I’ve been watching cricket since 1992 and it is hands down the greatest ODI innings I’ve ever seen considering the situation of the team before the knock and the sheer physical toll it took on the batsman. Also, I think Maxwell is the only player to have scored 200 chasing. This innings was all about brute mind power. Only Maxwell could’ve played this way. I think his golfing prowess helped Maxwell in this situation when his lower body was all frozen up.

I think many here underrate the difficulty of hitting a ball hard when not moving your feet. For Maxwell to score so heavily and with such power for such an extended period of time was in itself amazing and unprecedented. He won the game injured and at no. 6. Greatest innings ever.
It wasn’t the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog that mattered here. Maxwell’s profound mental strength was awe inspiring… and against high odds…. Injury… fatigue… & temperature. Brilliant!
Afghanistan supporters were shown during early successes while Kanga supporters were somewhat quiet... The situation only reversed. But there are also a lot of people who just cheered everything..
It is without a doubt greatest innings of all time, coming down when so many wickets were down and hitting those shots by keeping captain pat on the other side in the intense pressure, not giving up even when the cramps came and in that heat which is unbearable and hitting that last six to complete his 200 runs and make his team win like seriously Maxwell is the greatest of all time 🐐 Congratulations Australia 🎉 Maxwell is the hero, Maxwell is the moment, Maxwell is magical 🔥👑 I'm stuck in that moment, I mean what can I say words may not be enough to describe this innings.
Well Kapil Dev’s 175 against Zimbabwe in 1983 World Cup had a similar scenario but if they lost they would have been knocked out while Zimbabwe in 1983 was very strong.
Dont compare Maxwell innings with legends like Kapil/Richard. Maxwell got runs only with small teams like Netherlands & Afghanistan poor bowlers. And Cricketer need legs to play but if you have dumb bowlers like AFG/Netherlands batsmen dont need legs because dumb bowlers bowl on leg side every time without much variations. Maxwell has poor ratings playing with big teams like India/Pakistan/NZ/England etc.
Not at all this is just recency biased. You can argue is this the best innings without the legs after being dropped twice ? Definitely. The Sachin's innings Jarrod mentioned was against a formidable South Africa (minus Steyn I think) with a f**ing 30-35 over old ball and NO DROPPED CATCHES. Almost all other 200s have 1 or 2 dropped catches with most of them being scored when the law was only 4 players allowed outside 30 yard for 10-40 overs😱. Now it is only 40-50. Sachin did that with 5 players outside the 30 yard for 10-50 overs.Technically this is the best 200. Innings and situation wise Kapil and Kevin O'Brien 100s rate more higher.
@@sanathkumar6526 AFG won most of their matches with batting and they chased well againt big teams and their bowling is very weak. In last 4 matches Mumbai ground chasers lost 17 wickets in first 10overs of powerplay because an avg bowlers can take wickets in night and with new ball and if ball gets old bad teams/bowlers cant take wickets and AFG bad team in bowling and their drop catches cost the match and they wasted alsmost 4-5 chances of maxwell 201*. If any big team instead of AFG , Maxwell would have gone long ago around score 30 and 40
As an Indian even I’d agree this innings surpasses every other great knock ever played by any batsman. The best innings in ODI history by a long margin. This has been a banger of a tournament 🤌🏽🔥
I would still rank Kapil Dev's 175(138) in 1983 against zimbabwe the best innings at a crucial stage in the World Cup by an batter. But I understand why some might rank Maxwell's better and won't argue.
I think he wanted to convey that Maxwell's innings yesterday transcended the boundaries of nationality and must get an applause from each and ever fan of cricket regardless of which team he or she supports and not just Australians.@@iceman1125
@@iceman1125we are proud of our identity.. when the world pushes your nose in the ground for centuries.. it's quite natural for some push back... what say?
Glen Maxwell the brave Australian all rounder shown the cricket world how to score an unbeaten double century and make your country win amidst groin injury. This is a rare occassion where a star batsman scores a double century in a ODI match while chasing a target. When Maxwell collapsed for a breif moment on his personal score 137 with a serious leg injury for a moment it seemed that he would be retired hurt.Yet it was very courageous of Maxwell to come back to the batting crease on time and then steal the match away from Afghanistan cricket team with a 3 wickets win. With a score board of 90 runs for 7 wickets down the Pathan brigade (Afghanistan Cricket Team) were in complete position to win the match while Australia was set a target of 291.Hard luck team Afghanistan as they blew up the match with poor bowling and couple of dropped catches .
This innings can be defined as a one show. One of the greatesst innings I ever seen. It's not easy to win when you are at 91 for 7 wickets down and to to get a double while chasing and pain from muscle cramps.
to be fair to Cummins his score doesn't reflect his potential in the innings as unless he scored a boundary Maxwell wasn't "running" so I think he did what was required keep the ball out at his end and let Maxwell attempt the miracle from the other end!
Definitely the best knock i have ever seen, even Sachin himself agrees. Maxi was in so much pain, yet his mindset was to go and win. Beautiful game it was. Love❤ from India.
This inning will change the context of playing. There is so called definition of batting that elucidate by experts. We always heard that stance is important, leg movement is vital to play the ball. They are vital no doubt, but "words deceive mind" and that make scattered concentration on whole rather that single focus on ball/situation, that's what Max got in the situation and he had only one thing to focus on. I got it now how Bradman was so great , cause there was no beautiful words were there to explain, no legend to interpret the technique, so he becomes the legend.
Afg bowling started to panic cos Maxi caused a lot of that panic. He played unbelievable shots to all parts of ground with what was eventually no footwork. I loved that second last boundary he sort of cut/backfoot drive (actually not quite sure how to describe it) through mid off. The gaps he was finding to hit fours. Reverse sweeps. Closing the face of the bat and hitting across the line which would see many less talented players get dismissed - yet he used this tool to dissect the field or go over it. It was brilliant, courageous and awe inspiring batting that had Afg caught like a deer in the headlights. Well done Maxi and thank you for the privilege.
Afghanistan lost the plot entirely after maxwell was dropped twice. The bowlers did not go for the kill and were more content with seeing off their overs. And the field setting and bowler rotation was abysmal. Added to that the bowlers just kept bowling to his hitting zone without any variations whatsoever and let him rotate strike on one leg. Afghanistan snatched defeat from the jaws of victory
he was only dropped once tho?? and your criticism about their bowling changes is uncalled for , given maxwell himself ironically would've been dismissed by a spinner 1) if mujeeb had held on to his catch and 2) if the on field lbw decision against him hadn't been overturned , not to mention the fact that cummins is generally a terrible player of spin and looked all at sea against them for the most part of his knock yesterday...and how on earth do you even set a field against someone like maxi who can access every part of the ground?
absolutely no question. have watched odis since their inception and am a cricket tragic. I have never seen better. My fav game is steve waughs perfect day (not an odi) but as far as raw talent and guts go- Maxy
I think the pressure of the chase along with the context of the situation puts this knock over the top. Sure, others faced better bowling attacks or made higher scores, but coming in at below 100 runs, chasing nearly 300, with only the tail for company for the majority of his innings, and then even with physical issues, having bowled 10 overs and fielded earlier that day, this perfect storm would have put insane pressure to score that would have folded any other batter. Maxwell, bravo!
So glad that I didn't switch the telly off when an Afghan win seemed like a foregone conclusion. What an inning especially considering Maxwell had to fight through what appeared like severe back issues and whole body cramps, along with everything else. It was just unreal.
Afghanistan outplayed Australia so well that it took the best innings of all time for them to lose. Well done Afghanistan and Glenn you are a batting god 🫡
@@Sothpawmanseriously? You’re not going to praise a team which hardly existed a decade or so ago and are now competing and winning against top international sides? Come on, credit where credit is due. I actually believe Afghanistan bottled this match more than Australia (Maxwell) won it.
What a great inning from Maxwell, reminded me of my grandfather when he used to talk about Kapil Dev when he came out when India was at 9/4 and batted 175 not out on 138 balls taking india to 266/8 against Zimbabwe in 1983 world cup. Even bowled a full spell taking a wicket with the economy below 3 and took 2 catches as well and was instrumental in India's win and and progression in the tournament. After watching this knock could imagine his emotions then and I might narrate this along with the Kapil dev'sinnings to generations to come.
they tried but both of bowlers were medium pacers bw 125 to 132...thats why couldn't do much but yeah they could have bowl wide outside off from around the wicket it could have forced maxwell to move his legs
First i supported for Afghanistan win but after watching Maxwell innings changed my mind and automatically diverted to Australia win. Super maxwell sir your innings is inspirable for most of the people. Hard work never fails.
It is an upgrade over Kapil Dev’s innings and has made a significant dent on his team’s mindset going into the semis just like how Kapil did it for the Indian team. It’s a great innings something grandparents will tell their grandchildren when they introduce them to cricket …. And that’s for me is a great thing
It’s definitely the best double century in my books. The others were all in meaningless matches. I was stunned watching this live.. watched it at the gym.. everybody just stopped and watched lol.
All credit to Maxwell. Afg also were lost like kids in a topless bar after taking those 7 wickets. captain of Afghanistan looked so casual body language. They had no gameplan when still 100 runs were remaining and maxwell was struggling.
Steve Waugh hit 120 to save his team from crashing out of the 1999 WC against South Africa who were much stronger. That was a pressure match with a do-or-die situation.
viv Richards 189* most of the runs in that knock came after 9 wickets fell. He had to literally keep the strike away from holding for most part of that innings, phenomenal knock often forgotten. in a 112-run partnership with holding Viv scores 100 runs and gives holding strike for only 25 balls. It comes against a very strong English bowling line up. Not a single batsman manages to get to double digit in Windies. Holding is probably second highest at 12 runs. Easily the greatest ODI knock hands down.
With all due respect you need to consider the opposition and the situation. This was not the WC final and the opposition was Afghanistan (all due respect to Afghanistan). OZ, even if they lost this game, would still make the semis. The pressure wasn't really there. Maxwell swung for the hills and it came off. I still feel Stokes's 84* is the greatest ODI innings ever as it won England the WC.
This is best compared to all previous one considering the Maxwell inability to move feet and 7 wickets down to chase game. I have never seen such inning by anyone in ODI cricket. Ya in t20 I would still go with Kohli's 2022 world cup inning. But for ODI this is the best inning for me.
It was beautiful. It's gotta be the best ever when you consider the circumstances: 1) The probability of Australia winning was zero, 2) if australia had've lost they would've been eliminated from the semi's, 3) He did it on one leg, 4) He bowled 10 overs and fielded well, 5) Double century from the 6th position. Just the unlikelihood alone is amazing, let alone the actual quality of the hits. The only thing i will say, is that there was probably not as much pressure as with other great knocks. The probability of winning was so low that the expectations on Maxwell weren't that high. Pressure was off and he was free to give it his best crack. But still, even thinking about attempting this miracle was bold, let alone actually achieving it. This will go down in cricket folklore
Given the situation and magnitude of impossibility, Maxwell's yesterday innings of 201* has surpassed in greatness kapil dev's innings. This 201* with maxwell cramping after 140 and unable to play using any footwork and yet scoring last 60 runs for fun only by sheer power of his hands makes this the greatest innings ever.
But one has to also remember if any player could play that type of ining it would be maxwell he has been hitting these type of shots before also.. it's not like vk suddenly become ABD to get boundaries
1.it doesnt youre forgetting india was down 17-5 , 2. india was not a cricketing giant but an underdog 3. game favoured bowlers a lot, and game was more dangerous with less safety. 4. 300 these days is so common , batting is so much easier compared to that time, i dont think any team reached that total by that time 5. THE IMPACT. that inning and worldcup turned cricket upside down in India .
Only Viv Richards' 189 could even begin to compare to this innings from Maxwell. Sticking to other great Australian innings, there was Faulkner against England (2014?), Gilchrist in the 2007 WC, Ponting in the 2003 WC, Steve Waugh in the 1999 WC, Bevan's rescue mission against the WIndies in the mid-90s, as well as Dean Jones against NZ in Perth (late 80s?). But Maxwell eclipsed all of these with a Boy's Own/Ripping Yarns-type epic innings that you couldn't believe could happen, but did.
One thing young people need to consider is this, 30-40 years ago the 50 over game wasn't as in favor of the batsmen as it is now, back then bowlers could get away with bowling down leg-side, they could bowl more bouncers, the boundaries were bigger, the bats weren't as powerful and the biggest difference is back then there were more world class bowlers than there is now. So for me, someone like Viv Richards making 189 not out against England in 1984 is a greater achievement than someone making 201 not out against Afghanistan in 2023.
@@Jose......... Thank you Sir, what i find strange is this, i bet most of the people who are saying Maxwell's innings is the greatest of all time are probably too young to have seen knocks by Viv Richards and Kapil Dev, and if they didn't see them how can they judge?
I think we all need sometime to pass before we give it that status, but personally? Yes. Without a doubt. Most of my reasoning you've already touched on. However, what takes this to legendary/folklore-level is the context: this WC has been dreadfully boring - I can only see so many 300 plus batting first scores before I mentally check out, and I have. Part of it I think is because I am a 90s ODI kid, and the format was at its zenith during that era - the current ODI format is almost unrecognizable to me. Yesterday was almost a great 90s ODI - high 200s to chase, a batter who carried his bat through (at less than a 100 strike rate no less), the balance between bat and ball being almost equitable. I say 'almost' because Maxi batted like a dude who was from the 2020s batting in a 90s ODI - it's the future and the past colliding in one game, and Maxi caused that collision. I also enjoyed the juxtaposition of two batters in a partnership operating in two different mental states - Patty Cummins deadbatting on one end was the perfect counterpoint to the Maxwell chaos on the other end. There's a lot of bittersweet feelings associated with this WC for me; it feels like the ODI format is dying in front of our eyes, but for a brief moment yesterday Maxwell ressurected the format, made me feel things I haven't in a long time watching ODI cricket. And it's for that reason why I sent manic texts to my cricket friends claiming that Maxwell was playing my _favourite_ ODI innings of all time. Today, hours later and in the cold reality of another day, I don't see any reason to change that opinion.
Innings chasing will always be greater than scoring first .. from 91-7 to 292-7 and scoring 180 .. This is the Great ODI Inning of all time .. This is stuff of fiction .. Things scriptwriters write to make their sports based movie nerve wracking
We take pride to say that we lived in the same era as the world’s GOATs in sports. One day it’s gonna be wonderful to mention that we witnessed the greatest inning of cricket history & we lived in the same era as Maxwell.
I had been watching cricket for nearly 30yrs but had never seen something like that..... Man it was a combination of cricket and a super hero movie..... Maxwell at maximum
Did any of those other great innings from those players have injuries thst prevented them from running or moving their feet? I think its the greatest innings because they were firstly chasing, they were rated no chance at all once Stoinus got out and all the odds were against him, specially once he couldn't run anymore or move his feet. I thought I saw everything from Maxi when he got 100 off 44 balls, but this was a next level innings from him.
Great analysis! I say this as an Indian who hates Aussie sledging and occasional cheating - this is the best of the four. 201 out of 292, no support except a non-batting tailender, almost out 3 times, then massive cramps which change him from a human being into a batting machine. I don't know how this innings is not the talk of the town. It should be for a good 6 months. This is the gold standard now. This is the movie "300" in cricket. This is one of the great battles of history where a few dozen men defeat an army. I still hate Aussie sledging and bodyline bowling, btw.
I went to bed at 7 down thinking it was over. I had to read the news headline about 4 times in the morning as I was highly confused. The innings defies logic

Great video! Probably worth acknowledging that Belinda Clark (229* in the 1997 WC) was the first Aussie to an ODI double century and held the record for must runs in an ODI by ANY player for 17 years (until Rohit Sharma in 2014). Edit: For the record, I do think its the best ODI innings with injury drama, conditions and his first innings efforts
I cant even imagine how poor guy Mujib going through, his heart must be broken in pieces with every single run maxxi scored. Afg deserved to win this one. But the maxwell Strom demolished them.
I think this is probably amongst the 2 greatest innings in the history of ODI world cups... but Kapil's 175 knock to me is equally special if not has more importance in terms of the opponent and the impact of the innings had on the rise of Indian cricket. Maxwell's 202 though however incredible and physically challenging was against a lesser opponent which is only now finding its self belief. I really like and enjoy your analysis, thought I'd share a point you might consider. Thanks!
please don't say Afghanistan is a lesser opponent because they also beat England. If Afghan fielders did not miss two catches this win of Australia will not happen. but teams sometimes stuff up like what happened to South Africa against India. though India is pretty good I was surprised SA would crash that much when they also have good batsmen. when I saw that Aussies had only 49 runs with 4 wickets, in my heart they will lose the game. however, that night belongs to Maxwell and the Australian team. it was truly a miracle Maxwell was able to make boundaries when needed. oh yeah Ben Stokes did help England won against Australia too but he did not make 2 centuries and he was physically strong compared to Maxwell's physical condition that night against Afghanistan.
theres big difference between batting conditions in 1983 vs now. 300 total is so common now while i dont think teams were reaching that total in 1983, bowlers were ruthless and india was underdog while aus is cricketing giant if not the biggest cricketing country in the world@@Blue-ik8ij
By far the greatest knock ever. Scored so much quicker than Dev and Richards and scored 90 more runs than O'Brien. The WC is the single most important event in white ball cricket and no other score of even 170 has come against an opposition of the quality of Afghanistan. I honestly don't think it's possible to even comprehend an innings better than what we have just seen. Maxwell didn't have the luxury of batting first with a bowling attack that should demolish the opposition like Dev and Viv, nor did he have the freedom of being a massive underdog with nothing to lose. He went out there in a game where Australia should've been the shortest of favourites yet halfway through their batting innings had a 0.00% chance of winning. If Australia lost that game there is every chance they could lose in a similar fashion to Bangladesh and fly home early. Instead, he has single-handedly carried 25 million people to a WC semi and I think when it is all said and done WC trophy number 6 and if I'm right it will be all thanks to our number 6
I think people generally underrate Maxwell’s smarts in how he goes about his shot selection. Him reversing after slogging on leg makes bowlers confused on setting fields.
It was not a 7th wicket partnership Jarrod, it was the 8th wicket. And it was the biggest 8th wicket partnership in ODI history. Love your videos mate.
I think its the best world cup batting ever but u can't forget Herchelle Gibbs 170 odd chasing 434 which at the time meant Australia were the record holders for the highest score ever in an odi and only kept that record for 4 hours before South Africa broke that record, Just breaking that record in that short amount of time must have been a record too and against Australia with the series tied 2-2 with this being the decider. This was in 2006 so no 360 degree batting

@@srinivass1295Afghanistan isn't a bad team what are you yapping about 😂
@@sanathkumar6526 AFG won most of their matches with batting and they chased well againt big teams and their bowling is very weak.
This has been a banger of a tournament 🤌🏽🔥
if you were not an indian the statement wouldnt be true or as an indian it would be hard for you to agree otherwise?
I would still rank Kapil Dev's 175(138) in 1983 against zimbabwe the best innings at a crucial stage in the World Cup by an batter. But I understand why some might rank Maxwell's better and won't argue.
I think he wanted to convey that Maxwell's innings yesterday transcended the boundaries of nationality and must get an applause from each and ever fan of cricket regardless of which team he or she supports and not just Australians.@@iceman1125
Finally an Indian that doesn't mention Kohli or Tendulker in every single video and comment on youtube.
His mental toughness is beyond the mortal realms - Maxwell is the God of fortitude.
It's the best odi innings I've seen ever in my life
Best white ball innings of all Time
That batting was unbelievable
Never seen anything like this
Afghanistan lost the plot entirely after maxwell was dropped twice.
That wasn't a drop because he never got to the ball properly
absolutely no question. have watched odis since their inception and am a cricket tragic.
Afghanistan had ridiculously more favorable pitch conditions after winning the toss. Calm down mate.
I think Australia wins that one.
Certainly the greatest ODI innings in a world cup tournament.
Maxwell's innings was GOAT. But I was surprised to see that they didn't bowl any bouncers to Maxy after he was injured.
No yorkers too
@@valt5751 they tried a few yorkers. Maxwell hit a few on the fine leg region.
they tried but both of bowlers were medium pacers bw 125 to 132...thats why couldn't do much
but yeah they could have bowl wide outside off from around the wicket it could have forced maxwell to move his legs
@@manurazgoit yes they should have tried to bowl in a way where he had to move his feet to reach the ball which they didnt.
The most funny thing is they even cant a bowl that forces him to come in frontfoot😂.....
And that’s for me is a great thing
but you're fprgetting game faboured bowlers more at that time , also india was an underdog not a giant like australia
@@PrinceLobo-es8kland you are forgetting that it's not a chase and not an knockout game. This is a knockout game for afg.
Without any shadow of a doubt it was the greatest greatest innings ever what a freak
It wasn't the best, because of the amount of luck involved, but without doubt the most remarkable, unusual and unrepeatable.
the luck is what makes it better not detracts from it.
"This has been the best ODI knock I’ve seen in my life." Tendulkar
@@myth2005 Tendulkar is a very good judge of cricket
easily one of the best innings of all time; and arguably, the best.
If it wasn’t the best knock ever, it’s gotta be up there. How can it realistically not be?
Again kimber makes these arguments so convincingly that you can’t help but admire how deep his understanding of the game is
It’s definitely the best double century in my books.
They had no gameplan when still 100 runs were remaining and maxwell was struggling.
i have never seen a Player who is was on the verge of being retired hurt not able to walk not able to move their feet and still hit like Maxwell did
What makes it even more special is maxwell’s humility and smiling face. As far as I know, he is not one of the bullies etc
Undoubtedly the best ever seen in cricket, the entire cricket world should salute this cricketer called Maxwell...
"This has been the best ODI knock I’ve seen in my life." Tendulkar
Very fortunate to witnessed such heavenly inning 201*
I've been watching Cricket for 48 years and I've never seen an Innings like it.
Good opinion. Justified. De Silva's 1996 final and Stokes 2019 are sitting at the top
THIS WAS BONKERS.!!!!! once again Jdog, elite. loved the cheerleader for patrick. reckon he's never heard that before.
Must include Kapil Dev's 175 against Zimbabwe in 1983. He was called when 5 wickets were down.
I think six.
He did!
No came when India was 9 for 4 wickets
This is best compared to all previous one considering the Maxwell inability to move feet and 7 wickets down to chase game. I have never seen such inning by anyone in ODI cricket. Ya in t20 I would still go with Kohli's 2022 world cup inning. But for ODI this is the best inning for me.
He ruled over cricket history, unbelieveable and unbreakable victorious maxi the legend.
Wouldn’t have been eliminated, if they beat Bangladesh next (quite doable), they’d still be home
1.it doesnt youre forgetting india was down 17-5 ,
2. india was not a cricketing giant but an underdog
3. game favoured bowlers a lot, and game was more dangerous with less safety.
4. 300 these days is so common , batting is so much easier compared to that time, i dont think any team reached that total by that time
5. THE IMPACT. that inning and worldcup turned cricket upside down in India .
Absolutely 💯 None can equal his heroism
A torso and two arms scored a double century, what an innings.
So there was no mental application???
@@flamingfrancis No brain, just hit ball. Ooga booga.
This was one of the best performance in the history of sport, any sport, this is unreal.this guy was in the zone.i will never forget it.
Fair enough
All the things you mentioned are cancelled out with maxi being injured. And hitting 201* from no. 6 position in chasing.
You make a good point.
@@Fastandslow715 It doesn't cancel out anything, shit bowlers, small ground, big deal, facts are facts, and believe it or not, i'm an Aussie.
@@Jose......... Thank you Sir, what i find strange is this, i bet most of the people who are saying Maxwell's innings is the greatest of all time are probably too young to have seen knocks by Viv Richards and Kapil Dev, and if they didn't see them how can they judge?
Glenn Maxwell deserves all the luck and the after celebration he got. Fantastic innings !
You have a wonderful writing talent.
Well why do you think odi cricket is dying sir?
Just curious to know, no pun intended

Very well written and articulated my feelings exactly.
This is a superhuman innings. Afghans panicked and Maxwell read it. But take nothing away from the sheer brilliance of the innings.
This is the treasure of an innings
Bro how do you leave out Andrew Symonds 143* v Pak, one of the greatest WC innings ever
Most cricket fans don't even dare to dream of doing this in their wildest day dreams and Maxwell just did it.
I have been travelling there for 15 years. love Cambodia thank you for showing me places l haven't seen before. Cheers
For me this is the greatest innings of all time!
Best ever innings was played by Steve Waugh during 99 world cup super 6 match.
This was against South Africa.
Mate, I came across your site by accident, just having a geezer on youtube, while having a beer at home after work, when I saw you, I actually thought, who is this guy? he's got one of those hats on that you buy at the comedy shop, with the hair stuck to the hat on the sides, then, I realised, that was real and you were very real with your stats and in depth knowledge of the game of cricket, man, you know your stuff and that was a fabulous video, you really do your study, totally enjoyed this and I will subscribe, so I don't miss anymore and look back on some of your earlier work. By the way, you should actually make some of those hats and put them out there, you might make a fortune, well done mate, really enjoyed
AFG lost their fkin minds, headstrong attitude. Max played them brilliantly
CWC 2023 is the best World Cup. We saw everything in this WC
Maxi is just a freak. Superman would have given him the nod with this effort 😆🇦🇺
I cant even imagine how poor guy Mujib going through, his heart must be broken in pieces with every single run maxxi scored.
Afg deserved to win this one.
But the maxwell Strom demolished them.
Sans the fact that Maxwell did amazing, my question for you is why Afghanistan did NOT ball a single short ball at maxwell past his 50 and injury?
There's a big difference batting first and second. Plus Maxwell was barely able to move.
Maxwell was chasing the target, Dev was setting the target, HUGE difference
theres big difference between batting conditions in 1983 vs now. 300 total is so common now while i dont think teams were reaching that total in 1983, bowlers were ruthless and india was underdog while aus is cricketing giant if not the biggest cricketing country in the world@@Blue-ik8ij
Have to rate Kapil's innings up there too. Opposition matters, more than setting or chasing does.
Maxwell is the Messi of cricket
Never seen anything like it. History.
Great video..
Aopreciate the work and statistics you have analysed to present this video !
Thank alot !
Yes Given the infinite factors and conditions going against Australia it was a goat inning ever in ODIs
Can we buy the DVD of this.cause i don't think anyone could beat this .I got a jersey an had Maxwell Magic printed on it
I think people generally underrate Maxwell’s smarts in how he goes about his shot selection. Him reversing after slogging on leg makes bowlers confused on setting fields.

Definitely a one man army show in this match by Maxi. Great game.
It was not a 7th wicket partnership Jarrod, it was the 8th wicket. And it was the biggest 8th wicket partnership in ODI history. Love your videos mate.
Respect maxwell, hats off I’m from Sri Lanka. ❤❤❤❤❤ love your inning
That match was unreal.
Hands down the greatest odi innings of all time
every statistic would say Australia should have lost that match but maxwells innings is the anomaly that defied all the odds
The name of cricket should changed now.
New name of cricket should be Maxwell !!!
Love that great display of batting,
