I wasn't on this ride, but the 2022 OBT in Utrecht. And I recognize group picture location from this years GLT23 . Am going OBT23 & GLT24 in my Victorinian blocked Quest, might see you there, thanks for the video!
Loved the clip thanks John. I think the 4 wheel Quests make sense. I rode a 3 wheel Quest in NZ for a few years and it felt tippy on steep cambers. Thanks again.
Yep, the Quest is definitely tippy...mostly because of the high center of gravity made worse by a narrow track width. I've had it on 2 wheels about 6 or 7 times...never rolled it thankfully. I have ordered a SnoekL which has a similar track width but it sits much lower and the handling is NIGHT & DAY! The SnoekL seemed glued to the road compared to the Quest.
Hé John, Great footage!! Fun to meet you and riding with 155 other Velomobiles through the NL and D. Maybe we’ll make it to the next one on the 28th of December
Hello! I do remember you, always nice to see a beautiful Quest...and yours was in great shape. My only regret was not picking a different color for my Quest, and I really like the blue color that you selected. Hope to see you again in Utrecht in December!
I haven't spoke on the channel about it any...but I actually moved BACK to Germany 2 years ago (again). Complicated story, but it seems I'll have to do the Ride-back-to-the-USA once again in the future. Perhaps I head south this time ;)
@@quest818velomobile6 That all sounds very interesting, John. I didn't realize it has been two years since your trip to the U.S. When you returned to Germany, which shipping method did you employ for your Quest?
@@Brian-bp5pe When I accepted the job offer in Germany my new employer paid to move over all of our household goods in a 20' shipping container...and this included the velo. The moving company built a very substantial crate for the Quest and it was well protected. So I always have a way to get it back to the USA when the time comes (if I choose to not ride it back again)
@@quest818velomobile6 John, that island-hopping thing was a very creative solution to the shipping problem. I know that ferries have always gone back-and-forth between Ireland and Britain. Would you happen to know if there is any kind of maritime ferry service between Ireland and destinations further to the west? I don't think any such service (scheduled, or unscheduled) exists. If one has the time, travelling this way has a certain appeal to it. Ditto for ferry service between Newfoundland and points further east. It's like living in that (Shel Silverstein) children's poem about reaching the place where the sidewalk ends!
I did not notice you where at the event too! Still want to drive with you some time ;) finally a month ago I got my new Quatrevelo 302. This was the first time driving an oliebollentocht. Nice to see you did meet Alve too. I find him quite a legend! But to me he’d say. “I’m a normal person”. But the driving to nordkapp in the winter was something that I as a “normal person” would not do I think hahahaha. He actually drove 4 days with his QuattroVelo to this event from Sweden. But hey. That’s something I do see you doing too 😂.
I wish I had more time to talk with him. Quite an incredible story which he was pretty modest about. Riding to the OBT from Sweden in 4 days is just bonkers! Even if this was southern Sweden. When I hear about the incredible distances others ride with their velos I am really impressed. More than 20,000 km per year is not unheard of.
You're so lucky to be living in Europe. You're got castles, cathedrals, ton's of history...and no shortage of velos.
Where are you from,if i can ask? Iam from central europe.
I envy your Velomobile environment... from Republic of Korea

Whatched your footage loved it
I'd love to join Oliebollentocht...
Thanks for the interesting clip👍
Great video, John, many thanks for sharing! I missed this one riding a tour of Italy during the that time

It was also really great to finally meet you Casper! Thanks for the great conversation, and I hope to see you again in December.
It was nice to meet you :)
I’m the one with the blue quest from 2018. We talked the the second stage of the tour.

Nice to meet you John! See you next time.! Greets the translator.😀
Ich wünsche mir so viele Velomobile im normalen Straßenverkehr statt der Autos. ❤😊
Pinheiro uma bateria elétrica ficará mais show ❤🎉
Do they have suspensions?
Mase progreso ...
Did you need to haul your Quest all the way back from the States for this event?
I believe he lives not to far away from the event. Somewhere in Germany if I am correct. But he’s American for sure :)
