I want to buy a Yeti. To me they are the best looking car of its class.

I have an identical Yeti (my second one) and it's brilliant. My one criticism is those heat and vent buttons - placed so low down that you have to take your eyes off the road to operate them. To my mind, that's a danger problem. Otherwise great car.

Watch out for: water pump failures.. Central locking failures due to wiring loom failing (breaks at the door), failed infotainment, failed rear hatch motor, lots of bulb replacements, best of all is the oil excessive oil consumption which leads to cylinder head overhaul and valve replacement...
    Also head rest broke...
Be prepared for bills and repairs...
We purchased new and serviced over and above planned servicing schedule... Always best oil etc... We have about 85 000 miles and of course one owner...
We liked ours and its practical but based on the costs due to repairs for what is a small SUV it's not a good buy new or used... We would say avoid this vehicle..
We should have purchased a Toyota RAV4 rather... Advise not purchasing anything from the VAG.. Skoda, VW, Audi, Seat etc..
    Avoid..

we have fallen foul of the Infotainment system, but there is a firm called "Revive" who can fit new screens for a fairly reasonable price as opposed to the £1250 plus vat for a new one, apart from that they have been ultra reliable

@@BarrieCrampton think probably a newer, more modern Android Bluetooth replacement one is the best idea for failed units.. £500 fitted.. Then you have Android/Apple etc...
That vehicle looks a good though and lots of owners have been happy and lucky... Ours is one of 4 vehicles we have so we kind of coddle it now...

@@newbeginnings8566 if i had a quid for every rear hatch lock i’d replaced on an audi id be rich, they feed the rear washer through the rear wiper motor, first winter it freezes and cracks the motor seal, ruins the wiper motor then drips on the tailgate lock and ruins that too, brilliant design if you want to sell more wiper motors and door locks, other wise not so much

you've had a bad run, I am at 296,000kms in my 140 TDi from new in 2014, still going strong, most reliable, rattle free and uneventful car I've ever had! People still ask if it's new as I keep it shiny!

From India with love. I think, you were unlucky to get a lemon. My 2015 Yeti TDi 4x4 is still going strong, after 100,000 kms. The only major expense so far is replacing the clutch assembly. I usually don't keep any car beyond four years, because niggles crop up by then. But Yeti is as good as new even now.. I don't know what else to buy if I sell this one. My other car is Audi sedan, but Yeti is the one for all long drives.
