just letting you know rio, mos def and black thought used 2 verses from songs thay had already used on albums for this cypher, still dope as fuck but they just took off their good shit from 2 songs off albums and used them, at least marshalls was just used for this cypher alone and never heard before or after. not to take away from the other 2 their verses are fire but they could have a least written 1 for the cypher that was new and unheard, i mean EM could just go through his best shit and pick 1 of his verses from alfred's theme or gnat but he would get slaughtered for being lazy and people would spot the fact he used a verse from his older song because of popularity. mos def and black thought got away with it because their stuff is not as well known. take that into consideration when ranking them.

@@chris-ci4uv black thought took nothing but a verse he used in 1 of his songs from his albums so did mos def, very cheap approach to getting asked to do a cypher, at least write a verse,,, If all 3 had written just for this I'd agree black thought killed it,,,, but the simple fact he just used a verse from a track off his album is lame as fuck,,, of course eminem couldn't get away with a soft move like that because every comment would be people saying he just used a verse from role model or whatever. Only 1 dude here wrote a verse for this cypher and that em,, was his verse the best maybe not but at least his was done for this and wasint a verse he took months probably years to make and put in an album knowing it was some of his best work like the other 2 did. Black thought verse is so good it even sounds structured like it's from a song already layed out and knowing when to switch up and flows and what not,, well that's because it was. Eminem at least sounds like he's actually just written the thing for this specific it sounds very raw like it hasint been placed and matched to a beat already, even in a short amount of time. Black thought took a lazy approach, he still slayed if course but he room a safe way approach as dogs mos def, 2 verses from 2 songs from 2 released albums vs raw polished written verse for a cypher, black thought is so good he didn't need to do this but it was a safe move

I have said this before, and I admit that I am biased, but really listen and it seems only Eminem came with a true off the top freestyle. Mos Def was definitely not freestyling off the dome. He spit a written from his Jay-Z 'Brooklyn Go Hard' remix/freestyle from earlier in '09 I believe. Some live versions and a studio version of this are on TH-cam. Exact dates are hard to pin down regarding when Mos started spitting this verse, but Jay released the original track in Dec of '08. The '09 BET awards were towards the end of June, so there was a good 5-6 months that Mos Def was probably spitting his verse live and are what was captured on other TH-cam videos. Regarding Black Thought, his verse is a mashup of rhymes he used on The Roots song 'Doin It Again'. That song was released a year later, summer of 2010, on the album "How I Got Over", but it is likely that Black Thought was writing for that project at the time of the 2009 BET Cypher.
For MF Doom album, I'd say probably Madvillainy (2004) rather than Mm..Food (2004).
For Eminem album, definitely the Eminem Show (2002).
For J Cole album, the first obvious answer seems to be Forest Hills Drive (2014) but on second thought there ain"t that much bars in it, for bars it would be the Off-Season (2021) I'd say.
