I think you have been very lucky people or I and others have been very unlucky. I am glad to read that you are happy and healthy and I so wish I could related to that and feel it. By nature I was a happy child or, so I thought. My alcoholic dad would batter me and my mum and he did some very sadistic things to our pets too. My memories of being battered go back to as early as four or five years old. Growing up witnessing abuse and being abuse physically and emotionally was taking its toll on me. I've been plagued with health issues and I'm sure it's the trauma so deeply embedded in my body that's caused it. Still, I push on! Take care and blessings and long may your good health last.

Hi from the Netherlands here! The mission of the two of you is indeed similar. Thank you for this conversation, I understand this 'language' (am already many years Anita fan :), but didn't know Gábor Mate). I want to add something that I recognised so strongly, about the relation between stress diseases and old (not recognised) trauma's. I had to deal with anxiety about not recognising or wanting to feel old trauma's in several periods and especially this last year of my life (I am 60 years now), I felt deeply depressed. What helped me is PRI Past Reality Integration, a method by a Dutch psychologist Ingeborg Bosch. She wrote several books about it. Her insights are similar to yours. I feel so excited about it! Just wanted to share this with you. Love to all of you.

Infinite gratitude for your video dear Anita and Doctor Gabor. I read the book in French "when the body says no" it was really a revelation. I am impatiently awaiting the translation of the book of which you speak. I express the wish that our societal system can evolve towards more awareness. We are all traumatized by something and the return to our soul will allow us to be light bearers like you both are, thank you very much 🙏🏼🙏🏼. Sorry for my translated English.

This is truly truly amazing. The world we live in is moving more and more towards a new normal in so many different ways, a "normal" that is completely adverse to who we truly are and this internal rivalry is the reason for all sorts of strive. We need more of this in a lot of platforms. I always joke, the robots are not coming to take over, we are already them and are destroying our own selves. Blessings to both of you for your service to humanity. Thank you

I have to say No. I’m 56. My mother’s care takes most of my time. I take care of everyone else, but have no immediate person to take care of me. All of this just hit me this week as she was hospitalized again. I know things need to change and that I need to change now. This is incredible validation for what I’ve been feeling ❤ thank you both!

Tinker, it's hard when you see your loved ones struggling, Ii also looked after my mother and it was hard and really stirs up your emotions,
In Australia, care's are well supported real well.
The hard part for me was my mum didn't want anyone else around her I felt obligated to obey.
If I had my way again I would of accepted the offer of support as doing it alone did have ramifications.
Mum died at the age of 96 .(I know 96)
Your right your all lone and it really does take a toll on us
You take care of yourself, reach out where you .

Dear Anita, I would like to thank you very much for the great interview. Everything you say is right. I was at my mother's today and we talked about why society is getting sicker and sicker despite the oh so great medical progress, the many preventive examinations, etc.. Then I saw your interview a few hours later. It confirms exactly what I think and I am grateful that you are talking about it. In addition, people / patients in Germany are becoming more and more commodities. Babies are brought earlier, because it brings more money, patients in hospitals are ventilated longer than necessary because it brings money. About it came even recently a report on television whether one is at all still safe in the hospital? As an empath, this can be really scary.

Thank you Anita for this wonderful interview.! It appears as though it was a coincidence (but I know in life there are no coincidences), for we are always attracting what comes to us - but I was introduced to Dr. Gabor Mate, when I came across another interview with him yesterday. And this morning, when I went on my computer, the first thing that pops up is your photo with him...which lead me to this another great interview. I just love how life can support us on our journey. I am passionate in studying and teaching how we can foster more joy in our lives, simply by understanding our emotions...and I am equally appreciative of his work. I love connecting science and spirituality, and his work is truly a blessing and will awaken many to understanding our power within. Thank you both for all you contribute in service to others...I hope to shine my light of love exponentially as you do. Thank you , thank you, thank you!!! Many blessings you both on your amazing journeys of life. XO

This is the first time that I've heard anyone addressing the problem that we can feel at fault (just as we faulted the 'Other') the instant we start to entertain the idea that we may have had, or might have, some molecule of choice in our life. Immediate, painful, self-accusation. It is very hard; thank you Gabor Maté and Anita Moorjani for bringing gentle, compassionate light to this.

I think that if we read what Jesus, the master, said: " it doesn't make you ill what it enters your mouth but what comes from your mouth that originated in your heart" . Well, I am expressing what Jesus said in my own words but the meaning core is that the thinking and the words that you use that come from your heart because of a trauma or a cultural situation, like Anita explained to us, can cause major changes in our body that at the end become diseases. Thank you Anita and the doctor for this wonderful video.

The allopathic medical system is not about health & healing, it is about disease maintenance.. because that is where the profits are. And of course, this whole backwards system would not be possible without the widespread victim mentality, which essentially comes back to disempowerment. When you are empowered, you care for yourself and take responsibility. I've learnt a lot from Gabor over the years and love his honesty, look forward to reading his new book.

    • @TwoMarshmallows1
      @TwoMarshmallows1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

It's not really a mystery. Women's health isn't taken seriously by the medical community. Any symptoms are ignored and mocked from the time they're children. They're assumed to be lying, lazy or crazy, even by female doctors. In fact, all doctors, regardless of gender, know very little about women's health and aren't interested in learning. The 'normal' for tests and results are based on men. Medications are often not even tested on women. That means small issues go untreated and are allowed to develop into serious conditions, even leading to death. Add on to that the general trauma of misogyny and exhaustion due to being expected to do everything, and you've got a lot of sick women. (Note: I am not saying every woman everywhere has this issue, or that there's nothing we can do about it.)

    such an important insight!
if you're always response-able, you are able to respond! this is better than not being response-able, or having only *previously* had the ability to respond. the continued ability to respond is a gift.
the economic parallel is also a great insight: just as everyone is trained to be an employee/dependent of a paternalistic/abusive employer (for the purpose of material/financial livelihood), they also do not see themselves as capable of bodily/medical self-reliance/independence.
i only differ in that i think that genes are effects - see the talks of s lanka, german biologist - and not immutable; genes are expressions of the very types of things discussed here, not causes as such.

I agree with the statics but not the causes. Gabor is extrapolating much on the statistics based on his own world view/bias.
However, instead of focusing on the why, the focus should be on the how to fix. There are PLENTY of things people can do now a days (meditation, emotional awareness, mind body connection, etc.) The key here is to get the western medical establishment to not just focus on the disease/body but the person as a whole. This includes the awareness of the mind body connection, the effects of stress and prolonged (emotional) stress to illness as well as what Gabor is really on point on and that is trauma. Like Gabor said, trauma can be healed!

Excuse me Dr. Mate', it's not a mystery why woman are so high prone . It's about using your body. Woman don't use the beautiful body devices. An example so important is breastfeeding. It's magic. If you don't use it , what happens. Just like a car, if you don't use it you got a higher percentage that the car is not going to function. We are suppressed of the powerful usage of our bodies. This is instinct frustration. Only methods passed through the mother to daughter line, of surviving this instinct frustration makes a bit of difference.
