Worth mentioning, Aeroplane Heaven have subsequently updated the Globe Swift (again), so it may well be that the landing gear issue is now resolved (I haven’t had a chance to check). Nevertheless, I though it made for an interesting arrival haha. Have a great weekend everyone! : )
Man, I just realized you've got a bit of a backlog in terms of aircraft reviews. You still gotta try the GKS Mig-21bis (which given its price I suspect you'll wait a bit longer yet), they just released the Junkers F 13, not to mention the PMDG 737-800 and the SwisMilSim De Haviland Vampire, and that's only the few that immediately come to mind. So many aircraft, so little time. November gonna be busy too, given all the freeware coming to the game. Honestly though, I'm just waiting for the FRF-108 and the JustFligh T1 to come to Xbox. Been waiting to take a crack at them. But as you mentioned to me before, they may be waiting for SU10 to release them, and I definitely don't blame them.
Haha, indeed Deku! As you say, so many addons and simply not enough time to cover them all unfortunately. I do plan on taking a look at the MiG at some point and will probably still do a vid on the 737-800 (even though it is of course similar to the other members of the PMDG NG family). I’m not so sure whether I’ll be looking at the Junkers 13 and from what I’ve seen of the Vampire, the visual quality isn’t to a point where I’d be interested in picking it up. Work has been busy of late, but I’m looking forward to catching up on a couple of addons when I get the chance : ) Cheers and all the best!
I really enjoy to fly the Globe Swift, despite its problems. A beautiful vintage tourer with a nice flight model, perfect for a relaxing Sunday flight. :)
Ah well I'm glad you're enjoying it Jigsaw! A Sunday cruise in the aircraft does indeed sound like a relaxing experience - just pending a slight reduction in my sound levels and no further gear failures haha XD Happy flying! : )
My instructor once said. There are two type of pilots. Those who have landended with undercarriage up, and those that will do it in the future. With 65 I am retired and I have never landed without putting gear down but I have always done a double control, one while spiralling down (I am a glider pilot) and another before going downwind.
Hi Antonio, Haha, well we all hope not to be the one's to prove your instructor correct for sure! Of course gear failure is a rather different scenario from pilot error, but like you I was drilled to check. . . and then check again! Cheers and all the best : )
Great flight. Had to chuckle at your comments re Brands Hatch in sim racing. I really struggle on that track, though its always nice to get a clean lap in once in a while. It's also nice that we can belly land in the sim rather than just going straight to an aircraft over stress menu.
Brands Hatch is awesome . That first corner gets you to clench up . At the exit you always feel it could have been faster lol just like all the other corners . Drive it in Rfactor2 and Asseta Corsa . I am a retired Pro Driver but never drove Brands in real life . Just North American Tracks tho I did have plans to go to Europe at one point and race but never did ;-(
@@trip5003 Thanks for that. It sure is a challenge and wonderful when you do hook it up. Some awesome tracks in North America - I have done some of then in AC as well. It still amazes me how many tracks, cars and mods the community make for this game. Best wishes!!
Thanks Terry : ) Haha; I have a basic setup for sim racing and was hoping to get into it more seriously, but alas I just don’t have the time. Globe Swift is near the top of my wish list but it seems each update has yet to fix all the bugs it shipped with. Gorgeous looking plane and the handling seems nice.
Hi Kengou, Yeah, of course bugs can be genuinely missed sometimes, but it's always a little disappointing when something has been "fixed", only for the issue to still be prevalent. Still, good to see AH continuing to update the product accordingly. If you're a fan of the Gobe Swift in general, then I suspect you may well enjoy the addon, but in and of itself, the AH version of the aircraft is a rather "average" product I would suggest. Cheers and all the best! : )
Thanks very much once again AS, I’m glad you enjoyed it : ) Yes, the lack of glass textures on gauges and other such touches, tends to make an addon look pretty dated these days. The Swift is by no means a bad visual model, but there are certainly more beautifully / convincingly modelled / textured aircraft out there in MSFS. Cheers and all the best!
Haha, thanks Coenraad! I’m glad you enjoyed it; initially I was a little bit annoyed that the wheels didn’t come down (thought the video was a write off), but then I figured I could turn things to my advantage ; ) Cheers! : )

Is TrackIR a good substitute for VR in msfs? I have a vr but unfortunately the performance is mediocre while playing it and I would like to free look around instead of manually moving the camera.
Hi Rodney, Well TrackIR doesn't come close to VR in terms of immersion, but it is still the next best thing (I think). Not everyone enjoys TrackIR, as it isn't 1:1 head movement like VR, but it greatly improves the feeling of freedom of freedom and realism vs using a hat switch. As Tim points out, there is no performance hit with TrackIR, so it's a good solution for those (like myself) who aren't having much joy with MSFS in VR.
