    Just doing this in 2019 and followed everything except I used a Bobby pin and it came out beautifully. I have a Hyundai veloster

      How long between coats did you let dry?

    i jsut ordered some vinyl matt black wrap today, i was gnna take the emblem off and vinyl wrap it.. this would have been so much easier though...

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah wrapping tight pieces like this is pretty challenging. Dip or paint is way easier.

    Any reason that it’s sticks to the chrome badge but not the paint.. that’s bloody interesting, I just purchased a 2020 Santa Fe, I will give this a crack

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will peel off the chrome badge if you start on the edge just like peeling it off the paint, but of course trying to cover up the chrome!

    Not going to look through all the comments, perhaps this has already been asked, but wouldn’t it be cleaner and EASIER to remove the emblem, paint it, (plasti dip) it then replace the emblem?

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly no. It'll take more time removing the emblem since it is 3M double sided taped onto the car. Plus, you'll then have to spend the time removing all the leftover adhesive before putting it back on. Takes no time at all to tape the square and peel off the access plasti dip.

    I saw that this is from 6 years ago and was wondering how long it lasted and how well it weathered? I’m thinking about doing this to my emblems.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can't remember how long I had it on the car, but if you do multiple thin layers to make it thick, it should last a good while! We've used plastidip for other car parts and it does well!

      I have had my rear emblems done for over a year and they’ve seen two winters and they still look great. I did my front grill and it barely lasted but I think that was my fault for how I applied it.

      honda4ridered I bet I would love it too if I had it on mine but I've heard from people that sometimes it won't even fit on the trunk, and some people say it does. So idek where to buy mine if I were to buy a set.

      I ordered them from amazon. They will always fit but you do need new screws and washers to put them back in. Not to bad of a job.

    How long should I wait for in between the 4 coats? How much time basically should I wait after each coat

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Somewhere around 5 minutes or so, they dry pretty quick which is nice! Do light even coats and that will give you the think layer so when you do decide to peel it all off, it will come off easy.

  • @GLO1877
    @GLO1877 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    That shit is not as easy as it looks!
    I mean only the peeling part that shit was hurting my fingers and took me about an hour to get that clean look and that was just on the front one!

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really? If you do a lot of coats and its thick. It really comes off super easy. People just do a thin coat and complain with how hard it is to remove. All comes down to how think the coating is.

    How about a light red spray on top...thats if you think you can make it look as if it has rd flakes. I have a White 2018 Elantra. I plan to do mine black as well but try to spray red on top hoping to make it look like red flakes or Red with Blsck flskes

      The goal of this vid is to show that it is possible to do it on the car. It takes more effort removing the emblem and then reinstalling it, then peeling off the over spray
