Hi Jon, This a tough problem because your buyer does not appear to use English as their first language. Instead of using gif files for your labels how about using jpg format instead, it seems to work better. As for the tracking can you go to your post office and see if they can get you more info on the package?
Hi Jon and ty for the Toner and Drum...I try to get ahold of eBay just by selecting going to Help then Selling then Create A Listing then Chat with our automated assistant or connect with an agent, when that comes up type (Need a Real Person) after that it should come up (Have Us Call You) click on that and Wallah there you go. Hope this helps Jon.. I just did it so I know it works. Gary

it sounds like a scam, possibly unintentional some people really don't take the time to understand tech. i always wait mine out, tracking history shows it didn't make it to your local post then you should be in the clear. 34 bucks is kind of a big deal in some situations.
Hey Jon, I’ve seen “Exception Item Delay” on USPS tracking before when I was shipping to Puerto Rico, I asked the post office and they told me that it means there is some delay along the route. It could be weather, a closed post office, etc… in my case there was a weather delay with air mail. I did get this notice before the item was even showing accepted by the post office.
When someone prints a shipping label it automatically goes to 'shipped' so if he/she clicked print with no printer attached, ebay will assume they did and marks it as shipped.
I had similar delivered tracking messages the same day I dropped them at post office to ship. The postal person scanned them incorrectly having pushed the wrong button. Contract the post office for correction. Likely the scanning you’re seeing is from near the buyers location…not yours.
Had this happen before. Issue a 50% refund now out of duress since you don't have item, and check the boxes for: returned after opening item, item was used, and also missing parts/pieces as the deduction reason codes. If the buyer happens to dispute w/ ebay, the case should automatically be closed in your favor and ebay will cover the remaining refund out of their pocket, with seller protection and no impact to your metrics whatsoever. Additionally, you can get that feedback removed once the return is closed, it is in violation of feedback comments policy because the cust verbatim is directly about the outcome of a case. The estrogen public response to feedback was not necessary. It's time to move on with 50% refund now, end the decision fatigue, get elgible for seller protection and get the feedback removed once return is closed out. Just end your obligation now once and for all and get that trash out of your queue, not worth the time or potential impact to acct health.
Hi Jon. Sorry to hear of your frustrating issue. With EBay's return routine, I've found that I usually have no choice but to refund the buyer in order to protect our business. We have a case in Puerto Rico where he didn't receive the item and tracking shows "delayed" . If he doesn't get it within a few days, we need to refund and open an insurance claim if possible. EBay is messed up. I've been encountering problems with our listing for months where EBAY changes our listings to "accepts local pick up", or they completely change our best offer perimeters. You can't talk to anyone who is willing to help. Anyway, we know where you're coming from and hope you get this resolved. Let us know the outcome
Thank you. Have you tried to attempt a lost shipment search through USPS.com? This usually results in a phone call from someone at the delivery spot office in calling you about the missing package. It also seems to mysteriously get the package back on track. Worth a try.
@@FlippinAintEasy yes, haven't had any updates. We are doing well on Ebay right now, just disappointed that there are so many glitches and so little help. We appreciate these informative videos. Thanks
Jon, thank you for a very good video which can be used as an eBay teaching tool. I would like to respond to all of the issues that you presented. First I'm going to start with the label problem. I've had similar things happen to me in the past and I think I know what's going on. You did everything correctly on your end, but the buyer messed up. Either he does not know how to print the label that eBay provided or even less likely it's possible he has no printer but I'm guessing it's the first problem. So what happens is he contacted eBay customer service and then eBay emailed him a label that they generated. This exact same thing happened to me last year so I'm pretty confident that's what's going on here. Now what he did with the label is anybody's guess. Maybe he sent it to you and maybe he didn't. From what I'm reading the customer does not sound like he's playing with an entirely full deck so anything is possible here. The next topic I'm going to touch on is appealing a defect. Now it's much easier of course if you're able to call eBay concierge. I was lucky I was able to get through to them this afternoon and if you watch the video I just put up it will explain everything on that end. However you can easily appeal the defect online by clicking the help button and then clicking on "account" and then clicking on "appeal a defect". If you don't know how to get to that screen let me know and I will email you screenshots later. The only thing about this whole ordeal that confuses me is that you stated that the tracking number shows that the item has been delivered back to you. That is just plain weird. eBay for business is experiencing record volume inquiries because a lot of customer service agents are unavailable now as you probably know. One last question. Does the buyer have a history of leaving sellers negative and neutral feedback? You didn't mention that in the video but I'm wondering if he has. It seems weird that a buyer with only 26 transactions cannot print a simple label but sure knows how to neg a seller. Feel free to email me if you want to continue the discussion on this matter or you can just discuss it right here. All the best and rock on!
Thanks for your reply. Actually I’m the first and only seller he has left feedback for. Go figure. Just had another neg tonight saying the item did not arrive by the date eBay promised even though I shipped it out on time. People I tell ya.
@@FlippinAintEasy Guess what? Yesterday an impatient buyer contacted me to tell me they did not receive their item that ebay told them they would receive yesterday the 18th. I ignored the complainer and today they opened a case against me. No surprise there but 12 minutes later they had the audacity to *call* me at work. I refused to give them any information on the phone and told them all details of the transaction must be kept in the eBay contact system. 2 minutes later she emailed me again through eBay.

I had this exact same issue solved last week. The item got that weird "Acceptance Scan" immediately after the label was created. The buyer never actually sent it back. I got that message about refunding the buyer. I clicked the "Ask us to step in and help" button and escalated the case after explaining it never came back and they refunded both the buyer and me a few days later.
I learned a long time ago not to let ebay generate return shipping, hence buyer pays for return shipping. I've lost too much money because of it. I always handle return shipping for my buyers. As for contacting ebay, I'm at a loss and wish I could help you. The challenge maybe due to the recent updates and the volume of calls.
Had a similar return issue but it was buyer error and they returned straight away. Item got delayed by post. Got same automated msg from eBay saying item should be delivered and marked it that in the return, even tho tracking said it wasn’t and had a few days to refund the buyer. Used the Chat with us now - I always use that as they give you a copy of the chat transcript afterwards that u can use in the future. The rep said they would put the return on hold for 10 days - yay, all good right? Ah nope 4 days later at 12.45am they closed the case and moved it to the disputes section and changed reason for return as “INAD”. saying they were investigating and they’ll get back in 48hrs with their decision. Later that day the return arrived, couldn’t refund the buyer, had to chat again they said not to worry they’ll refund and I won’t get a defect…. Yea, I did a defect and 2 “chats” later and apologies n promises of it being removed within 48hrs didn’t happen - finally 9 days later it finally disappeared. Yea the returns process is definitely flawed
This could be part of the glitches occurring since the update. I have found around 10 of my listings have changed to " buyer dosen't accept returns" so far. There is no option to change it. I have done a few sell similar listings where the 30 day returns are embedded in the old listing. The new listing says no returns. I did a bulk edit and it accepted 30 day returns. Going back to listing it still says no returns. It appears to be in a couple of sub categories on ebay Motors. I noticed many other sellers with similar items are not accepting returns. Sounds like a glitch. This may be affecting other areas within the ebay return system. Last month I had a couple of buyers tell me there was no return label generated even though cs said it was sent.
The tracking on returns is definitely not working on eBay, I sent a return to a seller and the label printed out fine but it doesn’t record the return as being shipped back and looks like it never was printed and it didn’t upload on eBay that I sent the return but on Ebay’s end they did have all return information and tracking but you can’t see it but they somehow can. When I reached out to costumer service they said it was returned already and I should receive a full refund within a few days. Yeah it’s definitely glitchy.
Devolucion in Spanish translates to return or refund depending in the context of the sentence. Did the USPS website tracking information match the Ebay tracking information?
It amazes me how technically deficient some of these people are when it comes to getting labels returning items but they sure do know how to press the button to return
Is this the correct context for this word? Just never heard this word used in this context. Apparently, devolucion is the spanish word for return. I think this is what he was trying to say.
@@FlippinAintEasy Hi, well devolution would also mean 'to return', but probably would be used more in a legal or law context. Talking to Ebay or I should say having them contact you is like working through a maze. So go back through the same process you did before except your shooting for the automated assistant to pop up. When that happens type in agent.....sometimes you will see the option AGENT....click on that........then......THE ONLY WAY TO TALK TO A REP IS THROUGH THE HAVE US CALL YOU OPTION. Once you have succeeded in that it takes anywhere from 10 seconds to 30 seconds for them to call and by the way..... more than likely you will be talking to someone in the Philippines ....yay. Your not going to get a defect if the tracking shows you havent received it so dont sweat that. Let me know if you cant navigate to find the .....have us call you option and I will go on ebay and try to give you a better step by step.
I appreciate that. Actually I am quite versed in using the eBay website to request callbacks and the different ways in doing so. I even made a video last year on it. Every possible way to request any interaction with an agent has been down for me. Even if I try to say I am a buyer with a problem. Will try again tomorrow.
Jon, I know you said you don't care about the money. However, I would open a case with USPS so that it shows you reached out to them to find out what's going on. While they will most likely tell you it's still traveling and there are delays. This will at least maybe look good on your part when you go to dispute your defect. Of course screen shot everything and document your correspondence with USPS. I would suspect it's a glitch with eBay and hopefully you don't have to refund them or get a defect. But at the end of the day. I believe eBay will rectify the issue. I would also dispute that negative feedback and I would bet that would get removed as well. One thing I would do though when reaching out threw eBay for Business on Facebook is to always start the conversation off with: Item number, Order number, your name, your email and the zip code on your account. This will streamline your response because, they will ask for this before even helping you. Unless you already did that and just edited it out. Cheers to a speedy resolution in your favor.
I'm wondering if the future of Ebay is 1 out 4 items returned. Sounds extreme, but I'm starting to become a hardcore pessimist. Man, Flippin Ain't Easy these days!
Sounds like a return scam. Basically they either send something back to a different address to make it look like you received it to eBay. Or they attach an old tracking number which will make it look to eBay that they sent it back.
It sounds like a return scam but ebay doesn't seem to recognize this sort of scam. I've always been able to talk to a tech but it's hard to find where. Go under HELP and search for while. It's so convoluted I can't give exact instructions. Are all these messages in your ebay mailbox? I don't think you should follow the instructions if they seem to be contrary to usual ebay practices.
If it was me I would contact the post office file a claim and just refund. The fact that it shows delivered puts you in a bad situation with ebay. Its not worth the headache in my opinion.
Hah.. as top rated seller i have a postage compensation if buyer falsely claims that item is not as described. So... i did as they ask- report buyer. Then contact them 4 times by chat. 2 times by phone- 3 times i was promised that i will get 6 GBp credit as compenastion. Never happened :)) They lie that i will get a credit and there is no credit in 2 last invoices. Story continues from July. How should i contact them to get that postage compensation? :)))))) What magic words should i tell them to force sending it straight away?
I think ebay got tired of their call center agents being other people’s whipping post’s. Meaning it’s just people calling and yelling at them. So it’s gone and that really sucks. Call center agents in Philippines make about 8 bucks a day. So it’s not to save money. It doesn’t cost any to have them. So who knows. Oh ! As to your problem…..I have no idea. 😃Good luck getting 10k. I love the content. 👍
Coming from someone who worked 26 years of my life in a call center, there is never a reason to abuse a rep over the phone. You can get just as far by being firm and polite with what you are seeking. Chances are the rep will be more receptive.
Just curious if this is an international buyer who used a freight forwarder? Maybe the item has been returned to the freight forwarder but not to you. Check the address you shipped to.
Since youTubers started talking about problems occurring with the latest eBay algorithm updates I’ve notice that on some of my sales, the shipping statuses have not updated to “shipped” even though the USPS tracking site shows my packages as tracking and moving to my buyers. As for your specific issue, when your buyer gets a return label, do you get a tracking number associated with the return label so you can check with the USPS tracking site? If not, that’s another issue eBay should correct. All my buyers are notified of the tracking number associated with their purchases. And yes, eBay has been impossible to get a real, live to speak to. This platform definitely has its pluses but I for one am ramping up on my other platforms and plan to bow out of eBay soon. Their lack of assistance and the constant, sneaky ways they increase fees as seen once again withe this latest update just makes it not worth the headaches.
this might have been 3 weeks late for you to return this I might have the same pair and just replaced his damage ones with yours opened up a return basically got a free pair of headphones
ebay dont care if you have the item. after a set amount of time after the USPS scanned the return acceptedby them ebay automatically refunds the buyer. even if the tracking number says you dont have it, ebay dont care. they still refund the buyer. during the refund process there are 2 options to dispute it....both options start with the phrase "I have received the item but...." the simple act of disputing the return automatically makes you admit you have it (whether you do or not). you will get that dispute message on the 19th or whenever ebay says theyre stepping in. either way, youre the seller, youre gonna lose, ebay dont care about you. LOL
Go to seller help hit contact Ebay hit reason then say chat with Ebay or other sellers hit chat Ebay then type in real person then ask you for you number then they call you back

I did that just edited it all out.
In Spanish devolucion means return.
This may be why it was used in his English reply to me.
It just means return lol They're saying you aren't printing the label to complete the return.
Label was authorized through eBay. First buyer in the history of eBay to use devolution instead of the word return.
If it was me I would contact the post office file a claim and just refund. The fact that it shows delivered puts you in a bad situation with ebay. Its not worth the headache in my opinion.
Yet the tracking doesn't show as delivered. The post office would not help in this case.
@@FlippinAintEasy ebays system shows delivered. Refund move on. The amount of money doesn’t outweigh the problem
Devolution is just an incorrect translation of the spanish word “devolución”, which means “return”.
Devolution means “continuity of government “ ……
Hah.. as top rated seller i have a postage compensation if buyer falsely claims that item is not as described. So... i did as they ask- report buyer.
Devolution is to delegate authority to a subordinate
Hey hoss, ya got any Canon PG243 cartridges? Sorry your dealing w return nightmares, definitely the most stressful aspect of e commerce
None of that model unfortunately.
Just curious if this is an international buyer who used a freight forwarder? Maybe the item has been returned to the freight forwarder but not to you. Check the address you shipped to.
It’s not one of those freight forwarders (like in Doral, FL) where the buyer has an identifier. This was simply an ordinary buyer.
Since youTubers started talking about problems occurring with the latest eBay algorithm updates I’ve notice that on some of my sales, the shipping statuses have not updated to “shipped” even though the USPS tracking site shows my packages as tracking and moving to my buyers.
As for your specific issue, when your buyer gets a return label, do you get a tracking number associated with the return label so you can check with the USPS
tracking site? If not, that’s another issue eBay should correct. All my buyers are notified of the tracking number associated with their purchases.
And yes, eBay has been impossible to get a real, live to speak to. This platform definitely has its pluses but I for one am ramping up on my other platforms and plan to bow out of eBay soon. Their lack of assistance and the constant, sneaky ways they increase fees as seen once again withe this latest update just makes it not worth the headaches.
I can find out the tracking number as it’s part of the return case but eBay doesn’t send that info to the seller. Shows the same info on USPS.com.
My last return i got all that information and i have preset for ebay to call me through the web. So when i have issues.. i get them within minutes
I think they are incorrectly typing, devolution = resolution.
DEvolution Means Return
I think he meant Resolution
Quite possible.
this might have been 3 weeks late for you to return this I might have the same pair and just replaced his damage ones with yours opened up a return basically got a free pair of headphones
maybe he meant to type the word resolution instead of devolution
ebay dont care if you have the item. after a set amount of time after the USPS scanned the return acceptedby them ebay automatically refunds the buyer. even if the tracking number says you dont have it, ebay dont care. they still refund the buyer. during the refund process there are 2 options to dispute it....both options start with the phrase "I have received the item but...." the simple act of disputing the return automatically makes you admit you have it (whether you do or not). you will get that dispute message on the 19th or whenever ebay says theyre stepping in. either way, youre the seller, youre gonna lose, ebay dont care about you. LOL
I agree with that sentiment.
Go to seller help hit contact Ebay hit reason then say chat with Ebay or other sellers hit chat Ebay then type in real person then ask you for you number then they call you back
Don’t sell on eBay that’s what to do lol
Like papa Shango said aka the godfather Pimpin aint easy
Hit the like button 👍
I have a solution. Do you have an email address?
It’s been handled finally. Will be telling you guys in my next video. Everything worked out well.
