- I didn't think that the oil tank in the VL Fuel tank was enough capacity and I didn't really want oil lines going up to the fuel tanks, so I just made my own. I mimicked a classic horseshoe shape. It has a return and vent line to support the recirculating oil system featured in U motors.
Recently found your channel and I’m loving it! Nice trick with the lapping compound. I’m going to definitely steal that. Keep the content coming. Thanks!
That's a sweet oil tank, nice job. Again, nice to see some fabrication skills actually being used. You could have just as easily opened a catalog and picked.
I'm sure you're aware, there's a hundred guys on TH-cam assembling bikes. And that just it, they buy a bunch of parts and bolt them on. It's refreshing to someone that can fabricate a part when necessary.
Cool stuff.
Enjoyed the build, but it's strange that you did not do a video of the completed UVL Project.
and THANK YOU,... i learnd it is called Lapping Compound! Gonna get some now!
Great! Thanks for watching!
Funny I did the same thing with my press making a garage brake.... lol... 25yr ago and still have it
best video on how to bend and weld a oil tank! thank you. Question, what is the thickness of the sheet metal you used? How many MM?
What kind of battery do u run in a pan like that . I have some old bikes with wrap around tanks and battery choices for 12volt bikes are limited. Love your channel keep up the good work .
Thanks, I cant remember the part number off hand but its just a gel 12V. I know the battery box looks a bit shallow, with the tank in the bike the battery will be about flush with the frame. I will make a cover that goes on top. I wanted to make the battery tray as shallow as possible not only for oil tank capacity but also expose the battery to minimal heat. Thanks again for watching!
Do you have anymore videos of your flathead build. I take it you are running a jock shift with the ratchet transmission and chain primary. Is that correct?
Check out my channel, I'm still working on it. It will be tank shift and belt primary.
Isn't that battery box a little small?
It’s kick only so a small battery is all that is necessary.
