporarily. Matthew Holmes wanted to stop her and used a drug called IC-3 (power pusher) to push her emotions to the point where she was lobotomised, sending the entire world’s population into a coma. Empathetica’s ability is that she can give, take and spread emotions, including another person’s. There’s then a storyline which I haven’t quite finished yet, but a speedster dies in the end, saving the world from an eternal coma.
Batman from The Dark Knight Returns: Superman tries to hold him back to realize the questionable things he has done throughout the comic. Superman is trying to make the world a better place.

Does Phoenix eating an entire planet not get a mention? Or how about the entire Onslaught saga where Xavier combined Magneto's, X-Man's and Franklin Richards powers to threaten the world of extinction? Or the whole buildup of Emerald Twilightb showing Hal Jordan fighting and stranding all of his friends on his way back to Oa with him even killing Sinestro, kilowog & the guardians? This was before he absorbed the power battery and was tainted by parallax so this was all him. Or Ozymandias' endgame "I did it 35 minutes ago.". Just a few off the top of my head.

Well, to be fair I'm pretty sure Jules knew, he was just using his usual slightly oversnarked comedic style of description. I'm also not one of those "Batman never kills" guys cause, even leaving aside things like his first appearance when he dropped a man in acid, or the story where he carried and used Joe Chill's gun (the one that killed his parents), there are alternate worlds and such galore. For example, in 1994, in The Adventures of Superman annual 6 & Superboy annual 1, there was a story of the "Super Seven". Earth invaded by aliens, the military deafeated, the heroes fight on. The aliens proclain "for any meta human seen 1000 humans will be killed, if the metahuman fights our forces we will kill 5000 humans". 1 Green Lantern ignore the proclamation, and the aliens vaporise Coast City. The humans turn on costumed heroes, Green Arrow is crucified, Flash is permanently crippled, most heroes hide. As years pass a legend grows that Batman is still fighting, but he never leaves witnesses or proof of his presence so no retaliation is taken on the human populace. On thr 10th anniversary of alien rule the human planetary coordinator Lex Luthor stages an assassination attempt on the alien leader, it fails, nearly all remaining unpowered heroes are killed including Nightwing, Catwoman, & Guardian, no costumes were used. 10 years later the new coordinator Lana Lang approaches high ranking resistance leader James Olsen (right hand of General Lois Lane), and tells him she knows where Superman is hiding, and that like Lex she wants to end the alien rule. They find Clark, hiding in the one factory that never, ever fails to meet its quota. Eventually the few heroes remaining alive gather together, Superman, Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan, Flash (still can't run), Lex Luthor's brain in Metallo's body, Batman (still highly pissed at everyone for giving up), and a teenaged boy the ran into who calls himself Superboy. In the final battle, after Lana's betrayal, Wonder Woman dies, Flash dies, Superman dies, and Batman uses a suicide bomb to destroy the alien mothership.
Vanya's motives after being taken care of the people she sought to annihilate for feeling betrayed, reminds of Guts from Berserk. Similar to how Guts wants to annihilate Griffith for being betrayed.
What about Leonardo from tmnt after his near death experience after his fight with utrom shredder which took training from the ancient one to overcome loved that arch
In Legion of Super-Heroes, Element Lad (EL) finds Roxxas, the man who (with his associates) killed everyone on his home planet of Trom. Roxxas had returned to Trom to hide. EL snapped and was going to execute Roxxas with a ray gun. He shot Roxxas but another Legionnaire (Chemical King) used his powers to weaken the weapon so it only fired a beam of ordinary light, saving Roxxas' life. It turned out that the radiation on Trom, combined with his guilt, has driven Roxxas insane. Roxxas thought he was being haunted by the ghosts of the people he had murdered. EL came to regard his actions as a disgrace to the memories of his people (despite being stopped he had still intended to commit murder). Due to their powers (transmutation), discipline was essential and EL had failed.
I honestly am tired of this who fade where superheroes, who are people we're striving to emulate, are no better than the villains they fight, who are now being written as humanized victims of circumstances

There was a cartoon where the protagonist had thing rings. He would say "thing rings, do your thing". He would then give himself a fist bump and when the two rings touched he would turn into the thing.

These guys are almost as bad as WatchMojo. Not really surprising they made this mistake.
Well, to be fair I'm pretty sure Jules knew, he was just using his usual slightly oversnarked comedic style of description. I'm also not one of those "Batman never kills" guys cause, even leaving aside things like his first appearance when he dropped a man in acid, or the story where he carried and used Joe Chill's gun (the one that killed his parents), there are alternate worlds and such galore.
For example, in 1994, in The Adventures of Superman annual 6 & Superboy annual 1, there was a story of the "Super Seven". Earth invaded by aliens, the military deafeated, the heroes fight on. The aliens proclain "for any meta human seen 1000 humans will be killed, if the metahuman fights our forces we will kill 5000 humans". 1 Green Lantern ignore the proclamation, and the aliens vaporise Coast City. The humans turn on costumed heroes, Green Arrow is crucified, Flash is permanently crippled, most heroes hide.
As years pass a legend grows that Batman is still fighting, but he never leaves witnesses or proof of his presence so no retaliation is taken on the human populace.
On thr 10th anniversary of alien rule the human planetary coordinator Lex Luthor stages an assassination attempt on the alien leader, it fails, nearly all remaining unpowered heroes are killed including Nightwing, Catwoman, & Guardian, no costumes were used.
10 years later the new coordinator Lana Lang approaches high ranking resistance leader James Olsen (right hand of General Lois Lane), and tells him she knows where Superman is hiding, and that like Lex she wants to end the alien rule.
They find Clark, hiding in the one factory that never, ever fails to meet its quota. Eventually the few heroes remaining alive gather together, Superman, Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan, Flash (still can't run), Lex Luthor's brain in Metallo's body, Batman (still highly pissed at everyone for giving up), and a teenaged boy the ran into who calls himself Superboy.
In the final battle, after Lana's betrayal, Wonder Woman dies, Flash dies, Superman dies, and Batman uses a suicide bomb to destroy the alien mothership.
Going back and reading some of the events from the Umbrella Academy just reminds me on how the Netflix series is better than the comic it's based on

In Legion of Super-Heroes, Element Lad (EL) finds Roxxas, the man who (with his associates) killed everyone on his home planet of Trom. Roxxas had returned to Trom to hide.
EL snapped and was going to execute Roxxas with a ray gun. He shot Roxxas but another Legionnaire (Chemical King) used his powers to weaken the weapon so it only fired a beam of ordinary light, saving Roxxas' life.
It turned out that the radiation on Trom, combined with his guilt, has driven Roxxas insane. Roxxas thought he was being haunted by the ghosts of the people he had murdered.
EL came to regard his actions as a disgrace to the memories of his people (despite being stopped he had still intended to commit murder). Due to their powers (transmutation), discipline was essential and EL had failed.
I honestly am tired of this who fade where superheroes, who are people we're striving to emulate, are no better than the villains they fight, who are now being written as humanized victims of circumstances

Reading about the world of 3 ... that is not a disturbing moment a superhero looses it, it is something to be expected.
I'm surprised you didn't include the time when Superman lost it when the Joker caused him to kill Lois Lane.
