    What a great tutorial. I am making an RC air boat hull. But I I instead of using you Lesson 10 tutorial, I think this one makes much more sense to use
    The logic behind this tutorial makes much more sense than Lesson 10 and can achieve the same result.

      Thank you for the comment. I think you will enjoy a set of tutorials I am working which take this a bit further and deals with creating internal strut work from profiles imported from a DXF file. I am currently working on the tutorials and hope to get them out hopeful in around 2 weeks time.

    Fantastic tutorial! I am a fan of this channel!
    Could you please do a tutorial on AirplaneDesign workbench to design a wings.

    hello there!
    amazing tutorial! thanks!
    i am trying to built an hydrofoil here. How could you constrain your B-Spline to the length and thickness you want? I tried with geometric line but it doesn't stay fix and if I anchor it to a point the shape never goes where I want. maybe it s bette to use the curves workbench like you did for the boat for precise dimension?
    Best Regards

    Great video again! I'm trying to model my aircraft Vans RV-12 and this video will help.

    Is there any way you could make a video that shows how to make a cap for the tip of the wing using the curves work bench or curved shapes, whatever workbench is best.
    thanks

    totally sic ! I made slim jet fighter wing with two sketches , with one loft action :-P

    Cannot get this to work. Am on Freecad 0.21.2 and when I loft from airfoil 1 to 2 I get a "TopoDS::shell error.
    Have looked again and again and same result.

    How would you make the ribs and longerons of a wing or fuselage in one drawing.

  • @nagesharas5136
    @nagesharas5136 ปีที่แล้ว

    At 11:45, you moved all the profiles under the *Body* node. Why do we need that step?
    What is the significance of this action?
    Will the model not work without this step?

    how would i rotate the different sketches if I want to rotate about the endpoint instead of the center?

  • @vimy385
    @vimy385 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Map mode must be set to deactivated on all sketches. Took me ages to figure this.

    Since you copied one airfoil they all have the same number of segments. Does this work if your blending between several different airfoil shapes of various sizes that may have different numbers of segments?
    Such as propeller design with tapered tips and a hub to blend into?

    Interesting, thanks for the video. But I guess the resulting scaled wing won't be very parametric. If there are changes to be made, the manual process of going through the draft wb and converting to sketch would have to be repeated. Unless it was scripted, perhaps.

    • @MangoJellySolutions
      @MangoJellySolutions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes totally agree. This video was one of my early ones. Since I found a number of techniques that allow you to make a parametric surface and also slice out the Ribs. I have detailed alot of these techniques across boat building videos and some regarding aerofoil shapes. I was only thinking the other day that I really need to bring these together into one single video as the info is scattered across the channel. I really need to do this soon.

    А если необходимо задать угол стреловидности или сужение крыла - на бумажке всё считать и для каждой нервюры отдельный чертеж?

    Very useful to be sincero,. How make fluid un free cad? 😅 to analise lift-drag

    Can't we just create the root rib, and size down the tip rib to 70% of the root, and then use the loft tool to draw the rest. We can then create ribs within the lofted shape ?

      If you select the sketches from the treeview you can press the spacebar to toggle their visibility.

    Why can't I edit the edge of the b-splines for supporting longerons.

    Can't you use 0 < numbers < 1 to shrink with Draft -> Scale?

    • @MangoJellySolutions
      @MangoJellySolutions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a video about draft scaling on my channel regarding scaling that should solve your problem. It looks like freecad has a few bugs around this area but they may be fixed in 0.19

    you make one complete tutorials on Airfoil how to import all coordinates points of X, Y & Z in FreeCad software with Fluid domain and how to make Boolean operation done between Airfoil 3D geometry and Fluid domain (Rectangle or any Shape). please make this tutorial many people are getting problem in this one. It will very helpful to others people

    I come more from the Solid Works corner and wings are too complicated for me with Free Cad. In Solid works I can take two different profiles (like Ebbler and Naca) myself and thus determine a body of my desired dimension. The body then has a modified profile from beginning to end.
    With auxiliary levels that can be freely placed, I determine the location where I would like to receive the current profile using a sketch, then I only have to click on the surface to transfer it to the sketch and I have the profile cross-section.
    If, as described here, I want to create a wing or wing cores (with all cutouts / cutouts for spars and holes) with about 30 ribs under Free Cad, then I have a lot to do, and I can't even modify the profile line.
    So in that aspect Free Cad is a total NoGo for me, I haven't found a way to do it on Free Cad like Solid Works, before doing this cumbersome work it is better to use the Profili V2.0 program
    If someone has the solution then please make a video.

    imagine this , or maybe just imagine Dragons ! I'm thinking in FC its possible . not with my knowledge yet anyways. If project if lofted from only two sketches ,a wing again but declining in dimension say 50 % . (sketch two is 50% smaller then main sketch) end to end and say it 100 mm long. Now you want to take slices say every 20 mm and turn them into independent sketches so there shape could be analyzed or edited . We know the end sketches ! but what is the shape , dimension say in the middle of the tapered wing if cut in half? Some thing in Parts bench , cross section tool maybe but I my fingers are sore from smashing board keys last night trying to make head way :-O

    • @MangoJellySolutions
      @MangoJellySolutions  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol, I wonder where this was going at first. Yep you basically there, largest at one end smallest at the other. Part wb Loft between them and then use the cross section as you say. Explode the cross section as it would be a compound and you will get the individual profiles. 👍👍
