So that's what called a "hot air intake mod". The reasons are obvious... Done this way, it will slightly decrease performance and fuel efficiency, so it only serves as show mod, to make the car sound cooler

Is it but in my experience it sounded cooler and for some reason It made acceleration faster

You are like everyone else ever in this world, you hear something and just keep repeating it, you know nothing about anything. Yes if done improperly these can pull lingering hot air from the engine bay. The air filter itself matters less, the piping is most important, the stock air intake has plastic piping which has notches all over it, the sleek straighter and bigger metal pipe allows better and faster air flow into the throttle body. Putting a nice sealed wall around these filters stops this lingering hot air from getting in. These do increase power and do increase fuel efficiency, a tune obviously would better display this, but that’s obvious, just like any other bolt on mod

I have installed many of these, and have always seen power increases. No placebo, the dyno will prove it

@@ctk4441 being honest it's my second time doing this mode first one was a fail but thankyou for the information I do realize the power and fuel efficiency .

@@ctk4441 No, but you clearly are... This "mod" have been tested many times and even in a few good videos on this platform. It's not my problem that you don't actually do research, because if you did you would already know this... It's great that you like them, but that doesn't change facts
Edit: You clearly have no idea how engine management works. Before you can even come close to understanding why a mod like this will decrease performance, you need to understand how the ECU works. Let me just try to setup an example that you can understand, note that this is very far from detailed: If you have a bottle, where 1L is pouring out per min', with a computer constantly keeping track and making sure it's always 1L per min', now will there come more water out if you enlarge the bottle neck? (hint: no, the ECU will make sure of it, as it's there by law to ensure good emissions. This is why there *rarely* is a car that's restrictive on the intake side, because that would cause bad emissions, so it's simply needed to ensure the various Euro emission demands are met. You don't get a stronger chain by reinforcing the strongest link...)

Hello, might I suggest replacing only the intake tube and keeping the stock box? the placement of that filter just looks problematic. you could replace the tubing up to the stock box and retain that deep nice short ram intake sound. you would also retain better performance since your engine would still be taking in cold air. something to consider.

@@kennyurdanofuall534 this is a good idea until you are able to find yourself, or fab a sealed box around that filter. Props to you Kenny for understanding that the true bottleneck here is that janky piping. Although the filter will allow for better flow, the decrease in pure oxygen due to how hot the air will be is also a bottleneck. This is purely from a performance perspective tho. Please do as you wish, the filter is in a good place and will likely not cause any harm.

Not everything is set in stone with cars, experiment! and don’t be afraid to try and whip something up yourself. You don’t always need to rely on fitted parts for your vehicle. And at least for me, tampering/tinkering with your own parts is alot of the fun. Just make sure you are being safe.
