Still won’t hold value as good as an S trim. Also the 2.5 engine uses a VTG/VGT turbo along with adjustable cam tuning on both intake and exhaust cams rather than just intake. You can push the 2.5l to 420-450hp with stock turbo and 550-600hp with a hybrid
Go to TTE global, you have two options there, first one being to send your turbo to them and they make it a hybrid for 1500-1600euro, or take a completely new hybrid turbo wich sets you back about 3600euro's, they are good for 440 to 465hp depending on other supporting mods.
Hybrid turbo is usually a standard turbo that uses different internals, typically compressor, turbine and other parts to change performance of the turbo
The Flat 6 does not have much room for improvement without serious money being thrown at the car, unlike the 4 cylinder making all the same power with a fraction of the cost.
To be honest I could not afford the 4.0 litre plus it’s a lot slower than mine now. I had a 6 cylinder before but after spending lots of money I had barely gained 50bhp. I’ve gone from 285bhp to 450bhp with this little 2.0 litre engine. 👍
@@Largeone1968 no lsd except on the T model. Tbh I have not felt the need for lsd in the 3 years I’ve owners the car. That includes good and bad weather plus many track days. You would be surprised how well this model puts its power down.
My questions are: Cost of the new turbo, installation, tune, and supporting upgrades compared to getting just the S trim with a tune?
A Performance Specialist can walk you through all of these questions

Are you telling that 2.5L cayman just with hibrid turbo can make around 600hp?
@@Alexandree55 with some supporting mods and tuning yes… it’s been done (check 718forums)

What supporting mods are you talking about?
I also have a 2018 2.0 turbo but it has a stage 2 I wanted to figure out how much a bigger turbo could cost

How did you sort out the lack of fuel with the larger turbo?
There isn't a lack of fuel

Depends on the supporting mods, condition of vehicle and operating conditions at the time tested

That said, in this world of excess(and dreams), start with the 4.0 flat six!
The Flat 6 does not have much room for improvement without serious money being thrown at the car, unlike the 4 cylinder making all the same power with a fraction of the cost.
The turbo engines are a cheaper entry point for a certain level of desired performance, and especially being able to improve it!
