All footage I captured back in the year 2000, when I was still in elementary school! NO quiet zones! No E-Bells! Back in the day when the railroad was fun! This is 5 years before TH-cam existed, and was originally intended for personal use. So sorry for the extremely shaky camera work and excessive talking throughout the video.

Not always some crossings need at least one horn that'd kind of long. Each engineer has there own unique horns he's not breaking the law.

Back when Metrolink had incandescent lights and mechanical bells at their crossings...
Not to mention when metrolink had matching cars, metrolink trains now days is messy
465 has seen 3 paint schemes- Surfliner, Cascades, and Metra..

Trains were OBVIOUSLY different in the 2000's.

I was born in 2009.
This happened back when Metrolink got incandescent crossing lights and Safetran mechanical bells, especially the San Juan Capistrano station crossing along with a WRRS bell. Now all Metrolink crossings have Dialight Ball LEDs, along with electronic bells, especially WCH or Safetran.
That's weird, train 465 in the beginning had the Surfliner scheme wrap before the cascade one
Yep! 1998-2003 I believe.. It was in the Surfliner scheme. 2004 I think is when it went to Cascades.

The good ole days of railfanning
I saw a video, can't remember who took it (I think it was mdamttc199) but it showed one of the first fleets of Surfliner Bi-Level cars in New York in the snow being transported to California.

The pacific surfliner or San Diegan use to have that colored bi-level cars from the capital corridor and used for at the same time to.

Back When 8304 Had The Screamer Horn
What? They Had Metroliners In California?
Yeah, they used to use them before the Surfliner Cars entered (which was right around the time this footage was filmed), but around late 2001 to early 2002, they were completely removed from SoCal after they were deemed unsafe after a Surfliner Cab Car hit a fully-fueled crawler at a crossing, and from a huge ensuing fire, was completely destroyed. But because of how the Surfliner Cabs were designed, not a single person on board the train was injured or killed (the driver of the crawler was sadly killed, though). The Amfleet Cab Cars obviously couldn't do the same, so they replaced them on the surfline with NPCUs to make sure any similar incidents would also not have any on-board deaths.

@@AVeryRandomPerson That's incorrect, That's for the Santa Fe they just changed to a BNSF Logo. H1 is the first paint for BNSF.
