@@lauranolastnamegiven3385 Quite true, I'm afraid to say. But at least this horse is being given a chance to live in a safe environment for awhile. Then if he fails at stud, God only knows what will happen to him. It's not Bob Baffert's fault this colt stopped running well. At least Baffert's horses are in great shape when they leave his barn.
@@peggypapczun2906 not sure we can say it's not Baffert's fault, after all, he's in charge of the horse's training, and this looks like another of his 'let's cut our loses, before he loses more stud value' retirements...I also worry, as Spendthrift doesn't have the best reputation (though Winstar is worse) for keeping studs who are less than stars from the start, but, from his pedigree, even if he fails in KY, I'm sure there'll be lots of interest in him to stand regionally (probably overseas, too, a less positive option, IMHO)
@@lauranolastnamegiven3385 I worry that any horse ends up overseas, where they may also fail. Then we know what often happens to them. Spendthrift keeps collecting stallions the way Gainesway used to; every week, a new stallion. They can't all succeed. So glad Smarty Jones & Big Brown stayed in this country.
Someone should do a feature showcase of the Kentucky Derby Sires, for 2021. That would be Awesome!
All of Bob Baffert's trainees look fabulous, he does a great conditioning job.
...until his charges decide they don't want to race anymore, and their form falls off a cliff, for no apparent(or publicly disclosed) physical reason

He is going to be a very productive stallion. People will make a lot of money with him.
Is he a brother to American pharaoh??
I figured
No he's not a full or half brother to American Pharaoh since they don't consider them related if they have the same sire but different dam.
No, they just have the same sire. A half-brother is considered out of the same dam.
@@peggypapczun2906 I know
Yes I know everything you guys are saying now I did my research
